Jacques and Julia are both such sweethearts. Brings back nice memories of Sunday shows, Cooking with Claudine, Julia and her rum, very entertaining and educational!
Yes, Julia had such fun intros, such as "the chicken sisters" or the one where she was spinning lettuce dry and holding an umbrella (the salad spinner didn't have an outer basket, so water was being spun from the leaves, although she had it in the sink.
My grandmother used to make all of these. I grew up thinking this was how everybody ate. I'm so glad I was paying attention, just sad for not ever thanking her for my love of food and the gift she gave me.
I remember watching Julia and Jacques every weekend on PBS. They were the best chefs on tv. I always say that nowadays these chefs are all about fame and fortune. They don’t care about cooking.
I watched Julia's shows whenever I could, including this series. She was a wonderful teacher, and the series with Jacques is excellent. I met Julia three times, during book signings when she was promoting her latest cookbooks. She was lovely, very interested in people and just exactly what we saw on TV.
Some people poke one julia says, jacque looks at her oh yeah She says do you want to poke one?? He laughed, but i don't think he wanted to poke one see two different opinions but they didn't fight about it because they both loved and respected each other. Oh that was so cut, made me laugh out loud I remember one time when Julia had her own show and i think she hit the cooking sherry too much😆😆lol when she said yegg oke instead of egg yoke she always made me laughed but i adored her 👩🍳👨🍳 R.I.P. DEAR JULIA✝️🙏🌹
Thank you for showing how to fill the profiteroles. Luckily I happen to own a cute little ice- cream scoop like yours which will be fun to use when I try the recipe! Canned fruit from Oregon will be superb with this. Again- thank you.
I made a Crème brûlée and brought it to the house of a couple and the husband at the time told me you have to serve it immediately but as I see it needs to rest for a couple of hours so the guy didn't know what he was talking about. I just needed to take a torch to his house...lol
I'm watching it knowing that I'm not gonna have time to make all these but it's Jacques & Julie, so entertaining. Each year around Nov, Costco will have the 6 pack of Creme Bruee, I stock it up in my fridge. To reduce calories and less guilt, I microwave it for 45 sec, omit the sugar (I know!) it's how I like it, not too sweet.
I wana know what happened to the pan they are doing the Carmel in. They really put that much BROWN sugar on the brûlée ….only the top is brûlée, you can see when he breaks it
You have to have the courage...... She is so humorous. Wish she was still with us cooking with Jacques.
The chemistry between these two is just great, a pleasuee to watch this series. Thank you. X

Julia! What are you wearing! :0
Julia seemed to have difficulty breathing. The poor thing💔
Yes, a bit of trouble, perhaps. Did you notice the sound of her breathing? It seemed like she was gasping a bit.
Did Julia have a breathing problem in her later life
poor women she must of smoked her whole life bless her soul
I love Jacques and Julia. But this episode was frantic and incoherent.
She looked very frail.
