Great video but I used small screws instead of nails so I could prevent the wavy result and easily remove the strip later if needed. You could put small washers as shims underneath first to help prevent the wavy sag.
This works good works even better with dab of construction adhesive in hole also get or make threshold from hardwood then use trim screws to secure composite thresholds are junk they break would also use tack strip behind threshold not on top
I live in a rental, I hate asking the real estate to come over, The hallway to my bathroom is carpeted until the tiles I the bathroom all on a concrete slab, the carpet was worn exposing the spike strip I bought the same threshold and was wondering how am I going to get this onto the concrete? Just as I was going to the Home Depot I decided to look at UA-cam and there you were! thank you so much. I had everything in the garage!
Did he bother stretching that carpet before he did this? It's NOT going to hold up when they vacuum.. Is he trying to crack the concrete with that hammer?
Dowels in concrete slab: BRILLIANT!!! Excellent video. Thank you for sharing.

You most definitely need more likes than this. I’m going to share this video as much as I can.

What size are the dowel rods, and what size holes did you make?
Genius! Nice, Easy, Creative DIY Hack!
Thankyou I was at a loss for what to do to fasten the trim.
Same here. I'm going to try it first before PL MAX.

What an absolutely genius idea
Thing was wavy
What size is the dowel?
The best and the popular way to finish the carpet to the concrete floor in the door way is a tap down metal piece.
Pretty genius diy tbh. I have an issue right now carpet to tile the strips won't stay down. You just helped me figure out a proper resolve ty.
Would this still work if you don’t put the wooden dowel piece in before nailing it?
No of course not, the wooden dowel is the part that is expanding to hold the screw in
Where you get the long wooden thing that you slick in the hole and the nails from?
They are wooden dowels, you can find them at any hardware store and Wal-Mart.
@@quinton01 I have another question where to get those nails?? I can’t find it..
@@mirandac0728 they probably came with the threshold

You would have a hard time cracking that concrete with a sledge hammer. Rookie.....
It is carpet tile and have vacuum a ton last couple years with no issues
