rlyyyy appreciate how ur rules include a sweet treat. soooo many other people making videos like this seem to think sticking to a budget should also mean eating miserable bland food with nothing that could be considered a treat. as if ppl with a limited budget should have to stick to diet culture disordered eating 😔😔
As someone who was forced to live without a stove for over four years as it was quite old and had broken down, i used a microwave, slow cooker and a electric wok to cook my meals and it all worked out pretty well. You would be amazed what you can actually cook in a microwave when you do not have very many options.
Microwave ovens do one job brilliantly: melting chocolate. So long as it's on the right power setting, you get beautifully melted chocolate with no fuss, and so long as the interior of the machine is dry, you don't run the risk of introducing moisture as is the case with a classic double-boiler method.
I just had to buy a plug in double hot plate as my cooker went wrong it cost £20 on offer. Its all you need just cook in a big pan noodles and veg and your rice pud in the other pan. cook quicker than the electric oven
I think you may have overcooked the flapjacks. Its happened to me before. You take them out of the oven and they seem really soft but they firm up when they cool down. Score them into squares while they are still warm but then leave them alone!
Something I get from Tesco is: 3 x Cofresh Tandoori Garlic Naan 4 Pieces 340G £4.80 1 x Tesco Tomato & Basil Sauce For Meatballs 500G £0.79 1 x Tesco Pizza Pepperoni 120G £1.05 1 x Tesco Grated Mozzarella 250G £2.55 That will make 12 of the nicest Pepperoni pizzas you probably ever had. Add 3 slice of Pepperoni and 3 tablespoons of the Tomato & Basil Sauce to each one and you won't have any waste and will have enough ingredients for all 12. £0.76 per pizza. Another thing I like to make from there: 1 x Tesco Meat & Vegetable Beef Mince 500G £2.75 1 x Tesco Taco Seasoning 30G £0.85 1 x Shana Plain Paratha 5 Pack 400G £1.90 You can add cheese if you like. I normally get 2 Tesco Grated Mozzarella as it is a bit of a deal when getting 2 and getting a packet anyway for the pizza. But yeah cook up the mince with the Taco Seasoning, place some of the cooked mince into a Paratha and fold over and seal (leave them out of the freezer for 5mins and they become very easy to handle) add more mince meat then you think. 500g of mince meat for 5 pies goes pretty far. They can then get frozen once made and come in there own little wraper. Think of a croissant taco taste wise. Paratha are very buttery and these are easy to handle as they are already pre-shaped. If fresh take about 10mins to cook in the oven. Frozen lower the temp and cook for about 18mins. £1.05 per pie. Very large pies. When I make them I do it in bulk. The Pizzas you don't really need to and they really take no effort to put together before you cook them.
Great video, I like that Tesco still sell onions, peppers etc individually. It would be interesting to see what you can get for £5 at Waitrose or M & S.
defo more syrup and also sugar...you could of crumbles them down into granola!!!... also cheaper oats are available!!!... another excellent vid ...sending love and best wishes from Nottingham...xxx
Iceland do frozen Greggs sausage rolls, steak bakes, sausage and bean melts etc.. An absolute lifesaver when the actual bakery was closed for a while during the pandemic 😋😆
Hummus without Garlic? I will be trying this version of hummus I think it will be nice on some toast. Flapjacks looked nice too. I like the simplicity of your meals. Thanks
Don't have a lot of the stores in the UK in Australia apart from ALDI, so I find them all interesting just for the comparison alone. Things are much more affordable over there!
Your fixation on a "Sweet Treat" when you only have a fiver is, frankly, insane. If anyone was *actually* on a such limited budget for real, that'd be the last thing they'd be worried about getting. It really throws off this entire video series.
Use the crumbly bits of flapjack as granola.
That’s literally so smart! More leftovers 😋

I literally couldn’t live without chocolate or just anything sweet. It has to be included!

Loved your cat photo bombing 😂🤣😂
Well done Sam I think you got a lot for your £5 ..x
This man makes me crack up so funny and sometimes he says things that are completely bs 😂

Just discovered your channel and watched a few videos live your content deffo subscribed
I always look forward to seeing your videos. Well done 😊

I’m quite intrigued for when I get round to them! Not a lot I imagine!
Knowing the prices at those kindsa shops, your fiver is just your bus fare home 😂
Some melted butter would help the flapjacks to bind, or even a mashed banana, both work well!

It appears you got good value for the £5 at Tesco. You enjoyed most of the food. There was very good fiber and protein.

Nice video mate!
Thanks so much :)

Admittedly I just completely forgot garlic haha.
@@SamWilder. Also to replace the Tahini you can use a dash of Sesame oil instead to get the same flavour, I always have it in my cupboard anyway. ☺
That was good days food, well done
Iceland will be interesting!
Someone on here mentioned £1 meals 🤔🤔
If you had bought the cheaper oats you could have picked up yoghurt to have with the flapjack crumble.
Could of saved the liquid from the chickpeas, whiped its known as aqufaba, with some sugar to make vegan meringues as your sweet treat
They taste pretty meh though.
What did you use to make the red pepper hummus please is it the same as the plain one
Identical! I just saved half of it but roasted up a bit of red pepper with some oil and blended it in to the normal hummus
@@SamWilder. Thank you I've made some but adding yogurt it was to runny so definitely gowing to try your recipe
Iceland would be interesting for me, since we don't have those here in the US.
Don't have a lot of the stores in the UK in Australia apart from ALDI, so I find them all interesting just for the comparison alone. Things are much more affordable over there!
Not enough butterfly syrup, it's a mix of both that binds them
Glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t have a microwave Sam 👍😃
Is your dog a Red Setter? Don’t see those very often ..
She is indeed!
No garlic in your hummus 😥😥😥
How did I miss that!
I am a flapjack expert and no, it wasn't;t that you didn't add enough syrup, you added too many oats.
ALDI IS THE BEST
you should go to co op

Ur such a nerd, but it’s cute
Oats should be cooked in a pan
It's OK about the Flapjacks. Flapjacks are disgusting. Maybe Leave out for wild animals? Maybe not. Sounds cruel.
What! Flapjacks can be awesome, maybe it depends on the recipe
Every one of Tescos own products are complete crap and overpriced 😡😡
Thats not true their own brand is very good often less additives and healthier definately not overpriced.
