People just don't understand the sheer excitement and exhilaration you get from starting up and driving a BMW performance or M vehicle. My M550i is my weekend car and I giggle with delight when I open my eyes on Friday morning (yes, Friday is the weekend for me).
Coming from a loud RT charger owner, this car sounds good. Better than I originally thought. I was honestly expecting some vacuum noises 🤣. Almost sounds like a v8
I honestly dont think that it needs that much sound wise. You buy the m340i if you don't want the whole M3, you want a even better daily. Or you just cant afford the m3. But I feel like its a very well refined vehicle
I Have a 21, and honestly it’s not that bad. People are so fascinated and addicted to “pops and bangs” they don’t realize what the 48v mh does, I get great gas mileage and drive In sport all day and night. It still has a few here and there but nothing over the top for what the car is. The b58 sounds so good just hearing high rpm and turbo is much more infections than overrun but to each is own.

B58 is notoriously known for being reliable and balanced, and it's the same thing used in the Toyota Supra as per their collaboration. The check engine light coming on probably won't happen unless you're flooring it constantly from a cold start/didn't adhere to the break-in period.

@@liamlindsay1458 no because I only ever used the AC controls, Apple car play , and the I drive knob in my 2022 x5 and 2019 540i. So in the M340i all I use is Apple car play (zero difference ), the I drive 8 physical knob (no difference ) , and the AC control is digital and not physical but the AC digital control is permanently fixed on the screen so it makes no difference to me . Frankly I have no Idea what people are bitching about? Maybe because I work in technology. For what it’s worth, I test drove a Tesla and that was ridiculously triggering for me and the m340i doesn’t even come close. I can understand the Tesla controls being extremely annoying to people but the bmw doesn’t have the same layout of physical to digital controls to that extreme. What I don’t like about the interior is the little lip shifter. It feels awkward and looks odd. I much prefer a stick shifter. Changing from reverse to drive feels Like fingering a clit. Totally awkward feel

Why weekend drive it? M-lites are comfortable enough to daily unless the sheer amount of miles you drive is a lot.
