Actually, there already was a recent 2D action-platformer with a Cactus protagonist,
so i reckon it was a matter of time until somebody took the idea further.
Maybe even the same dev?! I didn't check.
@ZlimBratSki Stalker 2 also had Showcase and before I forget you can now play Half Life Alyx completely without VR with NO VR mod it's just fantastic ;)

After the Demo Sulfur is a Safe Buy for Me! The Explorator looks a lot like fun and really unique too!

Any news regarding Apollo: Red Moon and Retrospace? They seem to have disappeared
into the shadows they came from... BTW, this "A.I.L.A." thing looks like something sewn
from bits of scam-trailers that circulated the internet for a few years. They showcased
gameplay fragments of unbelievable quality, which promised things straight from another
universe, however - those turned out to be mere scams. The most famous of these were
"Blight: Survival" and a resident-evil-type thing called "ILL". Looks like it's made from
fragments of some of those. But i guess we'll wait and see. Or we won't.🙃🤪
Aye I'm slowly returning again, I had to test the waters a little bit and I think I'm finding a better balance slowly. I went a little too far out in the waters for a while.
No new regarding Red Moon, but Retrospace is very much alive and kicking, they are posting regular updates over on Twitter.
Aye I know of those games, especially ILL and I can say they that A.I.L.A is not snippets from them but I see what you mean ;)
We've missed Gamescom with GRAVELORD this year unfortunately 😢.

I find it funny MachineGames is developing the new Indiana Jones game. They know a thing or two about Nazis.

I think they should allow players to switch to 3rd person camera view... But the game got my attention. I'm looking forward to trying it

1:50 i've not played the Dying Light games so I cannot comment too deep. But I like that there is a recurring protagonist. After champions like Master Chief or John Marston, it's hard to find lesser characters iconic.
I've always appreciated a fleshed out protagonist so if they can create a new one, I'm here for it
I wouldn't praise the dying light 1 protagonist too much, he's alright at best :D
Dying Light games are good. They had a strong start, and only got better with each iteration.
Frankly, i had my fill with all of those zombie games a long while ago, so generally don't play
those (unless they bring something unique to the table); but i must say - this particular franchise
is very impressive any way you slice it.
Akimbot looked a little clunky when i first saw it but now my expectation have been tempered and I stopped comparing it to ratchet and clank on a production level since its not from a AAA studio. Its something i should have realized with all the fps clones but only came more into awareness when i started playing 3d platformer and survival horror clones. Hope to see more Ratchet and Clank clones now that insomniac has been mostly banished to the marvel mines.

Just played through the updated demo of The Explorator and it was a really fun demo. Played like a boomer shooter doing a Dragon Ball Fusion Dance with a Call of Duty title! Akimbot was another fun demo which I played during the 2024 Summer Game Next Fest. It's like Ratchet & Clank did the Dragon Ball Fusion Dance with Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. Spine is on my Steam wishlist and I'm loving the ideal concept of Squirrel With A Gun!

Team is called nekki which is from russia, they made shadow fight 0 which was basically demo or something where shadowy figures fight in martial arts, than they made shadow fight 1 which was bit more refined and had more features (game on facebook), shadow fight 2 came it on phones which is still considered the best, shadow fight 3 which turned from 2D shadows to actual 3D started strong but story took crazy twists all the time making it hard to follow at times, shadow fight arena which was supposed to be spin off but made into main 4th installment has you unlock characters while in previous games you had to collect gear, than came shades which was direct sequel to 2 and prequel to 3 which took round to round rogue like approach
Vector on the other hand is shadow figury looking parkour game which has 2 installments, unlocking different stunts as you progress
Nekki is full of talent wasted on phone games but black myth wukong devs were also phone game devs before, spine can actually be the project which sheds good amount of spotlight on the team and quite possibly they will give us better versions of those games on PC

Already guaranteed Dying Light The Beast buying the Ultimate Edition for Dying Light 2
Also looking forward to Indiana Jones, because I love Machine Games, I beat all the modern Wolfenstein games

Space marine 2 did actually make an appearance but they only showed the release date for literally 10 seconds so I skipped that one, but I'm soooooooo playing it!!

That's my kind of cozy 😏 A.I.L.A looks a bit like Civvie11: The Game. The idea is great to go through multiple settings. Post Trauma is on my list too. I've seen the first screenshots and videos years ago and back then it was and looked very very early - now it looks like the Silent Hill title i wish for. Unawake could be cool but Spine WILL be good. Jane Wick ftw! Looking forward tot he Akimbot Stream, should you make one. Hope Phantom Line can be played Solo. If yes, that's a buy too.

Delta force is going to end badly, the gameplay is good however it has some really weird mechanics. Bots and a little too floaty combat.

It’s always the indie and AA games that interest me most. AAA games lack innovation and passion.

I was tired seeing the same Far Cry after 4 no gfx updates I think only on consoles there is some originality with game engines , now most games will be done on UE5 I dunno but with 4 you could see everything was the same the feeling , 13:17 rotfl
Yeah far cry is a perfect example of copy and re skin! But that's why I mostly stick to the indie scene, at least in there Unity, Unreal and Godot are used wide and far
