I actually prefer the PM1 resin but everyone's taste is different. Note I said "prefer". The 3.5 and 4.0 are not to be sneezed at as they are wonderful in their own way.
In the interest of full transparency … do you pay Edison’s full retail price for the loaners that they provide you? Or does Edison sell it to you at a discount … and if so then what percentage discount do you receive? I’m sure many viewers would be interested to know this. Thanks
@@anglewinder It has varied. The Collier Gande and other pens were purchased at full retail price. This Jameson was at a bit of a discount.
I'm an Edison fan, so its nice to see the Jameson in action. Sadly, my hands are smaller than yours, so this model isn't for me, but might be a nice gift for a friend with a larger hand. They are very pretty!
Planning to get one for my birthday next month. Might spring for draw filler just to have something different. Imagine if the logo on the nib were gold plated to make it shine like a lightbulb.
Beautiful pen - and that is my favorite purple ink. Keep the videos coming - always enjoy them
I have a Jameson with architect grind as they offer. It is a great pen, maybe the best pen I own, perfect size and the pinnacle of all of Brian's experience and craftsmanship. He is a true professional and I would recommend anyone to pursue an Edison pen if you are interested. Order through the official website if you want something truly unique.
Thanks -- I've been waiting for a review of this pen. I love my "Eddies" -- I have five of 'em but they've been calling to me for an addition so the Jameson has been much on my mind.
Edison Jameson is gonna be my old man "adult film" name
Beautiful pen!
I admire everything about that pen, but it would be too large for my hand. Fortunately, Edison does make slimmer pens.
I also admire Brian’s devious plan to get you to buy more. I was kinda hoping for something like a “Curses! Foiled again!” exclamation, but perhaps you are saving that for a pen with aluminum accents.
First view
Is that nib an oblique ? It seemed so on the close up at 8:20.
Not an oblique...just a medium
It looks lite the barrel is pieced, or is that how the light hits it?My experiences with Edison have been mixed; yes, Brian is very responsive but the issues I have had should never have been issues in the first place. Like with the pre-partnership relationship Gravitas, I have paid a lot of money for pens with issues, and learned a hard lesson about how to make choices and what really matters to me in a pen.
👌🏻👍🏻
I am drawn to your videos more and more due to the in depth reviews addressing facets of FB that aren't always covered. You may not seek these kinds of questions but approximately how many FBs do you have in your collection?
Way too many! 🤣 Thanks for watching.
@@FigbootonPens I don’t count my pens. I feel deniability is more plausible if one actually doesn’t know. 😅
It’s a Magna Carta steel nib, isn’t it? The pen is priced the same as the Collier Grande (with presumably the same nib?). The price is definitely steep, but I did buy a Collier Grande with the #8 nib for the same price - and it’s really a very good writer. No regrets.
The PM material and color palette, though, have always seemed to me to be rather over-hyped and over-rated. Almost somewhat gimmicky. I’m not overly impressed by any of the PM finishes I’ve seen so far.
Nice pen, and worth considering buying, but with some other less funky color and finish. And with any luck, at a discounted price.
Yes. The #8 nibs are manufactured by Magna Carta.
I think the PM resins and the copycats to be unattractive--sort of a dog's breakfast of color. I thought I was the only one who didn't gush all over them!
