Things I love about Palladium's RPGs: 1. Quality settings. Palladium's RPGs and supplements set the stage for rich, immersive RPG adventures and campaigns with a wealth of background lore without upstaging the player characters. 2. Setting versatility. Each setting has its own flavor: martial arts, classic fantasy, superheroes, space opera, horror, and all of it thrown together, which reminds me: 3. Interoperability. Porting content from one setting to another is so natural that an entire setting is based on the premise of stuff coming in from alternate realities all the time. 4. Character versatility. You can play as a huge variety of classes and species with a wide range of power levels and play styles. 5. The fan community is helpful, friendly, and interesting to talk to.
One of the things people forget is that palladium is the last of the companies to remain owned/operated and sold nearly exactly the same way when it really became main stream in 1991 with RIFTS. DnD has changed more times then you change pants. Same with all the others they have changed over time. Palladium? Nope regardless good/bad/ugly its still the same game when I was a kid.
This was all my friends and I played back in the early to mid 90s. The only problems we ran into was that we couldn't get a consistent and quality GM, and we knew all the loopholes in the books that allowed us to make nigh-invulnerable characters. The last time we played, we created a 4 character party in Rifts that killed the 4 Horsemen...as 1st-level characters. Although, I always wished they had made a Rifts movie. Especially if you followed the life of Erin Tarn. Could have been amazing.
Palladium Books is THE BEST RPG SYSTEM I've ever used. It gets a little complicated in the beginning but once you get it down it gets easier. For beginners I recommend at least one experienced player/GM it'll go by easier you'll have more fun.
You forgot the Palladium Open House! What other game company has a small intimate convention where you actually get to game with the people who write the books? Add this to the bonus video, May I suggest the title: "5 more reasons why you should be playing Palladium RPGs"
Amen brother! Palladium got me into TTRPGS, with TMNT and Other Strangeness. Still love them, and grab gift bags for myself or others this time of year when I can.
i can reccomend the system and setting, the only problems i have seen my group have is power gamers, and character creation being time consuming, best advice set aside a hour on a day off and go through it and then have a fresh set of eyes go over the sheet and occ,
Complexity was in part on the players at the time was asking for it. Nerdarchy has kinda dismissed the rule set for being old. I disagree that it needs to a updated. Have younger (teen and 20 plus) gamers in my 9 player campaign. They were kinda lacking the "grit" to play at first. Now they are on second campaign and wish it was weekly.
i need to find a group, or learn how to play online. i was forced to walk away from the group due to a few of them being total assholes and when i did play with them, and they wouldn't even try the game either. the best campaign i have ever played as player or gm, was GM'ing a game of rifts for 6 months, every day for atleast 6 hours a day.
We mixed heroes unlimited with ninja turtles. So u were a mutant that was also experimented on. The result was mercenaries or spies that had mutant powers or was a mutated animal. It was awesome.
That is the best part of Palladium, was being able to being able to mix and Match all of the game systems together creating something unique and personalized to your own gaming group. Game on!
I don't think u will read this, but how can I get started and actually play heroes unlimited with 3 friends and me who have not played an RPG before, EVER.
First, get a copy of the most current edition of H.U. Second, ask your friends just what it is that you'd like to get out of the game. Palladium rpgs have a lot of rules and options. You don't have to use them all. In fact the creator of the game only uses the facets that he needs for any particular game. I would recommend starting by creating characters as a group. Go slowly and go step by step through the process for each player and the characters they want to create. There are a wealth of options for you to choose from, but start small. You can always build up bigger later. Then set up a simple scenario and play out a few rounds of combat until you get the hang of it, then move on to deeper gameplay and add more intricate rulings. It's your game. My motto is, if you are all having fun then you are playing it right.

Played Palladium Fantasy way back in the day, Palladium was my first RPG. GREAT system! So FUN! :)
I played back in 90 and 91. It was fun.
The Palladium system is gonzo fun and not that complex like you said. Good video!
My Personal Best System Thanks For Showing Palladium Some Love

The interconnectivity of the Palladium Megaverse is what keeps me coming back.

I've been hooked since I first saw and picked up the 1st edition, black and red covered Palladium (Fantasy) back in the 80's!
Best rpg by far, bought it all again for the 3rd time.
Paladium is by far my favorate system. I've played many rpgs and the only one I run is paladium.
I love the villains unlimited Palladium shirt.
First thing I picked up on too. Awesome shirt !

It is definitely slated for next week now!
Revised Recon, incredible game. One of the few Palladium games that is not quickly mixed with other Palladium games.
You are still one of my top you tubers. Love the rifts commentary.
Thanks, brother! I'll have even more Palladium goodness coming next week!
Preach it, brother!
This friend speaks my mind! If you are watching this, do yourself a favor and get into a Palladium game...today.
Amen brother! Palladium got me into TTRPGS, with TMNT and Other Strangeness. Still love them, and grab gift bags for myself or others this time of year when I can.
Another excellent video Quest ! Couldn't agree more.
Greatest built world if any RPG!
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll have to check them out. Rifts looks like a setting/theme that I would enjoy.

Love the DnD trading card box behind you on the shelf above the ultimate rifts book. Spent waaaaay too much money on those :)

Nailed it with this one!
I understand the appeal of Paladium rpgs although personally prefer GURPS. Nice video 👍
I too love GURPS!
Are there any tutorials on learning the basics?
Excellent

Is there a good d20 redo of the Ninja Turtles game?
Vigilante City by Bloat Games offers anthropomorphic characters in an OSR d20 setting.
@@questwise4077 I will check it out!
Know anyone running a game of fantasy? Just got the book and would love to play.
Another great video keep it up
How do you guys feel about Recon?
Recon is cool, though the rules differ from the rest of the Palladium Megaverse system to a degree. Very immersive Vietnam rpg, to be sure.

i wish they would bring back TMNT
Me too, but licences can be a fickle thing to tack down...
I would love to find Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
They're out there, but usually really expensive.
I’m sure of it. I hope to have one of those magic garage sale moments lol
No one going sell those books too you mate. I would not sell mine no way good luck with that
u rock!
