      I don't listen to deathcore but I immediately fall in love with Pain Remains when I heard it for the first time (also cried), and now I'm casually listening to Lorna Shore almost every day. They were touring near to me a couple of months ago but back then I wasn't into them and now they are on my bucket list. If they will come I'll be there.

    Sometimes art transcends commentary and just needs to be experienced...really enjoyed your raw reaction...this isnt typically a genre people associate with this level of emotional impact. And as tough as the subject matter of the videos are, i know for me, being someone who has lost a close family member to the effects of inner turmoil on this scale, i find it comforting to see that it is becoming less and less taboo to talk about publicly. Seeing yourself in someone elses story can be a very powerful thing. As far as i am concerned, this masterpiece is a gift to the world, as sad as it is.

    Really weird i find this trilogy for the first time now. He said the story is about a lucid dream where he meets the girl of his dreams and makes his perfect world with her. But when he wakes up shes just a depressing fleeting memory. Then realizes it doesnt mean anything so he destroys it by burning it down.
    I have lucid dreams almost every night. I also have a world with reoccurring characters i interact with, women who love me. And when i wake up, its back to reality... Ill spend like an hour just lingering on what occurred over night feeling a mix of depression and happiness. I dont know if this is something Will has experienced personally, or its just a story, but this is such a reality for me i didnt think anybody else could ever relate with these kind of experiences. People know i lucid dream, but i have never told anybody the extent of it.

    I think I saw these 3 Pain Remain videos like a billion times and those faces in the video are so stuck in my head I hardly can imagine someone else playing those roles. They've chosen the perfect people to do this videos with. It makes you care a ton and that's all that matters. It makes you run to your significant other and hug her for an hour constant (make sure she can still breath though :p). I can't imagine after being together for almost 20 years to have an experience like this, it's a nightmare. I think I couldn't continue without my partner. Hell no, just the thought gives me chills. These videos hit hard as a rock, they make you fear aswell. Thanks for reacting and staying real. Tears are the beauty from your inside coming out to show up and say high. They show eachother that we are a beautiful person filled with warm emotions and love rather than being rotten to the core with a dead frozen cold blackened heart. Talking about a masterpiece, damn!

      Definitely, my friend. Watching and hearing this trilogy, even if it is all a dream and fabrication of the protagonist (I've since learned from you awesome Lorna Shore fans) it still makes you think and fear the worst. But it also makes you, as you said, reach out to the nearest person and want to hug them. It makes you appreciate the little things. It makes you re-evaluate everything and weigh up what's really important. Not many songs and bands can do that. I'm so grateful I got to experience this and it would never have happened had I not started making music reaction videos. And I thank people like you and others viewers for persuading me to make this video too 🙏

      @@melvinthinks I think I do understand and agree. I think it's the beauty of modesty. Reality rather than striving for perfectionism. Watching the world through the eyes of the majority of people rather than those who live next to them and don't know what's going on on half of the planet. Nobody's perfect, only the (shared/public) idea of an ideal people believe in might be. And that's why it's always a good thing that part of that majority of people is being put in the spotlight. So does this video. Everyone is unique anyway.

    The trilogy is even more incredible when you take in the whole album. So when you hear it as you have, by its self, the trilogy has one meaning, but taken in with the rest of the album it has an ENTIRELY different meaning. There are a few callouts to the rest of the album, but the important one to take in comes in part 3 when will says "Fuck this existence, Bring me back to where it all began in the fall, Wake me up before I lose it all", which is a call back to the first song on the album.
    Simplest way to tell the story, Our protagonist is dreaming. This was a man so disillusioned with the world that he decided to create a world within his dreams. "Welcome back o' sleeping dreamer" Is the opening track and says "Welcome this blessing and fall into lucidity, Like clay in the mud, sculpting the plunge, Embracing the world and becoming the one, The architect, benevolent, accepting the material, World as enslavement, a fetter, a servant, But here in this place you are attunement
    Welcome back, welcome back oh sleeping dreamer, Embrace the fall". Essentially this song is him creating his new world, and the rest of the album is his experience within the dream, culminating in the trilogy.
    Seeing it this way means that nothing that you see in the trilogy is "True" In the sense that you know it without the context of the album. Essentially, he began to become disillusioned with his dream world the same as the real world, and when that happened it began to fall apart, the trilogy is the dream falling apart, and him burning the house down is him waking himself up from the dream. Seeing it in this context also makes some of the more difficult lines to parse (For me at least), easier to digest. The line "You were a shackle..." Hits me wrong if i take it without the context of the album, but with it, its less....cold?
    Lol anyways great reaction dude. Do the whole album now, Starting with "Welcome Back o' Sleeping Dreamer"!

    • @melvinthinks
      @melvinthinks  24 дні тому +2

      I have listened to whole album since but more from a musical standpoint vs analysing the lyrics. So this is cool insight 👍
      As you say, this knowledge does bring a very different view to the trilogy and makes it somewhat easier to emotionally digest. But I also don't think the song/s would have the same effect (for me personally) had I listened to it in album sequence first. So I'm definitely glad I've done it this way 🙂

      I see a slightly different interpretation of the album.
      I don't see the dream world as crumbling, that's the crumbling of The Protagonists mind, which is basically Soulless Existence, Apotheosis, and Wrath, and in Part I of the Trilogy, The Protagonist finds a love that literally disappears before their eyes. This causes The Protagonist to experience fully the despair of their situation and they try and burn the dream world down to get back to reality. This is why there is so much triumph in the chorus of Part II, it's more a call to action. In the end I think it's left unclear whether our Protagonist makes it back to reality or not.
      I am really curious if Will got the inspiration for this story from Inception.

    • @wolfinthesno
      @wolfinthesno 19 днів тому +2

      @@ThaBeatConductor Will has stated more or less that they wrote the story based off of an anime, but they never said which one, and I think it's more implied that it was an anime, they wanted to write.

    Brutal in its own way. Obvious the scene of her passing is rough along with him cutting, but I think something in Part 3 that just crushed me is after the gasoline, after he’s tossed his pictures and things on the floor and sits on the couch, he stares at it for a moment, then you can see the jolt in him, that thought you have when you’re going to jump from a ledge into water but your nervous, or something like that, like that voice in your head that says “Well, let’s do this” right when he pulls out the lighter. Something about that scene, that movement felt surreal. The actor could’ve just sat down, whipped the lighter out and lit the place up but it’s that brief moment of reflection, that quick pause of “I’m here now, may as well jump”. That, in my opinion, is the most human thing in this entire video. In my opinion at least.

You become a lot more aware reacting to a video like this, because aside from me welling up and crying, you are also thinking about people (like yourself) watching along with you, how they feel, what their story is etc. It's not an easy subject matter and you have to try and be sensitive and respectful, whilst also trying to give your own thoughts and perceptions. But simultaneously, I don't just want to talk for the sake of it. I hope I did the track justice.

The way he lost his parents, the aftermath of being an orphan, his own battle with suicide. His story carries over into the next album too but The Valley is the gut puncher. Ya this trilogy never fails to make me cry. The way they managed to capture all that pain and emotion through film and music... But ya from what I know it was written by the boys in the band and was based on their lived experiences. It was also a short film that was filmed by a news reporter of some kind I think? I might be wrong on that last past but the person is credited in the original videos I believe

      I also admire how the cinematographer displayed one of the more harder to watch scenes, specifically the one at the end of the second song and beginning of the third. As weird as it is to say, it was a tasteful and accurate display of that action without over doing it for the sake of the dramatics, which a lot of films do. But overall everything was just done well

    So this entire album is interesting. Despite the themes of grief and pain, this is a very spiritual album about a man dreaming. Below i copied a reddit post that explains these three songs. If i remember right, these bits are from Will Ramos and what the songs are about
    “Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames” “I used to have dreams where I would have this fantastic relationship with somebody, and I can’t even tell who this person is at all because that’s how dreams are. Unfortunately, you can’t make out a lot of things-dreams are so vague. But in your mind, it makes sense. You’re falling in love, and then you’ll wake up from the dream and be like, ‘Shit, that never really happened at all. This sucks.’ In the story, the character has a moment like this. They begin to love in their dreams, which returns meaning to their dreamworld. But they can’t quite find solace.”

    “Pain Remains II: After All I’ve Done, I’ll Disappear” “He’s beginning to realise that, after everything, he’s at the end of this whole world he made. It’s all a ghost in the breeze, like fading memories. He wants to disappear, to escape from this dreamworld.”

    “Pain Remains III: In a Sea of Fire” “This is the conclusion, but it’s also the part where he is most angry. He’s at the bottom of the barrel and desperate. The world he made, he’s going to burn it all down and disappear. He’s ready to go back to wherever it was that he came from. It’s the idea that God has left us and the world he made. He’s bored, he’s sad and nothing he’s done has brought him any purpose. So, he leaves the world and goes back to the reality he came from. The ending is a bittersweet tragedy.”.
