This is the second of your videos I’ve seen pop up on my recommended and I’m glad I clicked through! First one I saw was the living on £10 of Asda Essentials, my son saw me watching and wanted to try the peaches and yoghurt for breakfast. I love these sort of videos, so you have a new subscriber right here! 😊xx
Yes, most expensive items or even cheapest items at other grocery stores. I live in the US and am always amazed by the better variety and lower cost of food I see on UA-cam videos from different areas of the UK.
A fun challenge would be to take an ingredient and showcase its versatility - eg oats, they can be used to make pancakes, milk, muffins, cereal bars, granola, waffles, porridge, fritters or cauliflower can be used to make roasted head of cauliflower, cauliflower nuggets, cauliflower rice, cauliflower bread sticks, cauliflower cheese, curried cauliflower, cauliflower onion and tomato, cauliflower soup, cauliflower fritters, cauliflower salad and plain boiled cauliflower. Carrots are another one, carrot chips, carrot salad, sautéed carrot, carrot fritters, boiled carrot rounds, roasted carrot, carrot cake, carrot pasties, carrot soup, carrot julienne raw and carrot and onion pasta.
Hey sam, I used to work for Tesco and you're correct about the woodside farms being the equivlent Asda's essissentals range. The Tesco value range got a facelift and split into various different sorta "fake" brands, they did this to get around the stigma around the budget lines of foodstuffs.
Creative with the pepper! I would have made mini toad in the holes chopping up the sausages into the Yorkshire puds and mini pizzas with the rolls, tomatoes and mozzarella.
Got to admit you did well with these ingredients. The stuffed Pepper with the pasty filling and making a flat bread with the yoghurt was a stroke of genius. The Diane sauce BTW is usually served with steak. If it's your first time ever having that sauce then you definitely need to get yourself a nice steak and eat it as intended lol. Yes, most expensive items is a great shout for another video. See what the other end of the scale has to offer.
I love your innovative wonderful meals! I usually make them up myself from these challenges. Brilliant content , please keep doing this, loooove it!! We all need to think outside the box,and you certainly do..🙃🙃
Dear Sam wonderful to see you here applauding what you do I cook For a family of five adults every single day on five pounds I do this mostly on a Mediterranean diet and on Sundays a roast 😊
you forgot to float a fig roll in your bowl of Brown lol :) Looking forward to the expensive part- lets see... mauka Honey, olive oil, a joint of beef and a frozen turkey!
Actually I have pretty much done this during a miserably impoverished period when I received a very incorrect benefits assessment & only received half the money, to live off, that I should have done. I had to scour the shelves for anything I had enough pennies to afford. I mainly lived off bread & oatmeal & a few peanuts & raisins. I probably would have been malnourished if it was not for the fact that I ate quite a lot of nettles. I did lose a lot of weight.
Hey Sam that was brilliant what a cool original idea 😁 I know what would add another super interesting dimension to this how about trying this in a world food shop. My favourite kind of place to shop. That would be fun
Food is between 2 to 4 times the cost in my country. For example our capsicums are the equivalent of £2 each. My sister lives in the UK and always gets a shock by how much food costs here.
@@lat1419 It really is difficult to stretch a budget further and cut back to only having food to fuel ones body instead of health and enjoyment. I'd be okay if I could still work as a teacher but 14 years ago my specialists gave me two years at the most to live which was realistic considering my extensive health history. I'm still fighting but the reality is that my quality of life is low and I feel like it's time for me to go.
I absolutely love your videos I've been hooked since you did the spin the wheel to see where your lunch comes from. I've went back and seen more challenges and loved them. I got a recommendation as a new member if you haven't tried it yet and if there's one close to you. How long can you last with £10 at a spar shop. (Got the green tree emblem on shop). Was going to go £20 because it's expensive but all your vids are £10 why break tradition. 💞
I actually thought this was great this one and didn't half work out well either some alright meals like to see with most expensive items to actually see the difference in meals made compared to cheapest
Would love to see you try do this but from an Express store, because you have less aisles, which makes things harder 😂 Also I have a Woodside Farm local to me, like an actual farm though. Not where these products are made. Made me smile because of fond childhood mems
Saaaaaaaamm!!! When you said sliders I thought 'great idea!'...you then stabbed your sausages (rule number one, never pierce a sausage, they dry out) I thought you were going to take the skins off and form slider patties! And then you put the sliders in the over like a cobbler!!!! 😅😅😅 Other than your sacrilegious sausage treatment, great video, keep up the good work! ❤
These are brilliant challenges, thankfully I’m not in a position where this a requirement but as somebody who does care very much about food waste it’s amazing to see how you can pull ingredients together. Bravo
Most expensive items - what meals can I make with this TV, this saucepan set, this bottle of whisky and some Ben and Jerry's ice-cream 🤣
Ahaha. Just food though!
Ha, a TV dinner 😊
@SamWilder. I mean that guy ate a metal for years. I reckon you could chow down a tv
@@BanjoJohnson604It might be hard to make it soft and juicy. It would remind me of my grandmother's dry, tough roast chicken.
Rice pudding topped with kiwi yummo
I think the same challenge would be fun in different supermarkets. Goona be fun in ALDI. Good luck roasting a bike helmet.
😂😂 think I’d just stick to the food aisles!
You would have been incredible on Ainsley Harriott's Ready Steady Cook.
Yes would love to see the same again but with the most expensive food items👍
Sam Wilder making Tuesdays fun 🎉
Oh thank you!!

Totally agree.
I do think a ready meal would have added a fun challenge to this! How to break something pre-made into its elements into various dishes.
Can you do this as a series for all the other supermarkets too!
Agree
From 6:20-7:04 I’m just watching the cat get closer … and closer … and closer … 😂🐱

Now branded as Stockwell & Growers Harvest, but even some of these are not anywhere near as cheap as they were about 3 years ago!
Needed this comforting content today, loving ur content you've become my comfort channel 💚
I'd love to see this with the wacky layout of my Asda. Where's the tinned tomatoes? Obviously in the confectionery aisle
Just when I think the videos can't get better then you come up with this, keep it up Sam you'll be at 25k in no time 👍🏻
Too kind!!
Fig Rolls are so underrated ❤
I love fig rolls!
This may be weird but I think the rice pudding could of gone inside of the Yorkshire pudding then put some sugar on top and brûlée it and add some jam
Agree! Very Yorkshire to have yorkshire puddings with something sweet, usually jam but rice pudding would be delicious too.
Tinned apricots or peaches were the favourite filling for Yorkshire puds
@@georgia_roscook it with coco powder aswel
@@babygravey I'm not sure how well my family would take to cocoa in them, we eat them with our roast dinner too 😄

I think Atomic Shrimp got me here? Either way, koodos to both of you 🙃❤
Pure genius, loved the video. Would love to see this challenge with the most expensive items.
Hi Sam
You should do a “making a three course meal from the food from TKMAXX” video
I would be really interested to see it xx
Sam this is greatness your ideas are so original
must say, one of your best videos yet! well done sam 👍
Thank you!!!
Loving you vids, they are a treat...Rosemary if you heat it , then drain water into a spray ,use as a spray for your hair...it is magical.❤😊
Love this!! We home educate our children and I’m so going to do this over the summer with them! ❤

Really entertaining, I loved this idea. I definitely would like to see the most expensive items! 😀
The stuffed pepper & the pureed parsnips were my favourites.
I loved this 😅 You are so creative and funny. I would really like to see a video with the most expensive. Fun times🎉
Nice idea Sam! Love your videos man 👍
Thanks!!
This is a such a fun concept !
I loved it!
Great idea! Could have melted down your drumstick chew & candied your kiwi fruit. Just a thought 💭
Oh good shout!
I just found your channel - BRILLIANT - I automatically subscribed👍👍

Parsnips puree can make soup with that, just add a stock cube & some chunks of parsnips, herbs as well.
Really enjoyed this. Keep it up.
Diane sauce is amazing on Steak with mushrooms and onions. Try it!
Very fun and nice! But yes Atomic shrimp have been doing this for awhile now!
13:00 bowl of brown 👍
I have a challenge…buy food with the first letter of the alphabet for your food for the week. (Apples, beetroot, coriander etc) 😊
That’s my local Tesco! Good old grove green
Poor CAT He Wants Some!🥰💖💕
I put hot chocolate sachets in yogurt which is nice. Will try it with the rice pudding
I saw another family do this challenge a few months back, they filmed as they chose the items
Thank you Sam (And kitty)that was great and you got such a lot for you money ..well done .xx

We get a shock with food prices in the UK, as incomes havent risen for many since 2008

Glad to find you" Just Deano" mentioned you.
Try this in other supermarkets, like aldi or lidl maybe?
Did you ene up liking the fig rolls? I love them
Also here for this information 👀 Fig rolls are 👌
I actually thought this was great this one and didn't half work out well either some alright meals like to see with most expensive items to actually see the difference in meals made compared to cheapest
What a great idea, I'd never have thought of doing that. It just goes to show that it's still possible to eat reasonably well for not very much money!
I love the not having control over what I buy!
This is such a creative idea lol, how long were you in that Tesco?
Too long 😂
You can get the items cheaper than that at other places, tesco is not cheap it is actually one of the most expensive now.
Would love to see you try do this but from an Express store, because you have less aisles, which makes things harder 😂

A good challenge would be. The Yorkshire Pudding Challenge but with different Price points for ingredients to see if it makes much of a difference :P
Another great video and some great meals for not much money- in fact I think the meals are prob better than some of the £10 challenges
I love this channel sam looks like a snack 😍
those sandwiches actually looked so delicious
I put cocoa in my porridge. That's almost the same thing isn't it? Porridge is basically rice pudding but made with oats. No milk for me though.
Im going to try this u have inspired me
Atomic Shrimp doing similar videos, so it can be helpful to design your own series based on that idea with your own rule set.
Great idea love this video
your content is so good - love from shepherd bush!
Awesome Thumbnail
Fantastic upload
Great New Idea,
Some great looking, meals,
Nice one Sam Sir,
Great video concept
Next challenge you should do the Costco cafeteria the food is really nice and good prices
Please do this again with most expensive items and also again with cheapest from a different store.
My childhood was based around the cheapest things in the supermarket it was embarrassing then and yes normal people have to do this to survive
Atomic shrimp has been doing this for years 😂😂
What was the total cost of the haul! I think you did great with what you had! I’d love to see you do it with the most expensive items!
Yes do it again!
Great video Sam 😊

Great challange.
Can you do chalange with produce from the market?
Great video .. i used to love fig rolls till i googled what was inside them

I get air fryer out box..n return it to box.. ,please do a vid., does food go straight into draw...without a pot,.I've used pans for 45,years.
love these
Some great meals, what a pleasantly surprising outcome.
Now you need to do most expensive!
Do you not all think a lot of the Tesco's stores look outdated whare you look at other supermarkets
Think you should do a challenge in the local Asian or Polska shop
OH MY GOD SAM GOS TO THE SAME TESCOS AS I DO IM GOING TO GO LOOK OUT FOR YOU SAM EVERY TIME IM THERE OK
Putting Ready Steady Cook to shame❤
Ainsley would be proud
@@SamWilder. definitely red pepper wins👍

hi im newly subscribed as reccomended by Just Deano ..... wow you are amazing ... great shop and amazing meals
So kind of Deano! Is it from his newest B&M video?
Yes it is x
That's genius making thouse meals out of what you bought shows you what people could do with a few ingredients
These are brilliant challenges, thankfully I’m not in a position where this a requirement but as somebody who does care very much about food waste it’s amazing to see how you can pull ingredients together. Bravo
Doing most expensive would be outstanding
This would be right up @atomicshrimps Aisle
Maybe do a challenge where you can only buy foods of a single colour?
