Dude I read that wrong first. But yeah this had some bass boosting going on. At first I thought it said sounds like no bass I’m like that’s cuz it is no bass except since I’m in the car the first half I heard it thinking it’s just bigger speakers. Listening to it now I can hear it well enough on my phone speakers and yeah. Sounds cool. Just weird to be cool I guess.
You never realize how all over the place the time signature is until its transcribed. I mean the 13/8 always had a weird feel, but everything else just feels natural when you're playing it lol. Also, in the outro the drums do a pyramid pattern starting 7:57, where the first phrase (4/4 bar + 13/8 bar) is normal, the second phrase has the 3 straight eighth notes in the middle, third phrase has 5, and the fourth phrase goes back down to 3. In what feels like classic Lars fashion, I like to play that fourth phrase as all straight eighths (until the...whatever you call it at the end. 😋 A great cover overall of course!
While I agree with the drum mics comment, I think the next investment he should make for his kit (should he make one at all) is getting a couple new cymbals. Making sure your cymbals blend well and compliment each other is integral to the drum kit, and his cymbals sound a little too samey to me. No disrespect intended!
Actually the last Crash hit before the breakdown isn't muted, it open. And some Crash hit in the Pre-Chorus are, when I'm listening to the original, unnecessary. But apart from that, spot on, dude.
For learning the song in about 30 minutes, this is awesome! I'm sure if you gave yourself even more time, it would be even better! Thanks for sharing your cover! 🤘
This. Is. AWESOME. I’ve been watching you from the beginning of the channel and honestly it’s been amazing to see everything I’ve true years. I challenge you to learn Icarus Lives by Periphery or Nocturne by Tesseract!
As a non US person, I always though that the marching bands were the coolest thing ever and for a drum head. Being in one during high-school would be the perfect complement for a drummer. Now definitively one does not replace the other. Sounding good as a drummer does not equate to doing smooth ratamacues on the snare.
Actually, yeah they would. The first three Metallica albums (Kill ‘Em All, Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets) have bass, because they were recorded with Cliff Burton, who made sure that he was heard (he was one of the few Thrash Metal bassists that used Rickenbacker basses instead of Fender.)
i never knew master of puppets had weird time signatures, thought the whole thing was 4/4. makes me think a whole lot more about metallica now and their songwriting. i always knew their songwriting was unique and smart, but not this unique.
Would it be okay if I use your drum track as a backing track for when I learn this on bass? It'd be super useful for me to get a better idea of how the drums interact.
Your set skills have greatly improved. Left handed ghost accent ghost kick. Get that down as 16ths at tempo then solo with the right hand over the whole kit is a good foundation and remember always keep the pulse in the left foot even when the hat is making no sound just like in marching band days, moving without going anywhere. Hope this helps... ua-cam.com/video/6B26C-q0kr4/v-deo.html
You play drums better than me, I don't play, but come on man, Lars is not a difficult drummer to cover. Lars puts what's needed where it's needed and nothing more. You're going to need to cover someone else next time.
@sneakylizard3165 I do have room to talk because I understand music. The idea of difficulty can be determined in viewing and not necessarily one's own abilities to play and, therefore, relate. For example, if you were to watch Thomas Lang play and compare it to Ulrich playing, it becomes clear, which is more difficult, and after watching more and more, you can develop a, sort of, ranking system.
Those of you who watched the "Learning in 66.6 Minutes" video get to see this one early!

at 6:00 you missed a snare hit
Thanks for the chart!
Thank you, this is awesome! I would love to see your approach to the drum & percussion charts to Frank Zappa’s, “The Black Black Page”, #1 & #2.
hey, this is the fastest drummer I have seen ..... and, she's cute! ua-cam.com/video/47L9ZrfbjT8/v-deo.html
@@TGS_RYNXhe didn’t miss anything bruv count the notes before you go critiquing people 💀
why does it sound like there's more bass in this song? not that there's anything wrong with that
Because it’s Cliff Burton era Metallica.
Cause you can actually hear it in this cover
Metallica fans when they hear bass: 😠🤬

Hey man, great cover! I think we both went to township HS! And we were both in indoor percussion!
Thanks! We’re you on snare for the Rock Hero show? I think I taught you lol
@@EMCproductions I was on pit kit! I still remember Brett and Dave. They were tough but fair!
Yes I remember! You has some cool double bass parts
Also, I just realized I’ve watched a bunch of your videos hahah! Good stuff man!
Collab when?
Love it bro! Your kit work is improving greatly!
One of my favorite youtubers playing one of my favorite songs on my favorite instrument, have a good morning!

He should have either learned it super fast like sub 5min fast or takent a bit more time like not quite 3mins more to nail it to perfection!!

Man, all the time signature changes. Might as well be math rock at this point.
Great job, EMC. Being a no-music reader this amazed me.
Nice job man! I got a lot of chops playing along with metallica when I was a younger lad lol.
Can't wait to see whats in store next.
KILLED IT!!!! AWESOME!!!
You playing one of my favourite song🤟🏻🥁🔥⚡️
Master of Tenors….coming soon!
Great job, would love to hear you on something by The Who, maybe the live version of "Young man's blues"
Wait till he finds crazy stuff like Jojo Mayer or even Konnakol lol
That was pretty damn good.
Learn "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" by Megadeth
YES
We watch the linkies. Great job, bro. Thanks for all the work to edit two videos to just get paid for one. We appreciate it.
I'm not sure they would claim this since we can actually hear the bass. I wish they would re"master" with the bass being louder.
It is claimed. Anything using a song's melody will get recognized.
Absolutely awesome mate!!! Hello from Perth, Western Australia!!!!!!
Trying to sleep on a moving bus! Hoped watching this would help! 😢 Mandarins on the way to McKinney 😊
Personally, the rocking of a bus helps put me to sleep. Go support your Mandarins!
@@ferretyluv coffin-style bunks, I was on the bottom on a really bumpy road! 😂

Would be interesting to see how you'd handle for example Spirit of Radio by Rush

@The8347135 I agree. Play Rush❤
YES! 💚🥁💚🥁
Please make more drum covers, really loved this!
Awesome cover
Putting the track with the drums makes the video easier to follow
the other video was also cut so it was even harder to follow :p

Nice. But can you miking up all the drums?

I think you'd like the quick breakdown on UA-cam where the guy shows that the ba dum dum is 21/32. Lol
