- A night club has come under fire after booking real life Martha Fiona Harvey for a meet and greet.
Meanwhile Richard Gadd has responded to controversy around the series, saying it exists in a "fictional realm".

Can you imagine if this was a man stalking a woman? They would have thrown away the key by now, not invited onto chat shows/nightclubs.
Worth remembering that it was advertised as a true story but no evidence of it being true ! Therefore her life potentially could be destroyed by his lies .

In the credits at the end of each episode it does state that some characters, situations, locations etc have been fictionalised for dramatic purposes so can everyone please stop going on about this. It was not a stalking documentary it was a series based on some of the experiences he had been through. She can't be that upset if she's now doing meet and greets at a club. She's clearly a liar because in her interview with Piers she said she has a photographic memory but yet doesn't remember what grade she got in her law degree.....

Apparently if fictionalised, legally she has to remain unidentifiable. As she’s been identified she may have a leg to stand on. It’ll be an interesting case to watch
There was never any intention by the club to allow this woman to appear. They announce it, then cancel it within 24 hours, earning a tonne of free publicity in the process. They did the same with Ronnie Pickering too a few years ago.

OMG! Go on then "Martha" do it. This will not go well for your so called court case but you know that already. Be careful everyone because if you go to see her she just may get obsessed with you too. Being stalked is no joke. It stays with you for life and effects everything you. This is ridiculous.
Even if it said based on a true story and they have made her look like a psychopath she can still sue.As this series will majorly harm her reputation due to fiction.I don't know why people can't get a grasp of law
What reputation? She has form stalking a solicitor. In the UK apparently your criminal record is private unless you give permission for someone else to access it, like a potential employer. She knows this. I googled the privacy laws to find this fact.
You can only sue for defamation if the claims are demonstrably false.
The news articles and deranged fb messages are publicly available, he says he has voicemails and all her emails which I believe else Netflix would have been more cautious.
Her ill advised interview with Piers Morgan backs up his interpretation more than anything, and it’s that interview that got herself as memed to high heaven as she is.
In short, she decided to stalk and harass people to the point she made headlines after it, and even after that she continued to stalk people publicly online, which is what made her googleable. She is no victim, she did this to herself by repeatedly doing this. She nuked her own reputation.
People need to be better educated in film analysis. You should never expect what you see on film to be 100% true. Not even documentaries should be taken as 100% factual. There will always be an element of artistic licence and editing, to make it more interesting to view.

He isn't backtracking, it said in the series as writing was coming up that it is based on true events but some parts like names/situations have been dramatised!

Yes the fictional show did say it was true. So that makes it fiction. The movie Fargo and others have done the same thing, because its not illegal for a fiction show to make something true. In terms of her being anon she could simply have denied it and moved on. Contact an actual lawyer, threaten or charge people claiming it was her online, as the burden would have been theirs, with legal action and that would have been the end of it. She could have argued the tweets were hers but that they were nicked by the writers when they wrote the character as they were simply floating about online. There are any number of ways she could have responded that wouldnt have ended up in 8 millions views on Piers Morgan. But I sense she smelled cash hence all the willing press coverage, that and wanting to keep her relationship with this guy going in some way. The condundrum she hasnt worked out is that she seems to want the show to be about her, because this will validate her relationship she invested in, but she also doesnt want the show to be about her due to the negative reaction. Confused doesnt quite cut it.

Erm.hang on a minute - you can't create a society that has purposely buried God, buried morality, preached to everyone that capitalism is the new religion and profit is God, and then turn around a condemn the woman for trying to make money. Whatever your opinion of this woman is you cant blame her for behaving in the way you have told her to behave. It's OK for me but not for thee - is that it?
All the men have made money from her name, why shouldnt she? None of this is ok, none of it. But let her have her day.
This is all Piers Morgan’s fault! He should have NEVER interviewed. He’s done more damage to her than the show did.
