what do you think about just replacing the motors because they don't work?
Hey Civil, Dr., can you do everything for Matilda?
I don't get how this guy only has 54K subscribers. Hands down his channel is one of the most thorough on fixing pretty much ANY small engine you can think of. Coupled with his energy and personality...super entertaining. Keep up the good work!
I thought I was subbed to him a few years ago and he just died, I then discover today the dam youtube gods took him off my subs list.
@@ateam6486 I have found they do that a lot !
In 6 months he has gained 18k. So maybe....
I feel the same way about Taryl's video's .Mustie1 is good also the rest I don''t bother.
The reason is because in this day and age no one fixes anything themselves.
Not like the good old days.
I didn't know anything about motor , but I could not stop watching.
Been watching you for a long time Taryl , you're the best at repairing and explaining , I wish you were here in northern Indiana , thanks ...
Taryl thanks to you and all the behind the scenes guys who put time and effort to bring us these videos. It may be fun but it still takes time. I agree how can you question someone with 40 years experience. Happy and healthy holidays to all of you.
I don't know about "never ready" , I've had to be READY all my life !!
Another great example of being a great fabricator and helping us find solutions to fix our stuff
Most excellent work and videography doc, you Rock!!! Love your videos and channel sir, easy to see why you are the master!! Sometimes watching your older vids helps me to understand and appreciate how far you've made it today with your natural knack and touch with these small engines! I'm inspired once again, you never cease to amaze me!
Hard to believe anyone would doubt you Taryl.
I like the sound affects :)
Taryl love your videos. I love the way you make parts and fix older stuff. A lot of people today just replace things. I love the way you make things work exactly what I do and making things better than the original design. Awesome videos. Keep them coming.
Thanks Taryl, you always have some interesting projects. Have a great day!
Taryl is the kind of guy you just want 4 a brother good personality on screen and knows how... There's something lovable about the guy really there is...
he is the kind of brother you use to sight in your BB gun with on moving targets
Best repair video I've ever seen !!! Great carb rebuild !!!
You guys are fantastic thank you❤️😀😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I enjoy your videos so much. People should watch, learn and not criticize. We are lucky to have these videos to use as reference.
It took several videos to determine that Taryl is totally old school. He knows how to make things work and improvises well meaning he probably grew up on a farm where there was some urgency in keeping equipment running. Been there 6o years ago so thanks Teryl for carrying on. It seems to me that you have a lot to share.
DR TARYL …..a man of MANY talents
Yeah we need more ppl like ol taryl I'm a small engine mechanic to an was trained by an old school guy like him I love to watch him I even still learn some stuff. Keep on wrenchin brother.
Just what I needed. Got my bushings and carb parts on order.
Thanks Taryl
Taryl also fixes me. When I need an escape from things I like coming here to hang out in his shop.
I love the sound effects he has on his videos
onelonelyfarmer recommended your channel on one of his vids!! Glad he did! I really enjoy your vids!!!
Need a vid on how to get a motor of a generator....love you Taryl!!!!
I need to mention this.. You've made quite the impression on so many ppl at the GIE.. (Think that's what it's called) anyway a few ppl have mentioned your channel on theirs and they've all said you're hilarious and so educational. You're a genius Taryl!! I think the rest of the world is finally realizing this!
Awesome video Mr Taryl thank you for sharing. Your a genius
I love all the sound effects, some of which are almost subliminal. Genius!
Of all the words he uses, I like "muffkin" the most. lol
Yep, and I like the oxygen and amphetamine torch lol
Mines carbitaitor
I like govment
Nope best is “jerk your deck off”
I liked the WEED SNIPER on the Echo shortblock video
Nice job guys thanks
Impressive repair and great video.
I like the way you do things! You're a better doctor than DR! Your video production is awesome too! I love all the little sound fx that you put in to the videos! Very practical and amusing video. I have a 7hp version of that motor and I learned a lot from you. I tore my carb apart and it was in worse condition than yours, I didn't replace any gaskets, seals, seats or anything, I just removed as much crud as I could, got the float needle freed up again, stuck some wire through any hole I could find and the dang thing worked! Carry on bro! Cheers, John 😎👍
man i wish my dad did as much for me as you mr dactyl....... thanks a nard man!
Menards is so awesome!!! and your videos are VERY entertaining and VERY helpful and informative...the video on the kohler right stuff gasket repair was my first ever repair and it did awesome!!! Thank You VERY Much!!!
This is a great and entertaining video. Thanks!
Wow you are so handy! There's nothing you can't fix! As usual, love the vid! Great job Mr. Dactyl 👍🏼
Taryl can even fix a broken heart 💔with his epoxy puddy
Rusty Zipper lol soooo true! He can fix me anytime 😉 lol
226 in the morning in Oklahoma! Cant sleep watching your videos!
excellent trouble shooting and smart idea adding part numbers...thanks for sharing
your videos are the best.
That fuel bowl has quite the yeast infection.
That thing was NASTY1
it was a female carbaterator
Love the video, and I didn't really miss the normal video humor before the repairs. Guess it shortens the process. thank you....
haha, i just got done doing same kind of work to an agrifab I bought dirt cheap, water got in it thru the muffler and the hoses were broken too, except it took me a few weeks to trouble shoot all areas. I wish I had seen this video before i started working on it, it would have save me days and money. Thanks Taryl for this great video!
Love your videos. Hilarious and educational. Perfect combination. I am a hobby machinist, and if you want I can make you a seat installation tool for those briggs carbs. Just let me know dimensions you want and where to mail it to. Cheers!
I was looking at buying a lawn vacuum. Now I know all the upgrades to do. Gotta get me a blast cabinet for the carbortraitor Your vids are awesome, keep them coming!
The Mower Shop Blues 🥶🥶😀😀😀👍🏼 There’s Yur Dinner 🍽😭😀
I like your common sense approach to everything.
Went to my local parts house asked about a new carbatrator and batree they gave me a weird bug-eyed look any tips on finding these hard to find parts?
First you must say the secret code word Muffkinn, once you do they will then understand you much clearer 😂
they did that because a new carb can cost more then a new motor that will come with a new carb already on it
I try to avoid the stink-eye from the local parts guy.
I go online with the engine number and look for a parts manual to get individual part numbers, and usually end up buying the part on fleaBay. Then we play the waiting game for it to ship.
Sell it back to the old owner, gotta paint dr dacktel on it now.
i finally got one of these tow behind yard vacs. i have a very similar one. mine tho the safety interlocks are giving me problems.
Thx for the video. I just bought a used vac similar to this... very similar. It doesn't have a key for the electric start....it was missing. Any idea if a different mower key will work?
You are absolutely an engineering genius I've watched you fix things like how in the world did he know how to do that like the Wisconsin Motor I mean my gosh that was just so impressive I couldn't even believe it very very impressed love the videos love the entertainment hope you keep doing many many more new and fascinating videos in the future thank you
Outstanding Video thanks Tarly…👍🏻
Another well done job
I have a cyclone rake classic that I bought as part of a package deal with a cub cadet tractor. I love them both, but thanks to the wife's yard plantings the cyclone rake isnt much use at my house, but I've played with it at other lots. It does a great job and seems well built. I love learning from you to maintain my own equipment and to help others. Thanks for the great infotainment 👍
You make my day. I laugh out loud at least 5 to 9 times on every video.
Just awesome problem solving and great fixes better than original. Fun to watch. keep it up!! Thank you.
The video on the seloniod repair saved me a ton of money thanks the Kohler coil upgrade video is that the upgrade kit for 24-548-15s 24-584-36s coils
Great entertainment!! Loved the applause sound effect when you finally got the seat installed.
Love your videos. Kinda surprised you haven't made a seat tool for Briggs.
Looks like a transfer punch would be a perfect tool. Start with the punch side to get it started then turn it over to finish installing the seat
I love all the non-running stuff you FIX! I have to say though, you did not watch your eyes enough
I built one of these machines from a 5HP chipper that some one threw away. Built a frame and some large caster wheels. The most expensive part was the 8" hose. And building the connection to the mower deck was the hardest part to build. Machine works great.
how well does it work does a chipper make pretty good vacuum thinking about this for a loader minus the deck. let me know. thanks.
@@anthonymorrison2167 very good vacuum with the 8" dia. Hose
I have a doctor leaf sucker/chopper. Mine has a Subaru 1 cyl engine, which is fine. The rest of it leaves a lot to be desired. I didn't even use it fall of, 2018, just chopped the leaves with lawn mower until they were almost dust. I am glad you got your cheap.
Great bunch of fixes. Thanks for bringing this to my interscreen!
Most entertaining and informative video thanks Mr Dactayl
Hey Taryl, I have a newer DR vacuum, their is a bracket that mounts on vacuum that just drops in a hole to swivel with a hook to attack by his chord into hose to keep off the ground and allows hose to be longer so you will not pull off when turning opposite way away from hose.
Nice find, and great job.
You’re a hoot 🦉 .
MM
Great video!!! Thanks!! You can fix everything!!!!!🍺🍺🍺
VERY IMPRESSED WITH YOUR REPAIRS !
Love the Grass Rats howl when he gets something to work
Fantastic. Reminds me of carl in Slingblade. He was a genius too.
Curious, when you blast a carb, what media do you use? I would think walnut shell would be a good choice.
David Moran I use baking soda in a handheld blaster from Horror Fright. Works great, it’s cheap, and you can buy baking soda anywhere. Just abrasive enough to clean without removing any metal.
@@notajp Thanks, I never gave baking soda a thought for more delicate items.
I use play sand but I didn’t know about baking soda
On the DR vac you done the extent work to there is a safety switch on the exit shoot I have adjusted bent twisted you name it my motor acts up unless I hold the switch. How can I bypass it or do you happen to have a number for me to get a new switch. Thanks ! Larry I didn’t get board watching this video. Thanks
Awesome video Taryl
I just got an Agrifab Mow N Vac. similar to this. the wheel bearing (Actually just a couple plastic bushings) were gone on one side so I made new ones out of PVC pipe with a notch cut in it for the grease fitting. The guy who had it never changed the oil so it was black, and it sat outside for a year. I got it going though!
Excellent video and work. Great idea on drainage pipe. When it comes to those DR products the price of the parts are expensive. We received several products from customers who had them drop ship to our shop for assembly and found problems with them.
I just bought a agro-fab.
Nice machine however...
$100 for a 3 ft piece of their flex hose.. I don't think so.
I have all winter to Fab it up to my Ferris. Definitely going to look into some drainage pipe 👍
Excellent job there Taryl...I like the longer videos
That mufkin is smoking like a Marlboro! LOL
Mr. Taryl Sir......the Chute you are installing is called a BOOT.
@Taryl Fixes All if you put some grease onto the back of the drill shank that little booger will stick right to the drill bit shank while you install it. Makes it just a little easier to install. Learnt that in the USAFR!
have used alot of your ideas. thank you u saved me a ton of money. be safe and motor on.
I sold one of these doctor vacs, with a simplicity tractor, it was complete had all the parts, and everything ran perfectly, sold both for 1000.00.....guy loves it.
I've never seen one of those contraptIhonas befive but you sure done a greeeeeeeat job on it. Good skills. Love the comedy side of your angle too. Great stuff. Woooooooooo!
Love your videos .oregon here.very informative.
Cottage cheese baby puke LMAO got to love that ethanol right
Glad to see you put a warsher on them bushings.
This Dr Leaf Vac almost reminds me of a Mustie! special, but it is not crusty and rusty enough. lol
I made a leaf vac out of an old chipper. Same design. Great job TD
how did you do it does a chipper have enough vacuum to be used as a loader without the mower deck? what size hose did you use and how well does it work ?
Gotta love the keyboard "interscreen experts" without them I'm not sure how this world would keep turning haha haha! As always thanks for the great video Taryl!
Man TARYL you dah man you fix everything keep them coming love it
Hey this a great fix with humor added
Good 1 fellas
Great job as always!
Zip
Instead of a seat tool Why not use a Hole transfer enter punch ? I find they work Quite well for inserting small O rings or gasket where i cant get my fingers into
I bet that guy is kicking himself for selling that"doctor"now...HAHAHA!!.
Twenty-thirty bucks in hose parts, clean up that cruddy carbatraitor, weld the hitch back on and it works great Tayrl...HAHA!!.
Taryl is great.
Taryl I get some of that flex seal and brush 2coats over those tabs and protect you from cut and use it to seal the connection and protect from rust
I have a similar DR leaf vac. Last year engine crankshaft broke internally. I replaced with new 1150 engine, and the same thing just happened; e.g. another broken crankshaft. Any idea what could be causing crankshaft to break?
Great,
I have heard that the Tecumseh tool for the seat install works also in Briggs
I personally use a paper clip to help put the seat in then push it down with an Allen wrench or drill bit.
Dr taryl is in today’s patient is
[fill in the blank]
That things works pretty good, and it turns really fast.
What did they fill that carb with? Ranch dressing? First time I've seen one with white creamy goo in it.
I think you two are funny and I think you to put on a good funny UA-cam show
