My first attempt at ordering a pad, I waited 6 months before I posted a negative comment on their community page. They blocked me, wrote me a nasty email, called me from a blocked number and left a threatening voicemail mail, and then cancelled my order. My second attempt about a year after the first, took about 9 months. But I did eventually receive my pads. They’re the worst. I’m glad they failed.

Turtle pads are something I'm going to be checking out before recommending it to my students. It's a draw string bag with a practice pad sewn into the back. It looks like a convenient rehearsal bag, and the company is run by a Cavaliers alum. Also proceeds go towards helping real turtles!

Highly recommend the company, he’s a good guy, and it’s for a good cause!

The more the beard grows, the more Eric becomes Epic.
Also, owner of the vibrating metronome here. I'm not a drummer so opinion may vary but their reviews are valid. You lost the feeling when you play. And it took a while to get used to feel the vibrations. They are useful but the regular metronome is very reliable and better option.
Luckily, I got the smartwatch version of the product that has other bunches of features so it is not completely useless.

yea i bought one as a drummer, tried using it like 3 times, never touched it again, lose the feeling of it, moves around if not tight enough, id rather play without a metronome than with it (granted i do kinda play without a metronome, but im also playing songs with a clear 2 and 4 snare hit so i count through that)

I’ve never owned nor ordered a Xymox pad. I think I remember them selling pads at DCI shows in the late 90’s. It’s puzzling that a company can survive such inefficiency for so many years. Are their pads still considered higher quality than other pads? How has a competitor not yet capitalized on the Xymox under-performance?

The vibrating metronome can do wonders for timing, but it's VERY unforgiving and not for everyone. You actually feel when your not on the beat and I have used it moving it around in between the limbs. Like having it on the kick foot for FoF pop songs, HH foot for jazz, or right/left hand lead or 2 and 4 snare hits. Another thing I have used it for is classical percussion, marimba and vibraphone, where timing is of the essens but you still need, and should, focus more on your sound. I like it more for that reason actually. It's still a bad idea for a gift since the person needs to have A LOT of patience and will hate you fore making you aware of their inconsistency. Even if they are used to play with metronome and have good timing.

All three are incredible pads and feel by far the best, my v1 is almost completely tarnished at this point but I took good care of the V2 and it still feels amazing. Really great video. Great chops and I loved the transitions. Nice ideas for drummers. For me the worst gift is a toy drum/electronic drum/plastic desk drum set/BS stupid/unplayable crap. I hate those gifts the most. I have a Xymox that I bought at GC years ago and I like it but the rubber pad on top deteriorated and I now have a piece of wood with glue residue that sounds like playing a table. I like Soundbrenner's watch and I just think it's fun to wear. I think it is an amazing piece of engineering and I love that you can get one for each member of your band and synch them all. I don't really care how practical it is I just think it's a cool idea and I do really like and use mine but I can understand people not wanting it. I like the fact I can put it on my base drum foot. You should check it out and see if you like it. Cheers.

I bought my snare pad about 3 months before it came in. I got lucky with the quicker delivery, I also know that xymox ships very late so I paid a little extra for faster shipping.

Lucky? Pay extra for faster shipping and it still took 3 MONTHS? Hell if it were 3 weeks that would be horrible for me

Back in 2015 I ordered a snare reserve from Xymox and it took 6 months to arrive. I just ordered a Tenor Kick from them last week and they’re already shipping it, making it better than what was going on six years ago. But maybe they’re doing better because like what you said about them being out of business and they just are trying to get rid of everything. Idk they said it’ll be here before Christmas, so I’ll just believe it when I see it.
UPDATE: I got it today, so only took two weeks. Which I’m kind of surprised at

SCOJOs!!!! I loved using ScoJos. I usually preferred them over practice pads. If you're ever on a trip or know you're going to have some free time at school or work, and you don't want to lug a pad with you everywhere, you want ScoJos. Just toss a couple in your backpack, and boom you can practive everywhere.

Drum head’s and keys would been hella good gifts. I feel like I always need more of those.... can never have enough. Not like heads take up much room and you can save them for later. Put an extra key with them too.... XD

I've used the Sound Brennar vibrating watch metronome, and I could not feel it at all while playing. It was so disappointing. I tried wearing it on my leg too. My band at the time got them for all our members, and one person would set the click and they were all supposed to pulse in sync, but they would constantly go out of sync. It was a mess.

My xymox fun time (still going) I had ordered a tenor pad for my percussion director who had a beat up xymox pad that he had had for a long while and I thought, oh, why not get him a new one. This was back in 2017, no calls, emails, or any other type of communication hasn’t gone through or anything. Almost $300 down the drain :/

Heard all these rumors about Xymox and just for shts and giggles ordered a Hybrid Snare on July 16th, they said it' be about 10 days to build and ship and since then I've gotten a courtesy update that it'd be shipped this week. Just as a test I asked if i could order sticks to be shipped with the drum in the same package and they happily sent an invoice of the sticks i linked and updated my shipment. I'll definitely be back on this comment when I get the drum in hand, and let you know if i can tighten the lugs down to spec without the rim snapping.

    my xymox experience:
so i ordered a xymox pad way back in i think it was mid-late 2018. i remember constantly checking up on it after the 1 month mark when i didn’t show. and i guess i should say tht luckily, after 6 months of waiting and getting very little responses from. one day it finally came in and i was so happy, but decided to never order anything from them ever again. it is coincidentally the same design as eric’s but mine is on a black wooden base, not the natural wooden one tht he has.

Fun video! Drummers beware of the Bluetooth delay if you’re looking at the metronome while you’re listening. Bluetooth doesn’t work for me for anything that has a visual component the delay drives me crazy.
