Grassy Terrain weakens Earthquake, making Bellibolt's one weakness less relevant, and its passive restoration helps Bellibolt's bulk. On top of that, parabolic charge, with the boost from its ability, will effectively let it live forever, and a grassy seed lets you invest more in HP, SpDef, and/or SpAtk while remaining a full-on wall. Muddy Water hits the fire types that threaten Arboliva for good damage, and Soak lets both Arboliva and Bellibolt hit opponents harder with their stab attacks. Bellibolt is still C-tier, but fantastic in this specific situation.
I will confirm, this setup on Pokemon showdown is absolutely absurd. Giving bellibolt any good item (specs, vest, magnet) makes parabolic charge do way more damage causing more heals. Only problem is running into garchomps but that's handled by a background ice type of your choice. (I chose baxcalibur with the loaded dice and icicle spear and shard)
Slightly unrelated but wolfey didn't mention it, arboliva also gets terrain pulse which gives it a 100 power stab move boosted by grassy terrain, and with the passive regen from grassy terrain and leech seed it can also be almost unkillable

I’ve been using Pawmot with Double Shock and it hits surprisingly hard. If you go tera electric, you don’t lose your type when you use it. Slap a choice band on it and it can vaporize anything neutral. Pairs very with with Tailwind Murkrow and if you put Quash on Murkrow you can deal with trick room a bit better.
I agree, and disagree, i think a certain...Spicy, starter. Is a tad TOO good. 80 bp special attack stab that boosts special attack, if memory serves each boost is 50%. So 120, 160, 200,240,280,320. Torch song haunts my dreams, and makes all the other starters feel terrible "by comparison"
Small note: I would much rather you use the term "Full accuracy" instead of "'Never misses." The former is most moves, which will hit unless accuracy is dropped or evasion is raised. The latter, like Flower Trick, will always hit, and usually these types of moves have far less base power to balance. A 100 base power move that never misses would be incredibly powerful. Scovillain in the Sun is actually insane. 498 speed with max investment (higher than Pokémon like Koraidon and Miraidon) and 1 turn Solar Beam paired with sun boosted Flamethrower is very good. Grass also helps with some types that resist fire like water and rock
Names of my sri lankan pokemon, Tatu Tevat, Itti Tevat, and Vil Tevat, the Volcanic Guards, of the legendary, Temprius. The Volcanic Guards each have Fairy/Steel types with 470 BST. Tatu specializes DF. Itti in Atk. And Vil in Speed. The each have an ability named Fae ____, depending on the guard, and the ability is the same, buff fairy and allies, but with a different stat. They each have an EV yield of 3. This fan Region is being developed btw.
I love your use of a few memes in spanish and spanish references. It drew a smile in me everytime. Keep up the work, I'm loving it. Greetings from Spain
I feel like Pawmot deserves a better rating. Revival blessing is great, as you mentioned, double shock can be used multiple times if you tera electro it and while its stats aren't amazing i feel like 115 attack is fine given the 120 base power of double shock and close combat. Yes it's frail, but thats what a focus sash is for and at that point the good speed stat becomes even more vauluable.
The pokemon that surprised me a lot was Bombirdier with a super good movepool: -Stone edge -Brave bird -partning Shot -Knock off Sucker Punch -U-turn -Partning Shot -Drill run -Stealth rocks -Taunt -Taiwind -Hone claws -Facade -Roost -Foul play -Moves to make it special like nasty plor, heat wave, dark pulse, power gem, hurracaine, hyper voice (not that useful considereing its 60 base of special attack). Honestly, the base 82 speed is the main issue for this mon
THERE SHOULD BE ONLY ONE N IN PARTING! THE WORD ROCK IN STEALTH ROCK DOES NOT END WITH AN S! DO NOT LEAVE OFF THE L IN TAILWIND! THE WORD PLOT IN NASTY PLOT DOES NOT END WITH AN R, IT ENDS WITH A T! IT'S HURRICANE, NOT HURRACAINE! AND THERE SHOULD BE ONLY ONE E IN CONSIDERING!
About Clodsire, it gets access to good moves and coverage, such as megahorn, earthquake, and especially curse. It's okay Sp. Def and great HP allow it to tank special attacks, and it has a great ability in water absorb, allowing it to stay in or switch into an oncoming water-type move. In trick room, a curse Clodsire can be the fastest thing on the field and hit like a semi. I get that many other Pokémon can fit that roll as well but let the cloddy-boi have his fun.
I’m so glad you think that Arboliva is a good Pokémon. I used one in my playthrough and it hard carried me through many battles and even cheesed the Dondozo Titan while being quite underleveled.
When you said you’d post more often, I figured they’d be short videos with not a lot of editing, but these vids have been insane! I feel like I’ve learned a lot about gen 9 competitive in a couple weeks. Props to wolfy and the team!

Espathra also has an amazing ability called opportunist ("If an opponent's stat is boosted, the Pokémon seizes the opportunity to boost the same stat for itself.")

I feel like Wolfey has underestimated Clodsire. It's stats may not be the best but it has a solid niche as a defensive wall against attacks, especially with it's Water Absorb ability turning one of it's weaknesses into an immunity and Unaware can negate swords dance and defence boosts.
Clodsire's issue is mainly due to how passive it is, for similar reasons to why Toxapex isn't favoured in VGC. If you want a Water-immune Ground-type, Gastrodon's Storm Drain can actually redirect Water moves away from your partner while offering better offensive presence, while both Skeledirge and Dondozo are better users of Unaware in the VGC meta.
I don't care what people say, Dudunspace is genius, and It fits being a collectable Japanese cryptic, that it has a rare three segment version that is almost impossible to get. and its cool it has a signature move
Think pawmot is a bit underrated. Terra elec rids double shock of its one time use, paired with adamant or jolly nature it is a solid damage dealer. Plus, iron fist as a hidden ability boosts punch moves by 20%, meaning thunder, ice, fire punch, etc. all get boosted from 75-90 power, providing good coverage moves on top of nuzzle.
This game makes me feel like Pokémon is experiencing power creep, like I feel this generation has a lot of Pokémon with stupidly high stats or crazy moves and abilities compared to most from previous generations.
I used to watch VGC battles all the time and would think man these people suck or question their decisions but then I saw you battle vgc and was just shocked. I’m glad I found your channel and have been binge watching ever since. Keep them coming

You can use P-Tauros (Any form is fine but I think it works best with fire) with a Pokémon that knows either Flower Trick or Frost Breath. You use FT/FB on your Tauros, which activates Anger Point and maxes your attack. You have to give up Intimidate and some HP on Tauros, and you have to waste a turn on your other Pokémon, but it might be good. Idk I thought of this in the shower. Thoughts?
Jeez man, I just realized your trending AGAIN. How many times have you trended these past few weeks? You are just on another level man, keep it up. Screw 1 million, 10 million subs Wolfey coming thru rn
Kinda wild that all of the starters in this gen are competitively viable and they're all on pretty level footing, rather than your starter being a difficulty selector Edit: I'm curious how you feel about Terastallization as a gimmick compared to the others and how you feel about grinding for Tera Shards and EV training while teambuilding
I wonder if Mycelium Might will have any relevance against Goldhengo as the only option that can use status moves against it 🤔 Also thank you for all your hard work wolfey, the content is amazing!
just love the paldean tauros 🔥🐂💧🐃 access to intimidate with a signature move that breaks screens anger point can be used for massive damage if attacked by a partner with a guaranteed crit move (ex: meowscarada, froslass) fire tauros can burn physical attackers with will-o-wisp, while water tauros gets priority with aqua jet don't underestimate the bulls of the spain-based region :P
Paldea tauros fire is broken. You give it anger point and then use flower trick on it to easily give it 4x attack, while also not doing very much damage to it. Its like belly drum but better.
At this point I am certain that Wolfey has been switched out with a robot that has 12 years in competitive pokemon knowledge with the speeds of these uploads.
Holy shit wolfey you've been pumping out amazing content lately, I don't even play Pokemon at all anymore but I'm always fully engaged by these bangers, keep it up man
After watching a competitive video on this game, I decided to do some Ranked Battles. Someone sent out a Dondozo and knowing not to attack Tatsugiri’s slot, I attacked on Dondozo w/ Tera Normal Population Bomb and used Haze w/ Murkrow before that and completely obliterated that guy.
I'm sure someone's already said it, but it's worth noting that currently Todescruel's ability is pretty much the only way to actually inflict a status onto Gholdengo, since its ability directly ignores Good As Gold. Just some food for thought.
Dachsbun is a counter against ghoust/fire types as a lot of counters against fairys is fire skills on specific pokemon. Mix a Work Up + Draining kiss and he gets harder to kill every turn he is up.
I actually really like Spidops. It's Really fun to use and I always give it a thought when making teams. It's very versatile between forcing to switch out pokemon with circle throw, very Great speed control mon with pounce, electroweb, silk trap, scary face for singles and string shot for doubles, and sticky web, and even a priority move check with Tera fighting upper hand, Tera bug first impression, and Tera dark sucker punch! And the best thing is no one will consider it a threat because they don't see what Spidops can do

The amount of high quality content you've been releasing lately is outstanding!! Thank you!!
How does Wolfey find time to sleep with the amount of content he is pumping out, I cant wait to binge all of these videos in a few weeks
His ability is Insomnia

I love that all starters are viable in this gen. That seems like it is never the case. Very cool of it.
2:35 Instead of sitting duck you should have said, “went from a dancing duck to peking duck,” to represent it being cooked alive
"it's signature move would be its greatest strength, if it weren't for its terrible speed stat."

Here we are, a year later, with Farigiraf being one of the best Gen 9 Pokémon outside of the Paradox Mon bubble. Straight up S-Tier threat.
6:29 “Now this, I can get behind, or maybe inside.” Wolfe 2022.
The pokemon that surprised me a lot was Bombirdier with a super good movepool:
-Stone edge
-Brave bird
-partning Shot
-Knock off
Sucker Punch
-U-turn
-Partning Shot
-Drill run
-Stealth rocks
-Taunt
-Taiwind
-Hone claws
-Facade
-Roost
-Foul play
-Moves to make it special like nasty plor, heat wave, dark pulse, power gem, hurracaine, hyper voice (not that useful considereing its 60 base of special attack).

Greaveyard's Fluffy ability can be incredibly underrated imo.

The sitting duck pun got a groan and thumbs up lol

One thing about Toadscreul's ability is it can bypass Good as Gold, so I've heard.
I love dondozo. Not a competitive player but in the storyline I maxed out it’s hp a defense stats and gave him leftovers… I don’t think He fainted once during my play through.
I was just wondering when Wolfey's gonna post a new video again. Then i searched up Wolfey and BAM. New video uploaded 1 min ago. Thanks for everything Wolfey!
Damn all of your videos lately have been super informative and well put together. Keep up the good work you're killing it
Loki has pretty good movepoll!
Stab first impression
Stab sucker punch
U-turn
Throat chop
Axe kick
Trailblaze
First impression and Sucker punch are priority to not be affect by low speed (they are stab).
U-turn to switch (also stab)
Throat chop (nice alternative to sucker punch ) (also stab)
Axe kick and Aerial ace
And trailblaze to boost speed!
For me It’s B
Espathra also has an amazing ability called opportunist ("If an opponent's stat is boosted, the Pokémon seizes the opportunity to boost the same stat for itself.")
I didn't realize that dundunsparce has got its evolution in gen 9 until now
Putting out such good videos at such a fast rate, keep it up loving seeing this
I think I figured out how to use Dudunsparce!
He is really good when he is in a Trick Room team and buffed with helping hand,
and I’ve noticed that he is pretty strong when paired with a King's Rock.

If you want a Water-immune Ground-type, Gastrodon's Storm Drain can actually redirect Water moves away from your partner while offering better offensive presence, while both Skeledirge and Dondozo are better users of Unaware in the VGC meta.
fun note about Pawmot, terastalizing Electric after using Double Shock prevents it from removing your Electric typing
I never knew crits ignored intimidate and reflect. That's really interesting
Glimmora needs to take a PHYSICAL hit to activate its ability, cmon man
I'm always in awe of how well-edited these videos are.
I don't care what people say, Dudunspace is genius,
and It fits being a collectable Japanese cryptic, that it has a rare three segment version that is almost impossible to get.
and its cool it has a signature move
Think pawmot is a bit underrated. Terra elec rids double shock of its one time use, paired with adamant or jolly nature it is a solid damage dealer. Plus, iron fist as a hidden ability boosts punch moves by 20%, meaning thunder, ice, fire punch, etc. all get boosted from 75-90 power, providing good coverage moves on top of nuzzle.
“Now this one I can get inside” -WolfeyVGC when talking about Dondozo
This game makes me feel like Pokémon is experiencing power creep, like I feel this generation has a lot of Pokémon with stupidly high stats or crazy moves and abilities compared to most from previous generations.
I used to watch VGC battles all the time and would think man these people suck or question their decisions but then I saw you battle vgc and was just shocked. I’m glad I found your channel and have been binge watching ever since. Keep them coming
I love how u put so much work into these videos! Now a days you see lame UA-camrs not put any work into there videos, but Wolfey never disappoints!❤️

Little correction torch song is 80 bp, squakability is not so bad all form has regular ability Intimidate or Hustle
Guts is the hidden of Green Plumage and Blue Plumage
Sheer Force is the hidden Yellow Plumage and White Plumage so it offer a good surpirse factor is you are unprepared
Flamigo has also scrappy a good ability
Also strange thing is I though wolfe was going to talk about the zacian nerf
Squawkabilly. Not ability.
Squawkabilly’s stats suck though. It could have orichalcum pulse for all that that matters and it prolly still wouldn’t be good
it’s crazy to think wolfe has been a pro pokémon player longer than some of his fans are old
This might be a monumental undertaking, but I think an ability tier list would be awesome.
a better signature move for kingambit is sucker punch which makes up for its terrible speed stat while still being a 70-power move.

Love these simple rank vids man keep it up. Its great because i dont have to fully watch it and i can play it doing dishes or laundry and dont feel im missing out
You can use P-Tauros (Any form is fine but I think it works best with fire) with a Pokémon that knows either Flower Trick or Frost Breath. You use FT/FB on your Tauros, which activates Anger Point and maxes your attack. You have to give up Intimidate and some HP on Tauros, and you have to waste a turn on your other Pokémon, but it might be good. Idk I thought of this in the shower. Thoughts?
My brother made a team using that and had pretty good success on the ladder.
Jeez man, I just realized your trending AGAIN. How many times have you trended these past few weeks? You are just on another level man, keep it up. Screw 1 million, 10 million subs Wolfey coming thru rn
Kinda wild that all of the starters in this gen are competitively viable and they're all on pretty level footing, rather than your starter being a difficulty selector
Edit: I'm curious how you feel about Terastallization as a gimmick compared to the others and how you feel about grinding for Tera Shards and EV training while teambuilding
I've had fun using a cyclizar, not even with shed tail:
Knock off, taunt, rapid spin, breaking swipe
Stil I agree with wolfey about this having no damage capability and being kinda mid
I wonder if Mycelium Might will have any relevance against Goldhengo as the only option that can use status moves against it 🤔
Also thank you for all your hard work wolfey, the content is amazing!
Prolly not cause by the time toedscruel would be able to status dengo it’d be dead cause of its teammate
I use it to deal with Gholdengos consistently so definitely
just love the paldean tauros 🔥🐂💧🐃
access to intimidate with a signature move that breaks screens
anger point can be used for massive damage if attacked by a partner with a guaranteed crit move (ex: meowscarada, froslass)
fire tauros can burn physical attackers with will-o-wisp, while water tauros gets priority with aqua jet
don't underestimate the bulls of the spain-based region :P
Paldea tauros fire is broken. You give it anger point and then use flower trick on it to easily give it 4x attack, while also not doing very much damage to it. Its like belly drum but better.
At this point I am certain that Wolfey has been switched out with a robot that has 12 years in competitive pokemon knowledge with the speeds of these uploads.
I love Maushold’s design so much. I’m so glad it’s actually a fantastic mon.
I love the sudden angry eyes on the flamingo. 🤣🤣
*Pokémon has a 115 attacking stat*
Wolfey: it's attack stat has a lot to be desired
I thought this too. Didn't know 115 was actually considered bad.
Holy shit wolfey you've been pumping out amazing content lately, I don't even play Pokemon at all anymore but I'm always fully engaged by these bangers, keep it up man
Rabsca in trick room is INSANE on trick room team. Also so are Skeledirge and Dudunsparce, I use them A LOT.
Veluza actually uses Fillet Away to catch you in the overworld. Which explains the speed.
I'm sure someone's already said it, but it's worth noting that currently Todescruel's ability is pretty much the only way to actually inflict a status onto Gholdengo, since its ability directly ignores Good As Gold. Just some food for thought.
9:24 Quieres? As an spanish speaker myself I absolute loved that part, awesome work dude love ur vids
And the best thing is no one will consider it a threat because they don't see what Spidops can do
Flamigo’s body is a boxing glove SHOW SOME RESPECT

“Brambleghast is immune to *wind* type moves”
it's immune to wind moves, not flying moves
Wolfey! If you pinch the plastic ring on your regular pop filter on your mic the thin filter will come off so you can slide the thicker wind filter on!
