So this is the car we all missed out on in America. The GTO was alright but this car was a Direct Decendant of the American Buick GNX in 1986-1988 and we all have wanted another car like that and we have never gotten it. Just a bunch of Pushrod V8s here in American Rwd Cars.
@@TinShed I had a mishap with the oil, thought I'd put enough in. Went for a drive and it spun a bearing. One piston is damaged. Currently have an NA ecotec in, but lost enthusiasm to finish it.
Definitely hold onto it. Fix it up slowly and put a cover on it. Bring it out when your ready. Regardless of being a 6 it will still be of value in the future.
You will like the car. I also have a silver 2006 6.0L V8 her in the states, Arizona! Bought the car new back in 2006 and drive it a lot for the past 17 years.... In the US it was sold as a Pontiac GTO... Solid car and I can still get parts for it. It is obviously left had drive here....
Hi PJ to be honest I cannot wait I've only driven off a trailer and so far it feels so responsive and I've not updated the Bushes or front caster yet. Will be nice in the mountains in the not too distant future. Keep watching as I've got some serious plans for it.
That is just a two door Bogandore. The last Monaro was the HX. The HX LE coupe popped up to get rid of the two door body shells, but the Monaro name wasn't used on it. The HX holds the honour.
High performance diff is a open diff with hardened gears. The others walked away from your car now because they were looking for a V8 . I didn't know they came out with a V6
yeah the investment market is the V8. Well I scored a bargain for what I wanted. Holden had to keep the tradition going with the 6 cylinder as they had the red motor in them earlier on
Also, I had read somewhere that there were less than 100 CV6 produced. I'd assume it was per series (VT dash and vy dash). But I cannot find if that's true or not. Nice car, drive it, enjoy it and keep it alive.
The VZ Monaro with twin exhaust is due to the fuel tank being located in the boot to meet the US specs where the fuel tank needs to be under the floor/rear seat kinda thing...

I want a Buick GNX Now :P
The pontiac GTO is a Monaro (though I think you only got the V8's) - they were exported from Australia!
What a beauty. The best car ever. I have a Calais with a busted supercharged motor, wish I could afford to rebuild it.
What's busted with it? Did uncle Rodney come to visit?

@FixTechStuff do a top swap.. better compression for the m90. If you're in Brisbane I can help you with the motivation
@@TinShed I might consider that. Need to get the heads reconditioned tho, I saw cracks between valves.
@@FixTechStuff spend the money now and do bigger valves, you can port them later

That's the plan.. in no rush

Wow. I literally remember seeing the ad for that car online. What a great buy! Looks very clean and original 👍
Just don't look at my short video's then 😂.. don't worry I had plans for that area anyway.
@@TinShed Oh noo. I just saw it. Bloody hell!
how rare are these cars over there we only got the v8 from 04-06 as the pontiac gto
Were only 468 made between 2001 and 2003
@@TinShed wow so trying to find parts from the Au is probably just as hard as here
You will find baby seat attachment points under the rear head rests, lift them up and you'll see the lugs 👍
cheers James, yep found them when taking the rear seat out to inspect. #Hide&SeekChampion

Maybe so, and the earlier models were a 2-door kingswood, but this was the car that inspired me growing up.
@@TinShed lets go!
Sorry mate, I'm not Rob.@@dewey-cox

@@TinShed Yes sir , still a good score bloke 💪
Fuck the v6 is a cheaper option give you more coin to spend on it a plus t kit would get it moving probably faster than a stock 8
Swap everything out of the white one into the monaro

Twin turbo ls1 would be cool in it and just thrash it or get a Ford same thing 😂
Na... We got something better

Ahh that makes sense
Drop the driveline into the monaro
keep it stock plz
We chose our path but didn't get rid of the stock items. follow the one of a kind build
Just like me lol I just bought a new car nekminit I'm pulling it down to rebuild it 😂😂😂😂😂
there's rebuilding and then there's doing it proper....
. It's not fucknnn fair
I just wannnnnnt one
Lol ya goofy m8te from Australia
Drop an LS3 in her.
Better crate motors than a LS3 to choose from now days
