I went within months of opening last year and bought a variety of food. It's within a mile of where I live, glad they are getting some well deserved shine.

Tears in my eyes hoping that I could ever love someone as much but also to have someone love me as much as he does her. His love is very active, to do things for her, support her and he seems so happy to do it as well, as if giving of himself to her enriches him and fills him as much as he's giving, he gets just as much in return just on the act of the giving, as if she doesn't have to reciprocate AT ALL and he'd be perfectly happy and content. I want to feel that for someone more than I want them to feel that for me.
As a son of an immigrant from Guatemala, I so much appreciate what she has done for her children. It's hard as hell coming to this country and making a life for yourself and your family as an immigrant. Like Lorenzo, my dad works as a laborer, as a handyman, to do his best so that I can have a bright future. I'm currently finishing up my Bachelor's and am currently applying to Ph.D. programs for grad school. I couldn't have done it without his support and sacrifices. Sure, we aren't financially stable, but he has always been there for me doing the bes the can with the limited resources that we have. I know he is already proud of me, but I hope I really make him proud by getting a Ph.D. It's not only for me, it's in honor of him too.
It's always amazing to see how similar all Latin American cultures are. Being Brazilian, we often feel completely disconnected from other Latin American countries, since we don't speak the same language, the country itself is huge and far away from the others, and have generally a very different economic and political situation. Yet, we all formed from the same peoples: Sefardi Jews, Moor Arabs, Indigenous peoples, West Africans. So it makes sense that out ways of life have more in common than not. But it's still surprising to see a woman speaking Spanish and think "she's just like my aunts”.
Hello Gabriel, being Mexican, I might be the exception to the rule, I have been in long term relationship with a girl from Brasil, whose last name is actually Martins like yours. At the time I spoke little to no Portuguese and she did not speak Spanish or English, but the similarities between Spanish and Portuguese helped. Over the years I learned Portuguese well enough to only communicate in Portuguese, a she learned a bit more spanish. Trips to Brasil (Bahia) and Mexico definately enriched our relationship and helped connect our cultures, aside from language we have very much in common, our two countries.

Pupusa's are one of the best dishes ever imo, The sauce, the technical challenge of patting them, the spectrum of the sour cabbage and the rich and savory pupusa and a dip in the sauce? One of the best bites of food you'll ever have. I was lucky enough to work with several cooks from El Salvador and they would often make pupusas for specials or for the kitchen to snack on (s/o Etelinda) and it blew me away every time.
Very happy to see people from my country making it here in the US. Being labeled "Mexican" undermines so many beautiful cultures and individuals and you've helped dispel that label. Thank you for making this video.

Not enough people know about Salvadorean culture, we even have a joke saying amongst ourselves in spanish that says that he who doesnt eat his pupusas with his hands is not Salvadorean, seeing as this is our typical street food where you can usually get three revueltas for only $2 USD
