@@wiltagarn577 Well you are right at some point ,but for me his voice is special and i have heard his songs so many times that i am used to it. Anyway , this is a really good cover!
I just finished season 4 of Peaky Blinders. Discovered it a little over a month ago. This song came up, I knew it was Dylan but the cover served it’s purpose. I’m not sure I want to see the last season, I’d like to think that this was a fine way to go out.
Just finished watching full season Peaky Blinders binge for the 100th time 😂 love it!! & this song always gives me goosebumps when Shelby Fam walking down the stairs 💯🔥🔥
By the order of Peaky blinders, I love this song too much. This song has a pure nostalgia when Shelby families running down from the stairs, for celebrating there winning
I was watching peaky blinders untill I heard that cover, and that's the only song that i looked for in youtube, from the entire serie. Cheers from Morocco! Thank's for the vibrations.
Awesome, LM. I like the march beats - ominous, perfect for a gangsta show - and then the triumphant crescendo. Look forward to hearing it live one of these days soon (Seattle)
I love both this cover and the original Dylan. I only wish she could have included what is still one of the most powerful lines from the original Dylan lyrics: I saw guns and sharp swords in the hands of young children.
LYRICS: Oh, where have you been, my blue-eyed son? And where have you been, my darling young one? I’ve stumbled down the side of twelve misty mountains I’ve walked and I’ve crawled on six crooked highways I’ve been ten thousand miles in the mouth of a graveyard And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard It’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall Oh, what did you see, my blue-eyed son? And what did you see, my darling young one? I saw a newborn baby with wolves all around it I saw a highway of diamonds with nobody on it I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard It’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall And what did you hear, my blue-eyed son? And what did you hear, my darling young one? I heard the sound of thunder that roared out a warning I heard one person starve, I heard many people laughing I heard one hundred drummers whose hands were a-blazing And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard It’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall And what will you do, my blue-eyed son? And what will you do, my darling young one? I’ll walk to the depths of the deepest dark forest Where the people are many and their hands are all empty Where hunger is ugly, where the souls are forgotten Where black is the colour and none is the number Then I’ll stand on the ocean until I start sinking But I’ll know my song well before I start singing And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard It’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall
I know... it's like a stirring of the soul. It makes me happy and sad and it's just a wonder. I can't wait for a new album another tour... or anything.... Peace
I have loved this song a long time, and you did it as good as anyone could ever. I’m so glad I accidentally found you watching the TV show Parenthood. I don’t remember the episode, but I will never forget you or your music. Thank you for the beautiful music.

Oh, where have you been, my blue-eyed son? And where have you been, my darling young one? I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains I've walked and I've crawled on six crooked highways I've stepped in the middle of seven sad forests I've been out in front of a dozen dead oceans I've been ten thousand miles in the mouth of a graveyard And it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard, and it's a hard It's a hard rain's a-gonna fall Oh, what did you see, my blue-eyed son? And what did you hear, my darling young one? I heard the sound of a thunder, that roared out a warnin' I heard the roar of a wave that could drown the whole world I heard one hundred drummers whose hands were a-blazin' I heard ten thousand whisperin' and nobody listenin' I heard one person starve, I heard many people laughin' Heard the song of a poet who died in the gutter Heard the sound of a clown who cried in the alley And it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard It's a hard rain's a-gonna fall Oh, what did you meet, my blue-eyed son? Who did you meet, my darling young one? I met a young child beside a dead pony I met a white man who walked a black dog I met a young woman whose body was burning I met a young girl, she gave me a rainbow I met one man who was wounded in love I met another man who was wounded in hatred And it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard It's a hard rain's a-gonna fall And what'll you do now, my blue-eyed son? And what'll you do now, my darling young one? I'm a-goin' back out 'fore the rain starts a-fallin' I'll walk to the depths of the deepest dark forest Where the people are many and their hands are all empty Where the pellets of poison are flooding their waters Where the home in the valley meets the damp dirty prison And the executioner's face is always well hidden Where hunger is ugly, where souls are forgotten Where black is the color, where none is the number And I'll tell and speak it and think it and breathe it And reflect from the mountain so all souls can see it And I'll stand on the ocean until I start sinkin' But I'll know my song well before I start singin' And it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard, and it's a hard It's a hard rain's a-gonna fall
Je suis vraiment impressionné par cette version . Je suis plutôt du type musique hard et je me suis facilement laissé bercé par cette pièce incroyable ! Ca m'en a fait pleuré , rien de moins !
There are a whole lot of ways to screw up with a Dylan song - and not terribly much scope for improvement because people remember their favorite versions of his - and there are usually many to choose from, and you can't go forgetting the words, that would be sacrilege. Between the beautiful, minimalist cross between deadpan and silk that Laura has for a voice, the delightful flat-stringed growling of that vintage Gretsch or whatever it is, and the same quicksilver-style drumming that you might have found on Dylan's "Blonde on Blonde", this performance begins with the kind of energy you only find with seasoned street performers, rises to a rapturous, life-altering crescendo, only to end way too soon despite its 4-minute runtime, leaving you, well, standing in the doorway crying, suffering like a fool. This guys and gals, is a masterpiece.
The best artist of this generation, covers the greatest songwriter in the history of popular music, perhaps there can be a better combination, I wonder what Dylan thought when he heard this.
what makes this great is you remain you while covering Bob - not everybody achieves this. Love you albums (I have them all) but would love top hear you cover some Willy deVille
Peaky Blinders have truly opened the doors to help me to discover very talented artists to listen to.
Me too! :')
Same here .. thks to Peaky Blinders !!
I agree 100%..........
Really, i found this from Outlander series. REALLY good series.
I found it from Vietnam war documentary, originally bob Dylan's.. And then peaky fkg blinders😃

Sorry Rachel, dylan is a wonderful lyricis/poet, but many of his songs beg to be sung by better vocalists. This is a good example.
@@wiltagarn577 Well you are right at some point ,but for me his voice is special and i have heard his songs so many times that i am used to it. Anyway , this is a really good cover!
I am as well. Check out this cool cover: ua-cam.com/video/oho_DejDTjQ/v-deo.html I like when women cover Dylan tunes!

i never smiled truly after John's death while watching the show but somehow the ending of season 4 accompanied by this song made me did so.
And turns out that Michael that survived may not be a saint.
Not a Dylan fan but always enjoying Marling's stuff that has a connection with the other continent
