Scary, chilling, beautiful, gorgeous, effortless-what a song! What an arrangement! What instrumentation! What voices! What a voice, Laura! Wow! Even after all I have already said, I feel I have no words. Stupendous, frightening, and yet so delicate. I have watched and listened to this hundreds of times at this point. Absolutely amazing. It drags smiles, frowns, tears, fear, and excitement from my heart and eyes. Eddie's clipped voice lands so well, and the timming of his delivery just makes my ears tingle. Together they made something monumental. A moment in time. Something I feel privileged to be able to see again and again. The musicians in the room that contributed to this... those strings... were all just absolutely phenomenal. Just crazy. I absolutely need to hear a duet of Laura Marling and Lucius. It needs to happen. Come on, Universe. Pull your finger out and make it happen!!
I have to confess that I've fallen in love with this version when I first heard it. And now whenever I listen to this, it just takes me away to some place else...... Both singers' voices are simply gorgeous. I don't find it pretentious at all.
Muito bom. Adoro Dylan e esta versão de vocês dois ficou realmente muito bacana. Fiquei imaginando algo assim como o Cat Stevens cantando com a Joni Mitchel.
Damn, can't anyone just enjoy this cover without bitching about every little thing? Dylan's original version is gold...but Laura & Eddie's version is gold as well. Obviously it's going to be different when turned into a duet. They did a lovely job.
Bitchin is one thing,,,,butchering a freaking masterpiece that can only be delivered by the soul that created it,, is a thing intirerly different...this is disturbing.
@@ToffeenoseToffee don't give a ratsass about people when dylan went electric, it is what it isn't, you wouldn't understand , it's obvious from your statement, you go back to your monkees album and enjoy.
@@davidmack964 you're wrong. Really, you are. Maybe consider coming at it without prejudice, you might open up a lot of beautiful experiences for yourself :)
I think it might be in open D (DADF#AD) I tuned my guitar to the tuning you said and tried to play along and it didn't sound quite right (but it was very close) I can't be sure if its actually a real open D I'm in as I literally just tuned my G string down until it sounded right, but I'm almost 100% sure! hope that helps, glad I'm not the only one who appreciated how gorgeous that guitar sounds!
D A D F♯ A D So, 1st Chord - open strings 2nd Chord - E shape 3rd Chord - E shape 3rd fret 4th Chord - 5th fret - hold down top 3 5th Chord - same as 4th chord two frets up (7th fret) they are the basics
This song will tell you something about yourself: If you're artistic and have an educated ear you will love and appreciate this. If you are an unimaginative square you wont like this.
it's nice but it's all a bit david gray. Like the kind of stuff you hear on john lewis adverts at xmas :- / they need to get pissed and then do a version which is a bit dirtier.
agree... for me, more than "clean" simple, easy guitar and voices... I guess they feel it that way though I don't get any feeling, sorry. No criticism or bad comment intended...;-(
Was a little down when this popped up on the mix. Now getting really pissed. Havent' run across Ms. Laura and that beautiful pitch. But this is not her venue. Like watching a depressed junkie on a downslide. Going to look for her better work. Any suggestions?
I love Laura Marling. As a man I want to have her babies. But... as nice as this sounds I feel it misses the point of the song. There is anger in those lyrics that melts into desperation. This cover didn't really capture that for me unfortunately and continuously leaves me wanting shake them both and shout 'do you realise what the words you're singing mean?'
"When he took from you everything he could steal. How does it feel"... Holy shit the expression on Laura Marlings face gave me goose bumps
'Spotify' threw this my way and I sat bolt upright when Laura's voice came in... I've listened to it a dozen times here since. Awesome.
me too! thanks Spotify AI Bot!
Wow!!!
How does it feel to make a Dylan milestone your own? Give yourselves a big hug.
What a blessing to hear their voices on that song. It brings tears to my eyes. Thank you!
Eddie, Love your work with Laura, but who wouldn't The woman is a unique gift to the world...

Pull your finger out and make it happen!!
That's a condensed version of my own thinking.
Her voice❤
One of the very best videos in UA-cam. Absolutely superb version of an iconic song.
She is so unrecognized. Incredible voice.
i absolutely adore this
Just found this. Man, this tells the story in the song so well.
This is amazing. Truly. Laura's lazy and melodic voice is outrageous. I'm in love with it.
Grazie
AMAZING!!! Always said this song was my life story. This is both beautiful and chilling to me. Mobed to tears. Ty😊
Marling is transported somewhere else when she starts and she takes us with her.
Beautiful.
Beautiful duet 👍😍👍
Stunning!
I'd love a cover of this just with Laura, her voice is absolutely captivating
Listening again 3 years later.. so beautiful especially in these times ❤️💯✨
What a great artificial engagement with Dylan's song. Laura Marling's vocals are breathtaking.
Wonderful, just wonderful !
Simply beautiful ❣️
I love Dylan and I love this version as well. Laura is beautiful which is a bonus
one of the best songs ever - in THIS version! Marling & Berman are AMAZING
I got shivers listening to this! Just amazing! Thank you

Very cool: D A D F# A D tuning. Kudos on the arrangement. 🙏

This is quite lovely.
It's a different song. A damn good one.

Imitation is the best form of flattery, I like!

Beautiful take on this classic. Mr. Brobert D would be pleased with this translation one would think.
nice voice
mscentrum Love this!!!! It's pure just as it is.
Amazing
Holy Shit! Love that

...and those mentioning the slower tempo, it's perfect for these two.
Unbelievable! Anyone know the exact chords for this version? Absolutely amazing cover!
♥️
Love Dylan, but this is beautiful. She holds her notes and think Dylan would like this version too
Can any guitarists out there confirm the tuning he's using (is it DADGAD?} Beautiful.
Fino demaisss
You're right it is in Open D. I worked this out a few months ago. I have also worked out the chords as well.
could you tell me wich ones? would be dying to play the song his way...
I will try to put the tuning here soon
D A D F♯ A D
So,
1st Chord - open strings
2nd Chord - E shape
3rd Chord - E shape 3rd fret
4th Chord - 5th fret - hold down top 3
5th Chord - same as 4th chord two frets up (7th fret)
they are the basics
Thank you so much!
04mscentrum Thanks James!! 1/26/2017
I hope they're all happier nowadays.
💔
I think it's in open D major (DADF#Ad)
Love it,
could anyone help me out and post a tab if you have one? I'd love to be able to play the song the way he does :)
new life :)
She looks and sounds so depressed! Exactly my type of girl... in love!
Fuckin hell, that was beautiful

Anyone know what tuning the guitar is in?
they are absolutely amazing, but I think that the song is a little bit too slow

Wise words. Give it the Judas treatment.
Took me out of this world for 7mins......
Ooooooo k.....

ow :D
This is a Eddie Berman cover with Laura helping out. Laura wouldn't cover this song (or Dancing in the Dark) in my opinion. It's not her style.
Does he have sandpaper on his fingers?
I love Laura Marling. As a man I want to have her babies.
But... as nice as this sounds I feel it misses the point of the song. There is anger in those lyrics that melts into desperation. This cover didn't really capture that for me unfortunately and continuously leaves me wanting shake them both and shout 'do you realise what the words you're singing mean?'
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Wake up, kids!
This just doesn't really work. It's a travelling song - this just sounds a bit fake and contrived
I want her to be Dylan. Not Baez.
i disagree
Poor Dylan has be elevator-musicked.
You just created a new song and stole Bob Dylan's Lyrics.
Big mistake
Laura is always a plus, that get out of here, man! this is completely out of place, it's a so wrong approach!
