I remember in 1984 when I was a junior in HS we had this weekly presentation where we had to present a short news bulletin of our choice in History class. This one day I presented the update that the military was replacing the Colt .45/1911 with the Berreta. My teacher Mr. Carter, a World War II vet, was outraged at hearing this. "WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE COLT .45?" I sheepishly parroted the articles's reference to improved ballistics of the Berretta. That simply drew a glare of displeasure from Mr. Carter...I'm like, don't shoot the messenger man!!
The safety I love it being that close. In a fire fight it makes it very simple to drop the mag, reload and get back in the fight without having to drop the slide then the safety. This design makes it all one move and back in the fight.

Everyday thousands of soldiers, Airman sailors and other DOD members armup with their m18/M17 and Required to use the slide stop/slide release.. hence the issue.
Personally I think any behavior where you're manipulating the safety during a slide release is dangerous. One of the biggest issue with the m9 is during a slide pull loading, you can engage the safety and thereby potentially finding the weapon will not fire until you release the safety. On the M17, I feel they solved this issue. I also feel like the point where you release the slide and disengage the safety, that is a design intention to avoid accidentally having the safety on during an actual fire fight. The P320 was never meant to have a safety but was a design requirements. On the beretta, a lot of folks would disengage the safety and simply carry it in double action. I also feel a lot of the special forces are used to glock type weapons without the safety so these guys would know how to carry the weapon properly. But I find for myself I am having trouble making sure the safety is off because it's a polymer pistol and I'm so used to not having a safety.

Note regarding differences between M9 and 92FS. Some 92FS have a slanted dust cover, and the M9 doesn't. I've owned both and carried the M9 during my time in the AF. Great video, thanks.

Good video 👏🏼 I am a huge fan of the Sig Sauer P320 M17. It is a grrrreat pistol at a fair price. Very accurate, and the frame can be improved with a Wilson Combat modular frame, which has great ergonomics. No reliability issues so far. I carry it concealed often.
Well done Sir . '86-92 AF Vet . here . Sticky hands at -50 degrees below sounds like Minot, ND or Keflovic Iceland , LOL . I'd stick with the Glock first , or even an unmentioned Army Mark 25 second , FNX 3rd .
So I do not have the injection molding marks on my M18, I also fail to ever hit the safety with the slide release and I have large hands...if you want to make a difference put a Wilson Combat grip module on it.
Literally just picked up a M17 today... can't wait to shoot it. If I was in the military I'd choose a Glock 41 for my sidearm. Its fits my hand and goes bang every time.
I have an M17 and would gladly carry it for a SHTF situation, just because it has so many pros, for me personally. 21 round mags standard(mine came with 2 21, 1 17), plus when you buy the Wilson combat frame it’s a game changer
I’m former Army, and used the m9. I believe the best choice for the next pistol would’ve been either Glock 17 or 19x. Simplicity and reliability are the most important factors in a military weapon in my opinion.
@@heaterfamily Well there are a couple of issues with your assumption. NYPD used a revolver up until the Glock replaced it. The problem is many of the old timers were used to the revolver DA pull so with the glocks, they're finding they found the trigger too light. So they upgraded them to a heavier spring. As far as I know NYPD is the only department that had they "NY Spring" upgrade. As far as the AD situations during the 80s and 90s with glocks, the problem is during training events with new PDs, they'd have at least one person per class take it back to their room and do what they're trained to do: pull the trigger, and put the slide half way. The problem is no one bothered to tell them to make sure the weapon was unloaded before doing that. At the time, people weren't used to "pulling the trigger" to dissassemble the weapon as many of them used the revolver type weapon. Most PDs before the 80s/90s/early 00s had a revolver type sidearms. I don't think any PD today has a revolver type firearm but at the time, none of them were used to the system. Remember, many of these cops don't own personal firearms and many of them just use whatever the department gave them. Point is the safety had nothing to do with the ADs, except they were improperly trained.
Excellent service pistols! I'll take all of them. Glock 19 & Sig M18 (with better rear sight) for carry. M45A1 & 92FS would be collection items. My choice of pistol would be that FNX-45T+Suppressor+Trijicon RMR, or HK Mark 23+KAC Suppressor+Wilcox LAM
1:04 I know the M-9 generally is distinguished from the 92fs by having 2 dot sights instead of 3 dot sights, but for some reason all of the M-9s I've qualified with in the Air Force have also had 3 dots. From my experience the difference in those cases, is just the govt roll marks and serial numbers
Older ones were originally 2 dot or U shape. Beretta wanted to cut cost so instead of making 2 separate manufacturing lines they merged them together. All the newer variants or "replacement" slides have 3 dot sights. Including military ones. The 2 dots variants wernt really common just before the m18 due to replacement of old parts. It's kinda cool to find an older one.
I got one and the only thing I don’t like is the mag release. Needs to be recessed a little to make unintentional mag releases less likely. Most holsters are for the regular p320 and not the m17/18. The mag release gets bumped sometimes and unseats my mag.
The answer to that question is NO. The Sig Sauer P226 beat the M18 on the testing. But it's more expensive to produce. So it all came down to cost. By the way Marines also uses M17s. They have both 17s and 18s. There's a couple of good videos here of Marines qualifying with M17s. About the safety issue the original M17/M18 (P320) was originally designed without the safety. That was a US military requirement. So I don't use the safety on my 3 pistols. There, problem solved! 😆 I got stovepipes with all 3 of my Sigs. However after 200 rounds that issue disappeared.
@@PreparedAirman they were used by the navy seals. Based on that it's a better pistol. Also F-18 pilots use the P229 and some army investigative units carry P228s in .40 S&W. No complaints on the P226 series.
Those aren't actual data based facts my guy....that's your opinion.. The fact is the P226 and the M18/M17 were never in a competition for the MHS together therefore one couldn't be determined to be better. And secondly the p226 was already replaced by the Glock 19 before the MHS winner was released..
Awesome PA《☆》The M17 would be my choice👍🛎✔Proper training to avoid inadvertent safety switching is important. A smaller gun is good for Pilots for obvious reasons⛾🍕As a retired A&P mechanic in Airborne Law enforcement I know our Pilots carry Glock 27s rather than the full size Glocks in 40 cal the regular Police carry. I'm a Sig P365 fan for concealed carry but my Walther PPQ tactical 9 is just in case of SHTF🖖🤓🏈
I plan on joining the marines at some point and I’ve always liked the marines over any other branch so ideally I’d get the m18. Being my first pistol I know there probably better ones I could pick from but in terms of conceal carry would you say the m18 would be better than the m17 because it’s slightly smaller?
Thanks for the video. I've been racking my brain on the M17 vs M18. Think I'm going with the M17. I have a P365 with the xl frame. Wanted something similar but slightly larger. since I love my P365. I'm subscribed sir. I enjoy reading comments from someone who actually carried the items being reviewed. Keep up the good vids.
@@WALTERBROADDUS I racked my brain only to decide which one I wanted. I usually like small pistols. I bought the M17 commemorative. Luv the pistol. However, I'm going to purchase the M18 soon. I used to buy Sigs. Until I had to sell for medical payments. Resale at that time was not too good. Now with the newer models, they seem to hold their value. I had 9 Sigs. Sold them all. Very disappointing on their Resale value. And I take care of my firearms. So Resale was crazy. As for the M17, the action is very nice. I was so hesitant based on my past experience with the older models to purchase Sigs again. But. I have to say...Sig pistols are awesome. And my P365 gave me an idea of what to expect. I carried a G43 for 4 years. And it's a great pistol. However, my P365 is now my EDC. Oh! And yes. I'm buying a Wilson frame for my M17 in black. Just to give a little contrast.
If it was my choice it would be the FN,- 45, w/ suppressor, but that's just me. An thx for the vid bro, you were first on my feed today, unbelievable. Normally I don't even get notified when you put out a vid, I have to search for them, thx bro.
A handgun is a secondary weapon almost entirely expected to be defensive thus the weight/size saving benefit of the M18 outweighs all other benefits of the m17. Its 100% reasonable when you have to carry one on your hip for 16 hours a day. After all, aside from SF/MPs, most troops won't be carrying a sidearm, its reserved mainly for officers/SNCOs. This is why special operation career fields almost always carry the Glock 19, it is smaller, reliable, and lighter than all the handguns shown in the video. The FNX-45 would have been a pain in the ass for everyone. Its too big and heavy.
The army is officially changing the pistol tactics with the adoption of the m17.. no longer is it a defense, secondary weapon.... they are being used and applied as cqb offensive weapons and will be issued to 3x as many soldiers as the m9 was.... it is part of the reason they choose the m17 over the m18.... just like stated in the video, he isn't the only one that shoots the 17 better. Longer sight radius, less recoil, and more velocity.. all played a part of choosing this so called offensive pistol
@@EvilWhiteGuy7.62 This is the best explanation I've read anywhere regarding the differing applications and selections of the M-17 vs. the M-18. Thanks!
MY choice for carry be and is 1st Hi Cap 1911(modern models handle +P), 2nd S&W 4006TSW(well it’s almost a .45 ACP and handles +P), 3rd Glock 21(because is in .45 ACP and it handles +P), Glock 30(it’s in .45 ACP, Sig P320 M17 with 21 Round mag(it can handle +P+ ammo it’s ballistic are close to .45 ACP) I own 2 or more of all the firearms I listed above and use them in my EDC. Which one on any given day depends of my dress, the environment I will be in, etc. I carry every day and I am LEO trained and train frequently. I enjoy you channel, and yes more of the same would be a good thing. Ricky from IBM
@Frank Bonazza III how many shootings / law enforcement simulated shootings have you been when your not under stress and can take your time for shot placement Hmmm
Great video. And I have pondered... why don't (not that I've seen) We have holsters that toggle the safety on and off when holstering and drawing the weapon? Is that a tactical issue? Training issue? And does the Military reissue everyone with the new firearm? Seems ridiculous to issue a new sidearm to someone who been carrying something else for a long time versus ..."the new kids get the new toys" attitude
Great review and thanks for your service! Do you prefer hammer fire or striker fire? I don't shoot enough to know which I would prefer to carry in the military, just as long as it worked and was reliable to shoot accurately. Do you have any knowledge or opinion about the IWI Jericho 941 or thw EAA Girsan Regard series?
True statement but the military doesn't issue pistols without a safety, the reason for that is when you have a bunch of 18 year olds that join the military and have never shot a firearm in there entire life a manual safety definitely helps. Even with the safety we still have negligent discharges often.
Carrying what's essentially a single-action pistol on fire, rather than having it cocked and locked, seems a little nonsensical to me, especially if someone naturally drops the safety on the draw. Then again, I'm not military, so I can't really judge the decision to make that a thing.
Same. I would go even further and say manual safeties on handguns are absolutely pointless. Safeties on long arms are important because there are many times you have to sling your gun to free up hands, but can't simply unload the chamber each time you do so. With a handgun we have a holster, which prevents any free hanging trigger or floppy muzzle control loss. The manual safety becomes pointless as a result. The military uses it as a training aid (if someone forgets to manipulate the safety, it is a red flag they aren't following other procedures) but IMO the value is minimal compared to just enforcing normal discipline in training.
My Sig M18 is such a sweet shooter hardly any recoil and perfectly balanced. Beautiful, reliable and accurate what more can u want. I am so happy with my purchase.
@@scott67nova I am not sure if your used to full metal handguns why it feels like a toy. I just put some talon grips ( moss colored) on my m18. Going to the range to see how it works. I also agree with the quality I have had mine for 7 months now with no issues and just over 800 rounds on it with no malfunctions what so ever.
The M18 isn't as reliable as I thought it would be, it's super picky about ammo. I'm not the only one, even UA-cam gun channels like TheHonestOutlaw and 1911Syndicate had issues with the M18. Also in the MAC Gauntlet torture test the P320 didn't survive the run. Not to mention all the drop safety issues and accidental discharges the P320 platform has been having even just last year. In one incident a man's wife was fatally wounded by their P320, that case is still ongoing. The only Sig I trust with my life is my P226 made in West Germany, I don't trust these fake Sigs coming out of New Hampshire.
heavier The Gun, the more stable. It is proven fact built 👁️ built A 19 X and put weight into it shoots a lot more stable THATS THE GUN that lost to the contract for Sigg.😢
If I could, I’d choose the FN Tactical 45. By the way, do you think the Army should have taken the G19X? Thanks for the video and saludos from Spain 🇪🇸👍🇺🇸
Personally I just want the better pistol of the the two. Due to the DOD not testing the M17/M18 in its entirety we actually don't know if the glock is better then the sig or other way around. They only went with Sig because it was cheaper, 10 million dollars cheaper... so it was a money thing not a better product thing.
@@PreparedAirman 10 million is a big deal if pistols are the question, anyway it would be better if they tried them entirely so those little issues you comment were discovered before. Are you in the Air Force too?
Yeah, Money wise 10 million is alot but on the battle field it does mean much. I personally want the most reliable pistol they have, not the cheapest one because its 5% (10M out of 200M) less then the competition... But Im not claiming to be an expert, this is just my opinion.
They also liked the modular aspect of the P320's frames. Small/Medium/Large frames were a big selling point. I love the M9 but it's a pistol for large hands. I'm not sure if the G19X ever got to that point - I've only seen interchangeable back straps from GLOCK.
Thank you for this video. I been wanting an M-18 soooo bad cause I recently stopped listening to the world about the shooting by themselves stuff and got a P-320 and I freaking love it. So now I want to build a Sig collection. Do you know anything about Sig putting out a new P-320 type gun anytime soon?
I already have the Sig P320 full size it’s been a good pistol I wanted the shorter version. I chose the M18 because it came with 3 magazines and night sights rather than the regular sig compact
This might be a stupid question, is the FCU the same for both guns? I assume since they are both p320 that they are the same. They look the same but I am curious.
My M18 doesn't have the molding circles. My slide doesn't have the semi circle cuts at the top...but I don't think that matters. It may even give better grip.
Maybe you could tell me more about your or the military's thought on carrying the m18 with the safety off? How and why is it safe to do so? How has this worked out? Any safety issues noted? GSWs? PS: I often carry Glocks and Shields with no external safeties but with the m18 it just seems different?
My son is SF and will be up North soon. Interesting comment on the cold; polymer vs. steel. I found the video interesting. By the way, Larry Vickers (former Delta Force) uses the slide stop to release the slide. It is a skill you should have in case you do not have two hands to manipulate the pistol.
Of course a pistol with a longer barrel is easier to shoot accurately than a shorter one . As far as accuracy I’d chose the 1911 . I have a SA35 it’s very accurate
Just building my Sig now but went with the full size M17. I carried the M9 as well on duty but love my 1911 and that would be my go-to. Being a regular USAF guy we don't get to choose our sidearm so the M9 had to do. I can see the smaller M18 being easier for vehicle ops and certainly for pilots/aircrew but I like the larger M17. My slide kit from Sig does not have the manual safety and I was sorta bummed its not an option but after seeing this video I'm not sure I'll miss it. None of my polymer pistols have a manual safety.
You must understand that the p320 is a fully cocked pistol. Meaning the only thing preventing the bullet from going bang is a single part holding the firing pin in place. This is why it’s very important for it to have a safety. Glocks are half-cocked.
My personal opinion the Beretta 92fs is the best, but that's the one pistol I have the most experience with, problems with Sig Sauer pistols are as common as the sunrise I personally would never trust the P320 or any variant of the P320 line too many problems on the past, Beretta all the way for me
Any one ,I bought a nice used Beretta 92f and a used Glock 19 and the both are great guns .And I got a new Sig 320 . All great guns .And you can probably find some at a good price .
I CCW a 1911 everyday and love it and wouldn’t trade it for anything. Maybe. I also have the Sig P365x and the Sig M17 and I must say I am impressed with it. Glocks are overrated toys. Everything about the Glock is just blah and I carried one for years for work. I tried the Glock 17 the 19 the 26 the 22 the 34 the 21 the 29 I owned them all and shot them all and did my quals with them all (except the 29) and carried them all as L.E. and civilian, easy to say I was never impressed nor a fan of them. The Sig though has been winning over my heart for some time now and I’m debating on if I should get a IWB holster for it because once I do then the 1911 stays home and I don’t want to do that lol I love my 1911.
@@PreparedAirman yeah I noticed that and thought same my only problem with that is that you might not be able to change magazines fast enough if shit ever hits the fan
Not gonna lie, when I see people with a pistol holstered on their plate carrier I start to get awful judgie 😂 Also worth noting, I also miss my M9 sometimes, I am an Army dipshit so M17 land.
Yeah it was a different time when I mounted my m9 to my IOTV. Mainly because it was easier to access when being a driver or gunner in MATVs or MAXPRO+s but that was close to a decade ago.
I carried the M9 in the Army. Not really impressed with it. I own a G19 (Gen 5) and it is my ‘go to’ handgun. I recently purchased a Sig M17 and I do not Ike the grip. However, I do like the manual safety.
Typical military… if SOP is to place the thumb safety to the fire position when you holster the weapon, why have a thumb safety at all? (Btw, I do miss my issue M1911A1)
Off duty yes absolutely. But not on duty. We arm up shif and have a special procedure that we required to follow. We are not allowed to deviate from this at all. Using the slide release is required to be used when arming up.Unfortunately that's how the DOD works.

@Yeet Cannon Outfitters you have to ask why though, most youngsters going into the military are more in tune with a Glock than a 1911
You’ve never been in the military for you’re saying this you must not understand how stupid privates can be 😂
Good video 👏🏼 I am a huge fan of the Sig Sauer P320 M17.
Well, I bought the M17 because I like the way it fits my hand, it really is a fun gun to shoot. I guess if I was still in, it'd probably be the Sig.
Firearm’s Safety on or off, keep you digit off the trigger until your grey matter shows stage red.
Can you image none gun people with a Glock...look up nypd and ad rate.
@@hayden8491 yes I know. But a Glock you must pull trigger to take apart. Which means the safety must be off. Gets.
They all get the job done.
M-18 I bought last week does not have any of those little "circles" you showed there
1911. I carry one today. The only drawback is the capacity. You mentioned HK, and the VP9 has been eye stalking me...
I got stovepipes with all 3 of my Sigs. However after 200 rounds that issue disappeared.
The p226 was not in the XM17 MHS Competition. They were not tested head to head.
I really like the new M17 & M18’s. Hard to replace a classic beauty like the M9 and 1911.
Military had the snowman sights yep, its good to change the spring @ 5000 but as long as it works, also change your extractor and spring
Why rack brain? You can change frames.
@@WALTERBROADDUS
I racked my brain only to decide which one I wanted.
What'd you end up getting?
@@regularguy1140 I ended up with Commemorative M17. It shoots GREAT!!! Trigger is awesome. Recoil is very mild, I love the pistol.
So, with the same frames, I could buy an M17 and buy an M18 slide. Then if I want, I could switch slides on a singular frame?
Yes, I've tried it and it works just fine.
@@PreparedAirman Perfect! Thank you for the response!
If it was my choice it would be the FN,- 45, w/ suppressor, but that's just me. An thx for the vid bro, you were first on my feed today, unbelievable. Normally I don't even get notified when you put out a vid, I have to search for them, thx bro.
I got the 19x over the sig, best decision I've made.
I got both, so far i like the m18 better
@@firkang1234 😂 people always forget sig makes the most accurate handguns
@@firkang1234do you carry the m18?
@@EvilWhiteGuy7.62 This is the best explanation I've read anywhere regarding the differing applications and selections of the M-17 vs. the M-18. Thanks!
When the Sig and Glock got submitted, did the Glock have the required safety? Manual safety on a double single pull are useless to me. Great video.
Yes the Glock 19x had a manual safety for the army trials. But once they lost, they removed the safety and just sold it to civilians.
As of Jan 2022 now, have they improved the slide coating on the M17?
I think they have made a slight improvement on the coating. My M18 is doing better them my M17.
MY choice for carry be and is 1st Hi Cap 1911(modern models handle +P), 2nd S&W 4006TSW(well it’s almost a .45 ACP and handles +P), 3rd Glock 21(because is in .45 ACP and it handles +P), Glock 30(it’s in .45 ACP, Sig P320 M17 with 21 Round mag(it can handle +P+ ammo it’s ballistic are close to .45 ACP)
I own 2 or more of all the firearms I listed above and use them in my EDC.
My M18 does not have the issues yours shows. No mold markings are shown and serrations are cleanly cut.
They probably perfected and changed the process.
Your experience and idiosyncratic opinions are what make your video worth watching.
Thanks!
I just CANNOT pick a SHORTER SLIDE over a LONGER SLIDE
The long slide m17 does shoot better then the m18 in my opinion
the safety issue would be equal to every other handgun that doesnt come w a safety.. by that measure same amount of safeness as the M9 right
True statement but the military doesn't issue pistols without a safety, the reason for that is when you have a bunch of 18 year olds that join the military and have never shot a firearm in there entire life a manual safety definitely helps.
I have one too love it feels kinda like a toy with the plastic but still amazing quality for the most part
The gun has issues honestly not new user friendly.
@@resisteretyrannis959 everyone has different options. My experience has bin very pleasant.
The only Sig I trust with my life is my P226 made in West Germany, I don't trust these fake Sigs coming out of New Hampshire.
side note - whats ridiculous is maintainance doesnt mention the 92/M9 extractor which is actually a weak point on it
For military use I will add decoder
Thank you for the video 👍😍🙏 helps a lot ! Now I wanna get P320 m17 or m18. It will be my 1st pew,pew 🙏😍👍👍
heavier The Gun, the more stable. It is proven fact built 👁️ built A 19 X and put weight into it shoots a lot more stable THATS THE GUN that lost to the contract for Sigg.😢
M17 is now the exactly the same as the military. Military decided they wanted the controls in black.
Yep, my issued m18 has them aswell.
Are all of the add on accessories (for the most part) interchangeable between the m17/18 and 320?
What specifically do you mean by add on accessories?
Sights, laser, red dot, magazines extensions, etc
Thank you for this video. I been wanting an M-18 soooo bad cause I recently stopped listening to the world about the shooting by themselves stuff and got a P-320 and I freaking love it. So now I want to build a Sig collection. Do you know anything about Sig putting out a new P-320 type gun anytime soon?
I see sig just dropped the M18x with a new trigger and the Romeo m17
@@tyrusthegoat4079 Oh snap, I'ma check it out. Thank you bro
How can your fire a frozen pistol?
I already have the Sig P320 full size it’s been a good pistol I wanted the shorter version. I chose the M18 because it came with 3 magazines and night sights rather than the regular sig compact
This might be a stupid question, is the FCU the same for both guns? I assume since they are both p320 that they are the same. They look the same but I am curious.
My M18 doesn't have the molding circles. My slide doesn't have the semi circle cuts at the top...but I don't think that matters. It may even give better grip.
Carrying with the safety off on a 1911 style frame safety seems very odd.
I wouldn't recommend it.
Very helpful info, thanks so much.
I will have another update video discussing these point soon stay tuned!
Wait so you are telling me that the slide release is actually called a slide stop? I've been calling it a slide release my entire life.
Do you think the m18 a good carry?
you made a good point about the safety
Is the m18, a good conceal carry gun?
I carry it but it all depends on what you prefer. It's fairly similar to the glock 19 and folks carry that alot.
I took out my manual safety and changed to grip module
M 18 is an excellent pistol especially if you're used to Glocks.
That's weird my m18 doesn't have the mold mark or the slide cut issue. It looks flawless
I have them all but I carry glock 27 . For war I vil choose M17.
Of everything on the table, I'd go for the 1911.
If my life were on the line though, P226.
I know it is kinda off topic but do anyone know a good website to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Grey Alexzander try Flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
@Grey Alexzander i would suggest FlixZone. You can find it by googling =)
I like SigSauer M-17 pistol, it feels great shoots great, in my opinion a superb firearm!
I’m really stuck on glock 19x or m18 🤨
My m18 does not have the molding circles
My personal opinion the Beretta 92fs is the best, but that's the one pistol I have the most experience with, problems with Sig Sauer pistols are as common as the sunrise I personally would never trust the P320 or any variant of the P320 line too many problems on the past, Beretta all the way for me
Nice video!😁👌🏼
I’m broke my brain, what better pistol buy for first gun!!?
Any one ,I bought a nice used Beretta 92f and a used Glock 19 and the both are great guns .And I got a new Sig 320 . All great guns .And you can probably find some at a good price .
If I had to choose between a Glock 19 Beretta 92f and a Sig M17.
It would be the Sig all day. Then the beretta then anything else except Glock lol.
Support hand slide stop release like A 1911, non issue.
I love my M18
are the Frame Size the same Size between the 17 and 18?
Yes
M9 made in USA 92FS made in Italy . Thats I love 92FS
Why not get a M9A3 or M9A4 if you love Beretta’s?
I want one honestly but it's a matter of price.
Would the baretta 92s Italian police surplus pistol be a good backup to a sks for a mm loadout
Only major difference that I have noticed on them is the magazine release is at the bottom of the grip but with training you can work around it.
@@PreparedAirman yeah I noticed that and thought same my only problem with that is that you might not be able to change magazines fast enough if shit ever hits the fan
Not gonna lie, when I see people with a pistol holstered on their plate carrier I start to get awful judgie 😂
Also worth noting, I also miss my M9 sometimes, I am an Army dipshit so M17 land.
(Btw, I do miss my issue M1911A1)
Or you could rack the slide rather than using the slide release lever to load, you won't come near the safety if you do that
Off duty yes absolutely. But not on duty. We arm up shif and have a special procedure that we required to follow. We are not allowed to deviate from this at all. Using the slide release is required to be used when arming up.Unfortunately that's how the DOD works.
I love M17 and FNX-45 tactical
m18is my EDC 2years now 💪
