@@Sam-yo3kd yeah but he's already putting his family in it's place while he does the same thing again, with the traveling and having a mic in his face controlling the false narrative he always preached so he can have a voice and not ever preach salvation from sin which had an end result in hell. It's just ,all emotional manipulated topics with no end result. Or focus on Christ our redeemer.

Yes, it is a groundbreaking conversation for “Christians” but not for the true sons of God that are set free from sin, walking in the truth and love and have Jesus Christ Himself living His life again through them. Paul would not be in need of a brain scan. The him who would need one had been crucified when Christ was crucified and now the literal Jesus Christ was living again through Him. Same for the rest of God’s real sons.

Great conversation! As someone who deals with trauma and has dealt with it. I spent YEARS trying to find answers to my issues in the church. The problem is that often times the church has a very narrow view of how people become sanctified. I had to go get supplemental help outside the church because the church is too clean to admit that its members need help and they themselves don’t have all the answers. We KNOW what can save people from their sins, the Bible is clear about that. JESUS SAVES! What sanctifies us and what matures us and what helps us deal with our traumas and stuff, we are not 100% clear on. So videos like this are VERY HELPFUL and encouraging!

That same Jesus that saves you from sin saves you from your traumas. If you don’t believe it enough to seek it out as a solution, then fine. But to say that He saves from literal sin and death but then is unable to save from a trauma doesn’t add up brother.

    • @danielburnett3669
      @danielburnett3669 3 місяці тому +2

@@Daniel-do3rwYou are conflating two separate things. Justification and sanctification. God saves us from our sins in the ONE TIME, monergistic act of justification. This happens at the moment of salvation. Man does NOTHING to earn this. God does ALL OF THE WORK in justification. Sanctification is a synergistic, lifetime process in which man, in concert with God, works to conform to the image of Christ. Sin issues, Traumas, pain, ect are all dealt with in the sanctification process not at justification. That is something that human beings typically have to work alongside God to bring healing and restoration in. God can supernaturally heal people from trauma but that is not normative. This distinction is CRITICALLY IMPORTANT!! God is still bringing the healing, He is just using different means.

Paul outlines the experience of the true sons of God in Romans 8. As they continue to walk in The Spirit, the same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead actually quickens them out of any deathly things; sins, traumas, etc.
You said you were not 100% clear as to what sanctifies. The same Jesus that sets you free from sin sanctifies and sets you free from traumas.

I think people just love to hate Carl at this point. People are literally listening to pass judgment and not actually listen to how what is being said can help another person. I’m afraid whatever he does and says there will be irrational scrutiny at times. Only God knows how genuine he is in his repentance and commitment to his faith and his family. I for one am learning a lot from his vulnerability and I wish him and his family all the best. God will judge his intent and his heart because He’s the only one who can see it.

Someone I know and trust and love that I can share my struggles with had been a game changer. Also Galatians 6:1 those who are spiritual should help restore those trapped in sin gently and kindly. If faith and relationships aren’t enough it help ( remember he said 4 circles, brain, relationships, spiritual, physiological ) don’t be ashamed to get some meds to help bro. A brain scan is a snapshot in time. Is that snapshot not a reflection of one’s thinking, beliefs, behaviors, etc? For the brain to change wouldn’t one have to change one of those things-essentially changing one’s psychology and behavior.
Some people could get caught up that my brain is broken but all that may really mean is that their current psychology isn’t as optimal as it could be. If they change their way of being and thinking wouldn’t the brain also improve?

Before I repented of my lifestyle of drugs alcohol and after multiple women and an out of control sexual immorality I finally ask Jesus to live in my heart at the age of 30….I lived a 1 Cor 5:17 lifestyle 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! My brain was never broken …I had a SIN problem and the Blood of Jesus was the answer.
What I see over and over with especially so called preachers is how they allow their flesh to do what ever it wants just like I did prior to getting Born Again. They look and act just like I did before I got saved . I NEVER THOUGHT ONE TIME TO NOT SIN BUT ONLY SATISFY MY FLESH .
I remember Dr Lester Sumrall said one time “Pride Money and women will be the ruin of many preachers in the last days”
Remember Lots wife…….and the woman at the well..GO and Sin No More…
Revelation 20:15 - And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

So I plan to watch this podcast with great interest. Although I am very much focused on survivor and advocates care and recovery, I DO also believe in restoration to true identity for perpetrators. Not a popular subject I know. I do NOT mean restoration to ministry for those who have committed clergy abuses, but restoration to healthy identity, relationships and ways of being. A client told me about this podcast today. It looks like a beginning perhaps???

What about being a mom with three kids? If she asks herself what is good for her brain with every choice she makes, much of the work of parenting would not happen. What about self-sacrifice? What do we do when we have to get stressed, because it protects those we love? This philosophy is a subtlety selfish one and does not work.

Great conversation BUT it feels disingenuous to say this is ad free when there are pop ups advertising trials for paid for B Side subscription. That is advertising and it takes away from the otherwise very genuine and honest vibe in these podcasts.

Sadly. Carl lentz never admits to sinning and redemption found in the Gospel. Only by works is he pursuing and now is behind a microphone once again while his wife sits on the sideline like she did before.

Carl needs to stop positioning himself as a public thought leader. Even an interviewer. Public attention is his weakness. Get a normal job, be under mature and biblical church leadership you will submit to. Serve on a local level to real people. Not social media audience that inflates the ego.

Now I get it. Jesus doesn’t work for you so you left him and the Word and power of the Holy Spirit behind. Now you’ve resorted too peddling new age. Well Jesus Christ still has power today. His Word still delivers and the Holy Spirit is all anyone needs.

That’s what I believe too. He was preaching Christ’s truth so powerfully before, but then he fell. So he now thinks to himself that maybe it had no power at all so he turns to the world. It could’ve served as an opportunity for Carl to strengthen his faith and fall hard on the same truths that he knew, but if you look closely it seems like he’s falling away. The “Christian” label is still there but it’s clear that Christ is nowhere near a solution to him. Interesting times we’re living in. We need God’s grace to keep believing that Christ is everything that He says He is, at all times. 🙏🏾

In this world you will have trouble but take heart you have overcome. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony but trouble still comes.
God is so omnipotent and omniscient that He knew to create people who would be inquisitive and curious about the brain, give them the intellect to research and understand it and relay that understanding to people so people can be healthy. I don’t know how anyone can take God out of this particular equation. Carl may not be preaching or mentioning Jesus, but he’s bringing in experts who are believers to talk about what his healing journey entailed. God used it all!

What a quack! So I guess God isn't enough. We all need brain scans to determine our problems. They both make Salvation and Christ cheap. They take Christ off the throne and place themselves there. What a joke.

I’m curious as to what your field of study is. Also what your thoughts are on why you think only a persons faith is enough to change? Cause salvation yes is free and grace continues to work on us as we work out or salvation through fear and trembling. That also coupled with accountability and relationships with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

Nobody is saying that doing brain scans and finding out what is wrong with your brain will save you from hell. However it can help someone stop watching porn, sexually acting out and engaging in destructive behavior. God uses means to help us. The point is being wholistic in how we help people deal with their issues.

Did God suddenly stop working when people found cures to polio? Why did Christians then even bother with medical professionals if God was enough? You probably have a skewed view of how God's agency works and how it relates to our own agency. They're not mutually exclusive. Why can't God use a neurosurgeon to bring about repentance in some area?
