Some corrections: Dom shouldn't have started as the Reverend Mother, he would become her through Lady Jessica's ability on the other side. 30:59 , Sully wouldn't gain the spice here as starter cards do not have a cost. 53:46 , Sully's sword doesn't count if he doesn't have any troops in the combat (not that it mattered in this case).
Dune is a great game to play and watch. Had a lot of fun watching. Two small errors: - Fremen bond only triggers when another Fremen card is in play - swords in the reveal phase don't count if you're not part of the conflict with troops - when you don't play with contracts you receive two Solari instead
Whats funny is laurie was just waiting for three turns to gurantee the battle win. He had those two attack intrege cards for three turns. So no matter what rules were wrong he very likely wins this game.
@@paulharries9558 The Fremen Camp card has nothing to do 'Fremen Bond' per se. The 'Fremen Bond' effect will be stated on the Revel or Agent section of a particular card. Like ... 3 swords normally, but with 'Fremen Bond' you get 5 more swords. But just to make it more confusing, the Fremen Camp card played in the agent phase could be one of your two Fremen cards 'in play' necessary for any Fremen Bond effects to take place.
Couple of rule corrections: 1) If you're not using Chaom contracts, you get 2 Solari coins instead. 2) If you don't have any troops/sandworms deployed, you cannot partake in combat at all, even with cards that give you combat points. 3) Spacing Guild's Favor's reveal effect is supposed to give you 2 influence instead of costing 2 influence + 3 spice.
They broke more rules than just that as well haha.. I love nrb but this particular video is a little painful (still funny) with all the rule breaks. All iterations of dune imperium are amazing
It is a great game. I haven't seen or read anything (though I have played Dune 2000 video game). I actually just picked up this game tonight at my game store on sale, looking forward to playing!
Having read all the books but not being a fan or worker-placement games, this was still supergood content to watch. I'm still convinced Dom is not all that much into these kinda games; I recognised his mental struggle ;-) I really loved that they allowed retconning their moves when they forgot something; that is how you get newbies to enjoy a new game!
When playing combat intrigue cards, you keep going until ALL players have passed consecutively. So if you pass u may get another opportunity to play a card as long as someone after you plays one
I would LOVE to see this channel play Diplomacy! Have them miked up, 3 alcoves away from the table to talk (with cameras there) I NEED to watch them play it!
That's what I loved about the first D:I game, most of my games were REALLY close. Seems this one manages that as well. The other game I have experienced that with is Dice Throne. Nearly every match I've played with a wide number of sets has come down to the last couple of rounds or one final play.
Great watching you guys play one of my favourite games! A couple of mistakes, Dom should have Lady Jessica and then she becomes Reverend Mother when she meets the requirements so Dom was over powered. Since you're not playing with the CHAOM module whenever you interact with that CHOAM icon you get 2 Solari (coins) instead. Also swords on reveal only count if you have at least one troop deployed in battle.
Also, the only way to gain a hook is at the blue spot that needs 2 fremen influence. No one has done it (yet, I'm half way thru) but they keep saying you can gain a hook at the desert/maker spaces.
Also fremen bond means that you need another fremen card in play to activate the effect and you don't get spice when you trash starter cards with Irulan as they have no cost (top right corner).
@@dragonzord6615 Dune Imperium is great but there were some spaces that weren't used much which the two expansions fixed. Uprising is the better version of the game now, think of it as Dune Imperium 1.5 so would definitely recommend Uprising
Great video! I love this game and your group was very entertaining! Holy! It was funny. Some small things rules wise: Pretty sure Dom's subversive advisor only counts the board space you send your agent to that turn (must return the spy whether it was to get around an enemy agent or draw a card) and not previous turns. Same with rebel supplier, later that round it was played and Holly didnt draw a card. Also the princess must trash cards that have a persuasion cost (not base deck cards) to gain the spice. Persuasion (not influence) is the resource used to buy cards from the Imperium Row. The fluid terminology might confuse newer players watching.
It was probably best that Holly didn't win, since she benefitted the most from misinterpreting the rules with getting value from Fremen Bond almost every turn when she should have only gotten it like once.
Thank you very much NRB for playing the games I'd love to play, but I know two people in three different circles who would also be interested, so I could never rationalize forking out for those games.
This one scratches many itches in boardgames... being a work replacement, deck builder, recourse manager and a strategy. All in a light kind of way. Perhaps not a gateway but really simple to teach... the hard part is how to optimize your deck. And you would have to play alot to get there, so usually everyone is on equal footing. And this game has the best usability of a card I've seen in any game... one card has so much meaning... instant reward, what guild, where to place, agent and reveal
I have DI and it is one of the best games I've ever played. I'll be picking up this sequel soon. BTW, yes... I have all those lovely expansions. My gosh, this game is amazing.
I am truly suprised by the lack of jokes about diplomacy- with the amount of times people were saying “I’m going to play diplomacy” I was expecting dom to make far more “oh are you” type jokes
Damn I wish I had known about your affiliate link before I bought Twilight Imperium with them... I'll remember it for future purchases with them, great site tbh. Definitely interested in picking Dune up.
Sully should've gotten 2 coins for the contract since they are not playing contracts And Laurie for combat 3. It's right there on the board, next to the influence track Hopefully everyone fails this and it evens out though the first turns are big in this one
Did mvp terry have a day off? she usually catches these things. Well done terry, had the double worm thing ready to go, but Holly is so far ahead on freeman bond resources she should not have gotten to have that slide might have been fair. She has just gained resources she shoul not have gained all others have lost coins on contracts. That is an agent turn 1-2 turns later
The hook🪝: means If you have the makers hook you can... That also applies too alliance... so ? alliance: means if you have alliance then you get benefit
It’s seems to mainly be a way to place your agent in a space where another player’s agent may be or to place one of your agents down for free when you play a card with the eye symbol on it. You get to place an agent for free in a location that is connected to where you placed your spy.
Not gonna spoil but a well deserved victory. They had the same two intrege attack cards for three turns. So no matter what rules all of them did wrong it was already over, it did make it intesne at the end though.
I guess when this was filmed it was hard to get but its can easily be obtained here at least in the US. I don't have Dune Imperium but I have the CMON Dune game. I think I like the way Dune Uprising plays compared to 1st Dune Imperium which I had debated playing. I do hear if you have the original game you can add the heroes from that into this one?
Really hard to get into the game, probably because the game tokens are what they are. But players were awesome, they transferred that intensity they felt to the audience very well.
don't the no sandworm conflicts not give double rewards with worms? like breaking the wall makes worms usable but i thought they only get double rewards in the conflicts they could be played normally

Oh don’t worry, there are mistakes a plenty going on here.
Yeah - the error on not being able to gain military strength without troops in the combat was a plenty… but they had fun :)
1:5725 Dom should not have gained another influence as that did not happen this turn, just earlier in that round.
Dune is a great game to play and watch. Had a lot of fun watching.
