The Monaro is still a very very good looking car. It's aged incredibly well. I saw a yellow one yesterday. Hearing Brocky talk makes me cry. Such a loss.
Wow, love Brocky & Holdens. I have a 03 CV8 & never realised it had so many of the features Brocky talked about! It is a tragedy they are stopping making Aussie Holdens & Aussie Fords.
you would have the model after this one, this is the first version of the v2 monaro, took a few years to get it to the us as a GTO. You're one is like this but even better
@Goshua Jane Exactly mate and thats what I tell everyone that the 04-06 GTOs is nothing but a rebadged Holden Monaro from Australia unlike the original GTOs from the 1960s.
I have the '05 M6 GTO version, and I loved it the moment I drove it off the lot. It's amazing interior, ride and quiet cabin made it feel like a much more expensive car. I doubt I'll ever sell it.
Fred Garvin I would keep it. They have gone up in value with prestine condition models becoming more and more rare especially the 6 speed model. And since they were very short lived here in the U.S. makes them even more rare. Hold on to your prized gem, you won’t regret it
i have the 2002 model and still looks new and turns heads all the time..people just love it and comment its an aswesome car everyware i go,,, i would not trade it for any other car ,,all black with full black interior makes my monaro realy stand out ,
Cool video, must admit I cried when I heard Pete died... and also when I saw is funeral footage. We have two Monaros a 2005 CV8 and an HX GTS....both blue...
Makes me wonder why they even bothered with the V6, to be honest, supercharged or not. Monaro has always meant V8 to me! I always loved this design- the VT/VX. Def in my top 3 Commodore designs, along with the VK and VZ.
Great cars. I wonder how many CV6 monaro's Holden made? Highly desirable car. Both the CV8 and CV6 are desirable classics. CV6's might be a little hard to find.
If only the powers to be allowed the 4 wheel drive technology to compete at Bathurst, I’m sure Holden and Ford would still be in Australia today. HSV offered 4WD in the Monaro range. This was a lost direction in Australia
Missing the point. The commodore was never a Monaro based car.. The Monaro was based on the kingswood, and quite clearly the new style Monaro is a commodore. Like when they were going to make the new Torana based a Opel vectra. Also like when your missing puts on a strap on and gives it to ya. Not quite the same as when your brother gives it to ya.
+TRUNYA1 The commodore was never a Monaro based car? The Kingswood was? (WTF are you talking about) The first Monaro was a two door Kingswood, the 2nd a two door commodore, a natural progression. They are both legendary cars
Opel Monza was a 2 door based on Commodore that Brock converted with 5.0 V8 fitted with irs only made 1... US version of this was called Pontiac GTO...
@@gerardcrabb4556 Aware. The point I was making almost 10 years ago is….. This Monaro in this video, the last of what we know as a Monaro is clearly a 2 door (COMMODORE) The Original….. THE ORIGINAL MONARO we had in the 70s was a Kingswood A Kingswood is not a Commodore. Point I’m making from that is a Monaro is a Kingswood not a commodore so they shouldn’t have called the 2 door commodore a Monaro . They should have just made up a new name for it and not used the old name on a completely different chassis . I own a 4 door HQ KINGSWOOD GTS Monaro. I’ve never seen a VH SLE COMMODORE MONARO. Obviously NOT, Why? because there different chassis. 😂😂😂😂 hope 8 years later that makes sense to all the above comments
Love my Holden's and love Brock but.... The monaro was never a commy it was a kingswood so how can we call a 2 door commy a manny??? Just something that has bugged me for a very long time..
what ,,ya never seen the old 'hk' or 'ht' monaro,,,most old monaro's were in fact 2 door cars ,,,may i suggsst you read up on the history of holden monaro's
monaro was the 2 door version of the 4 door car... now its the 2 door version of the commodore.. makes sense. besides, it wasnt Holden that decided it was a Monaro, the fans demanded it be called Monaro

But its not a Holden
@@tavisyoung7701 it has pontiac badges you goofball
@@tavisyoung7701 No it is a Holden just with some bullshit Pontiac grille and badge. But underneath that it's a Holden made in Australia.

Get the seats done in cream leather and door trims as well, but keep the OR black seats should you sell it. :)

A haunting treasure, thanks for sharing it
The vid give so much feeling of Need for Speed high stakes. I love it.
The cv6 was anything but exhilarating.
I hadn't seen this Intro before. Vale Peter.Brock .Go Monaro..move ahead of your time

Well done Brocky, What a loss!!
This song from PS2 Stuntman's Toothless in whopping.
I’d like a v8 v2 Monaro with latest front before they went out of production.
Nice

locked my keys in the boot and use a coat hanger to lift the door button then open boot by glove box switch took me less than 5 min to break in
In your Yugo?! ...roflmao!
Bullsh/t.. because the boot latch is not even in the glovebox. So why talk sh/t
just to think I oooh'd and argh'd over this - nowadays I look and I think wow, what a dinosaur
So what do you drive nowadays?
