Jesse Ventura was delighted to find out from the wardrobe department that his arms were one inch bigger than Arnold Schwarzenegger's. He suggested to Schwarzenegger that they measure arms, with the winner getting a bottle of champagne. Ventura lost, because Schwarzenegger had told the wardrobe department to tell Ventura that his arms were bigger.

@@famyemil Arnold loves to fool around with everybody from what I hear. He's from everything I've ever heard very personable, friendly, and has a great sense of humor. I think a lot of it comes from at one point he owned and operated a brick company so he's been a regular worker he doesn't look down on people.

Fun fact, the guys they got to play as all those extra Predators were the 1989 LA Lakers. Kevin Peter Hall, the Predator himself, was friends with one of the players Larry Drew and knew that Danny Glover was a Lakers fan. So Kevin asked production to bring them on board. It's also the reason why the film's budget spent is a little higher than it should be.

Personally, the best part about this film is how mysterious the Predator itself is. Aside from surface stuff like appearance, equipment, skills, and personality (all of which are revealed late in the film and through subtle means), we get to know next to nothing about it. And since it’s such an interesting creature, you want to get to know more about it. It really makes you wonder what kind of world this is and how it came to be. Such a brilliant film.

Jesse Ventura is a Vietnam veteran. I believe he was a navy seal. The reason why it feels like a realistic portrayal is because he was giving his input on how to do it better. When Dillon's arm get's blown off by the Predator's shoulder cannon, in the old VHS 'pan & scan' version, you can see Carl Weathers' real arm blatantly tucked behind his jacket going down into his trousers. It's much harder to notice in widescreen since it cuts off his waistline.

Fun fact: When Arnold stabs the guy and says the line "Stick around" that line was apparently improvised.
Another fun fact, when trying on outfits for the movie, Jesse Ventura realized his arm sleeve was bigger than Arnold's, being so proud of this he challenged Arnold to see who's got the bigger arm, knowing that his was bigger. However, Arnold had his outfit sleeves smaller on purpose, when Jesse showed him his arm Arnold revealed his arm true size. The loser of the challenge was to pay a dinner to the winner, Jesse Ventura payed Arnold dinner that night.

Hands-down, one of the best movies of all time… Definitely my top action film. Pretty curious how 2, almost 3 governors came out of the same picture.
Definitely got to give props to Alan Silvestri, the theme song to predator is instantly recognizable . He also did the music for the avengers.

He's a fantastic actor, and they go out of their way to make him appear bad ass (ripping off a car door and using it as a riot shield), but i still can't buy "im getting too old for this shit" danny glover as the guy who takes out a predator. Wesley Snipes on the other hand...the day walker vs. the predator. Now that might have been a good fight.

I was lucky enough to visit Winston studios back in 98, and see the original Predator suite, including all the artwork and sketches that led up to the final design.
