    Throfinn spent 4 years on the farm, in those 4 years he suffered, he regretted his actions, he learned to be a farmer, he learned to be humble, and he learned to use the 1st method. After 4 years he has lost a friend, but also found a brother, he has inspired many people and mostly importantly he has found a purpose.
    He is a real man and he is going back HOME.😭😭 BEAUTIFUL

      What are you on abt? This is extremely sad. It's abt all the people that have died and that couldn't experience the good world that they want to make. It's abt all the people they have lost and how they're gonna tell them about it, but it is also very beautiful.

    Idk if you guys noticed, but this is the first time Thorfinn woke up without being tormented by his past! He chose the “first path” and actively atoning for his past sins gave him a good nights rest. Was so happy when I saw him wake up not screaming

      @OneWithinn Рік тому +1

      9/10* for both
      Vinland si good, but for a series to be a 10/10 it has to have everything. The main thing about anime aside writing is directing/animation/cinematography. Vinland doesn't stand out in terms of those things.
      Main flaws:
      1st season had a lot of shounen anime tropes where characters perform super human feats, thors knocking out 30 soldiers with fists, throwing a grown man 20 feet in air, thorffin killing multiple grown soldiers in combat at 6 years old, viking carrying a whole ship on their shoulders running down the mountain. Plus the CGI was very bad at times.
      2nd season even tho much better written had pacing issues and episodes where very little of impact happens to the point where it was meh, not exactly boring.

    The feels I got from this episode were just amazing. Seeing just how much of a positive impact Thorfinn made on everyone he met on the farm from Olmar, Snake, Old Master, Pater and even on Canute, it's no wonder they all think of him as a one of a kind incredible man. The scene of Thorfinn and Einar by Arnheid's grave is one of the best scenes I've ever witnessed in any show given the deep context behind it. Also that special poem at the end of the episode was just beautiful. Perfect way to wrap up the farmland arc for every single character we saw in S2. Also this JUST the beginning ot Thorfinn's journey to establish a nation in Vinland. He still got more conflicts to overcome before finally atoning for all his sins by making a peaceful nation in Vinland.

  • @TheoVorster
    @TheoVorster Рік тому +25

    For those who are interested in reading along with the manga, this episode basically adapted all of chapters 98 and 99.
    Additionally this episode also adapted the promise Einar and Thorfinn made at Arnheid’s grave to build a land of peace in Vinland, which was originally depicted in chapter 93 (i.e. around the equivalent of the end of episode 20 of this season).
    Besides the standard shortening of dialogue, there weren’t any other major differences between this episode and the manga. Though in the manga Thorfinn’s face during his goodbye to Snake, Pater, Olmar, and old master Sverkel was depicted as far more puffy and swollen (adding a tone of levity that I am guessing the studio felt would be more jarring/clashing in the medium of anime). There was also some additional narration specifying what happened to Ketil’s farm. Basically Ketil retired from being head of the farm having “lost his bountiful appetite for work” (i.e. he became sad and depressed), and the manga makes it more clear he became blinded in his right eye due to the wound he suffered. Olmar stepped up to permanently become head of the farm, and paid sizable reparation to the families of every man who was wounded or killed in the battle. Said payments cost Ketil’s farm half of its land and wealth. There was also an additional joke of Sverkel telling Snake he had to learn to use a hoe before he could use the plow.

    I feel you Bellz, that scene between Thorfinn and Einar was the most beautiful scene I've ever seen in anime, the level of build up and depth that went into it is crazy. I also cried when I read it in the manga. I also got the same feeling of wanting to be like Thorfinn.
    And I have to say it, Vinland Saga changed my whole perception about fiction, it was the first time a realized fiction can actually teach you something, it can teach you a way of life. Since then, I've been searching more stories that has this kind of effect.
    I'm glad you guys loved this season, it was really amazing, there's one more episode and there are definitely more material for at least two more seasons. If season one was the prologue, then this season was the introduction to the Vinland Saga story, it's a story about building that place that can be more appealing than death, the author is serious about that and he works throughout every arc teaching us how to build it, it's his life mission. There are many more beautiful scenes to come, I hope you guys stay here to watch them in the future.

    I CANNOT say enough…. VINLAND IS PEAKLAND. This is one of the rare jewels in anime that has the ability to make many cry JUST from dialogue through many episodes. Thorfinn is doing it!!! From him saying, “what is it that I want to do?” TO “I know what I need to do.” 😩 I’m so freaking proud of our man Thorfinn. Arnheid’s character was VITAL in this season. So for people saying she was too focused on… sit down. She is (in some ways unfortunately) the CATALYST to what Thorfinn & Einar are about to do. Canute doing what he did gave me MAD respect for that man. So freaking good. Masterpiece. Next episode, Home, is about to be emotional… 🥹 That callback to the beginning of this season… “carve it”. @@pvrify nah, Zuko is the flagship of Redemption arcs, I'm sorry. Thorfinn, goes from killing people, to depression, to realization, to pacifist. It's a complete upward climb for him.
      While Zukos is more like a line graph. Getting slowly higher but making the same mistakes, going up and down yet progressing slowly. You see glimpses of what he COULD be like, and those glimpses are more common as time goes on. It becomes so cathartic when he finally stops making those mistakes, and joins the crew.
      Basically what I'm saying is, Zukos is better because he was a Villain. Thorfinn, even with all the people he killed, wasn't. So a redemption arc fits better for a character who is framed that way, rather than one who only kinda is.

      @@liamhewton6989 I have read the manga.
      Even tho I had my problems with ending, it is no where near worst one. Pacing and rushing was the main issue. Readers were crammed with new found informations which some of them are unnecessary.
      I disagree with the argument of no resolution to main conflict in ending. Because titans powers always was the main conflicts and what started the entire history of bloodshed in the first place. Humans were just slave to power. Eldians, Marley and the world are no different. The moment they got power in hand, they begin to seek destruction and greed. Circle of violence starts there.
      You can't solve that by destroying the planet and everyone on it. Thats not how wars works.
      Eren never was supposed to win, sins of the past is resolved with alliance becoming new tyber family, the authority they can use to negociate peace. The rest is in the hands of new generations to come. Ending was very fitting concept of the narrative of AOT being grey in morality.

    It's far from over. Plenty of new developments and dope moments in the future.
    But if this is the last season of VS that we get, then it's definitely a beautiful note to end it on

  • @andrealorenzi453
    @andrealorenzi453 Рік тому +4

    If they keep this pacing, VS will have a total of 4 seasons, with each season adapting a "part" or chapter of the story: season 1 was the prologue, season 2 was the Slave arc, season 3 will adapt the next part (already completed in the manga), and season 4 will adapt the 4th and final part of the story (currently ongoing)
    Anyway, this episode and season is a 10/10 for sure. So much love and care put into this adaptation 😭😭

    These last two seasons have been some of the best anime I’ve watched. But having been caught up with the manga. If they animate this series up to even at least 175 chapters. You two in specific might call this your favorite piece of media ever.

I always find it funny to watch reactors watch this anime becuase it shows their morality and how they view things when they react to certain parts of this show

    "Carve it into your flesh
    Let your pain and suffering leave a mark on you, learn from it, live by it.
    "Carve it into the land"
    Don't stop being better person on your own, spread it, make an impact on people around you.
    "Carve it into the sea"
    Explore vast distances, discover and learn new things.
    "Carve it into your spoils, carve it into your enemies" Make sure people who are against you get that impact as well. Make sure your voice is heard and that they remember it.
    "Carve what you feel into me"
    For those who root for you, make sure they understand your passion, your desire to be a good person"
    "Carve that encounter into me"
    Never lose hope, always know that there is a bright side to everything. Always know there is good in people.
    This line was the intro for the first episode. After experiencing all of these trials and tribulations, it all makes sense now.

    Yoo I can not wait till you two see Season 3. IMO it’ll blend the action of S1 & the continued evolution of Thorfinn from S2, plus a few new dope characters, especially ones that want to make Thorfinn answer personally for things he did in the past *or* turn him back into who he used to be.
    Plus Floki’s bum ass is still out there despite putting the hit out on Thors in the first place.
    Roald/Snake is a G btw, really wanna see his backstory some day.

    Thorfinn literally showed another path to Canute.
    Canute was hating what he was doing but felt that there were no other options (the whole seeing his father head saying how much he is horrible and blah blah. Symbolize his fathers teaching about ruling). Thorfinn gave Canute a new (harder) path but also a HOPE that was not there before. In fact he doesnt see anymore is fathers head talking shit to him while leaving. I find it beautiful
