Congrats on having the game funded in just three hours! I like the mix of trivia and gambling, it seemed like a lot of fun. I also liked when Lorna answered "Magic', because my instinctive answer to that question was "Witchcraft".
Recommendation for questions: If it relates to a specific country (like a lot of the questions are clearly UK specific) you should include the country in the question. "Who is allowed sue the king?" is super vague. What if there is a queen or you are in another country that has a monarchy? Idea: "Who is allowed to sue to UK Monarch?"
"faramir is barely a character" from ken was so funny because that's what faramir's dad thinks as well (and they are alluded to being together in the film at the end). Love the game! Defo going to back it good job!!
Merry is a great answer. They teamed up and had a lot of screen time together! Why would she be interested in the son of the deposed steward? Laurie lied about not likening Lord of the Rings and is clearly indicating the popular fan-fiction.

Looks like fun, but you might want to give the questions a once over for precision. For the question on suing the King the first thing that popped into my head was "King of which country?"
I'm not 100% sure if I remember this correctly. But, the reason you cant sue the King (of England) is all laws are made/enforced in the name of the King, so I don't think it matters what country. It also means he cant break any law.
@@nmarfell1 That logic only works if you assume that all kingdoms are built upon the same rules (and that no subsequent changes in power haven't changed those rules in any of those kingdoms). I find that quite unlikely. In other words, the question is most likely refering to the British monarchy.
There is a legal concept called “sovereign immunity.” It protects monarchs and governments from being sued. It still exists in the states but there are a bunch of other laws that allow suing countries and states to happen in various circumstances. Royalty is still exempt.
What a fun idea for a trivia game!!! The fact that you can suck at trivia and still win is such a great concept!!!! Helps the whole group feel more engaged and not feel like they have to be the smartest person at the table to win!
The only two additions I would suggest to the game are notepad style flipcovers for the answer pads and a sliding sleeve for the answer sheet. Otherwise the game is primed for an app version or online trivia game night.

I think Forrest Gump was a great guess, it’s a super quotable film. My only main argument for Casablanca is its age and classic status has given it more time to seep into the public consciousness
I noticed a game bug at 1:19:33- if Ken had bet on Lorna, Laurie would have had no one to bet on. A solution might be to have an “even” vs “odd” tiebreaker- Even tiebreaker is as you described originally in the head-to-head. Odd tiebreaker eliminates players who get the question wrong until it’s a head-to-head.
I’m genuinely surprised no one knew NZ granted equal voting rights to women in 1893, as I’d thought that one fairly well known. Ken was very close with Australia, because whilst we were second (1902), we were given the dual right to both vote and stand as candidates, and that was a world first. I suspect we led the way in suffrage as colonial countries because low populations meant everyone pitched in with work that needed doing, regardless of perceived gender roles. It’s harder to hold onto prejudices about a subset of people when you work along side them and see those prejudices disproved on a daily basis. BTW, what a fun game! It’d be both great for playing with a friend group and to use as an icebreaker with strangers.

Got to play this Friday with Jon at the uk games expo. There was 3 of us that went together plus 3 others we never met its great to get to know people and find out stuff about people you already know. The bluffing adds a nice layer to the trivia definitely backing this one.
This game looks great. As a Brit living abroad with international board game friends I'm always worried that British-made trivia games have so many Brit-centric questions, but this didn't seem to have any. Amazing!
Thank you! We are trying to make them as international as possible! Dylan, who contributed most of the questions, is American and I'm Australian living in the UK so I think that helped :)
David Acord is the voice of Grogu. David Acord was nominated for Best Sound Editing for his sound editing work for The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker. Add it as a bonus answer for that question.
On the earthquake one... there a a massive number of fault lines in CA. San Andreas may be the most well known, but you'd really have to ask which one caused a specific earthquake or you could get a bunch of accurate answers that aren't what the card says, like the Hayward Fault. Per USGS there's seven significant fault zones in the Bay Area. Tectonic plates slipping would also have worked. Be good to narrow down the question a bit.
This looks like such good fun. Genuinely really enjoyable gameplay. Well done Jon and team for putting this together and best of luck with the launch! Also, Lorna is an absolute delight. Would love to see her as a more regular/permanent cast member.

Yes Farmir is scene with Eowyn in the theatrical version at the end scene when the king is being crowned. Also in the extend there is more of the relationship of the two shown. By the way good game, nicely designed, I would play it but I am not one to collect trivia type games.
I was practically boiling and screaming at my phone with the San Andreas question because all I could think of was the Rock film about this exact question!
Still crossing my fingers that the team saw my Monopoly But Robin Hood idea and turn it into an episode one day. Dom would make a brilliant Prince John.
@@pan-opticon My idea was that the game is played normally by everyone except two of the players: one, Robin Hood, cannot own property, but can steal from property-owners when he lands on an owned property. When Robin passes go, his wealth is equally distributed among the players who do not own any properties. The other unique player, The Sheriff of Nottingham, takes taxes from property owners when he lands on an owned property, and all players collectively have to pay his $200 when he passes Go. If he lands on the same space as Robin, all of Robin's wealth is sent to the Crown (minus a bonus for the Sheriff, and any bribes he might pay to the wealthy landowners), and Robin goes to jail. Any player who does not own property can roll a double to bust Robin out (so he's not just relying on his own rolls and waiting for his own turn). Or something along those lines, I'm sure the pros can work out the details so it works properly.
@@mjb7015 I think this is a fun base idea! although maybe the non-Robin/Sheriff roles could be subdivided into aides for the two main players and have a little something added to them as well, perhaps like a quirk/bonus that lets them fuck over the other team beyond just money passing around etc? But as you say they can probably work it out best, hope this one’ll happen eventually 🤞
Even though I'm not big into kickstarter for games, as a fellow Jon with no H, I had to back this! It looks like an easy teach game that could be fun at family events. I think a Simpsons questions expansion pack would fit nicely here! Please write that idea up on your invisible typewriter.
47:00 So I know why Ken thought Australia. The first state in the world to grant women the vote was South Australia (the first Free Colony of Australia). They also had the first female police. Also System Shock 2 was my fav game for a while but got edged out by Planescape: Torment and Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.
Faramir and Eowyn are definitely briefly shown together in the movies, but it's only obvious that they're together at Aragorn's crowning ceremony right at the end of the last movie.
The game looks excellent and Jon did a great job hosting Board Game Club! I've backed and look forward to seeing more from the minds of Invisible Typewriter!
Awesome, Glad to see Jon did his own game. I will try and get a copy myself to support him. Need to make a sleeve for the answer card so if the person revealing the answer is playing they can just slide the card up slowly for each answer.
We did actually have 4 rounds initially but we found with larger groups there were so many conversations that we pared it back to 3. You can absolutely play more though!
1:05:45 I was an extra in LotR and, while you do see Faramir and Eowyn standing together at Aragorn's coronation, it's not clear that they are together. However, there were scenes filmed at the Houses of Healing (that aren't in the movies) where their love story is started.
Hey - it's not really shown in the theatrical version (you'd have to know the books to even see it), but Faramir is absolutely shown with Eowyn in the extended edition! There's a whole scene of them together commiserating about their respective losses. I really liked Faramir in the books as well.
Anyone else slightly disappointed that Sully didn't talk about his expert knowledge of horses and their anatomy? Fun game though, definitely a game I'd play with my friends

Great game, Jon. Can't wait to play it with my buds.
Such a fun game and fun video! Ken and Jon are in a tight race for my favorite member of NRB.
This isn't the kind of game I'd enjoy playing, but watching you guys play was great fun. Pledged for no reward. :)
Even though I'm not big into kickstarter for games, as a fellow Jon with no H, I had to back this! It looks like an easy teach game that could be fun at family events. I think a Simpsons questions expansion pack would fit nicely here! Please write that idea up on your invisible typewriter.
Jon doing his nails the color of the game elements is so good
Shout out to Carol for the lovely nail art!
I backed this on Kickstarter before I watched it. What a fun concept. Can’t wait for this one.
Wow, such trust!! Thank you so much ❤
47:00 So I know why Ken thought Australia. The first state in the world to grant women the vote was South Australia (the first Free Colony of Australia). They also had the first female police.
Also System Shock 2 was my fav game for a while but got edged out by Planescape: Torment and Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.
Both very good games! And in the Patreon extended version Viv says that very thing about SA!
That was great! The questions are really well written, the kind of stuff that makes you feel like a genius when you know it or guess correctly. :)
Thank you! Hats off to Dylan & Viv who did all the questions!
Thank you for saying!!
Congratulations John for releasing a fun looking game. Good luck with the launch
Thank you!
Faramir and Eowyn are definitely briefly shown together in the movies, but it's only obvious that they're together at Aragorn's crowning ceremony right at the end of the last movie.
Great job running the show Gracey!
Thank you!!
That looks really fun and disarming (for those who are good at trivia but bad at reading people)! I hope it does well!
Jon, you're living the dream.
It’s d-reamy!!
@@JonGracey69 Unexpected self-referential quote: check. :)
Genuinely. One of the best games and best videos in a long time. Can't wait to play this game myself. Nice one Jon
Thank you so much!!
The game looks excellent and Jon did a great job hosting Board Game Club! I've backed and look forward to seeing more from the minds of Invisible Typewriter!
Thank you so much!!
And the kickstarter has already met its goal, congrats Jon!
I can’t believe it!!
I love this, I have backed this straight away!
Awesome, Glad to see Jon did his own game. I will try and get a copy myself to support him. Need to make a sleeve for the answer card so if the person revealing the answer is playing they can just slide the card up slowly for each answer.
This is a great idea, we’re gonna try and add it as a stretch goal!
Looks like great fun. Love how many ways there are to get points. Wish there were more questions per game, but I can always just play another round.
We did actually have 4 rounds initially but we found with larger groups there were so many conversations that we pared it back to 3. You can absolutely play more though!
Well this looks like the best game I've seen in ages. Take my money, please.
Wow, what a compliment!! Thank you!!
1:05:45 I was an extra in LotR and, while you do see Faramir and Eowyn standing together at Aragorn's coronation, it's not clear that they are together. However, there were scenes filmed at the Houses of Healing (that aren't in the movies) where their love story is started.
51:46 Gumpshoe is Joke of the Day for sure
Great game! Lots of fun. You guys need to play this again
Good fun. You have yourself a Kickstarter backer.
This is such a fantastic idea for a game, and Jon did a great job introducing it
Thank you so much ❤
Laurie making A LOT of eye contact with the camera this episode
