When Dillon's arm get's blown off by the Predator's shoulder cannon, in the old VHS 'pan & scan' version, you can see Carl Weathers' real arm blatantly tucked behind his jacket going down into his trousers. It's much harder to notice in widescreen since it cuts off his waistline.
Fun fact: When Arnold stabs the guy and says the line "Stick around" that line was apparently improvised. Another fun fact, when trying on outfits for the movie, Jesse Ventura realized his arm sleeve was bigger than Arnold's, being so proud of this he challenged Arnold to see who's got the bigger arm, knowing that his was bigger. The slow pace at the beginning. The action took its time to start. We got time to get known the characters. There was time to envolve a bond to them. Iconic lines, iconic scenes and the music that elevates every moment to the next level! At that time movies have their own soundtrack! It's a masterpiece hands down. I felt that as a kid. That's why I hated part 2 with Danny Glover. After a bunch of "only show, no style" action flicks, I started to like it! That's is good directing too but nowhere as good as the real one! James Cameron only raises bars.
James rofle and pat consomething absolutely need to flea market madness collab.
Love the Predator, showed both my nephews the movie some years back, they loved it too. Glad older movies can still grab newer gen interest.
With all these Schwarzenegger films, you guys have been doing it'd be cool to have Arnold himself pay a visit to the Voorhees Memorial Center next to Caldoor to say hi and rent a movie
That would be amazing
Never felt like I needed to see this as I’ve watched Predator 30 times....now I see it’s Pat and Kieran....awesome!!
I worked at the company that did the graphics for the movie (RGA). The worst place I ever worked for.
Why was it the worst?
AVGN has been my favorite since 2006. Rental reviews has recently become my other favorite. Awesome show!
One of my favorites as a kid
I actually still haven’t seen Predator in its entirety, I really want to though. But I remember the first time I ever saw anything Predator, it was this one. My dad and I were just channel surfing and he turned this on, we got into it over half way in. I think Arnold was actually the only guy left when I watched it. And I kept asking my dad questions, “Whats that thing? Why is that guy covering himself in mud. Is he gonna be ok?” And my dad was explaining everything about the Predator, it sounded so cool! What a good memory.
Awesome, only rental review I’ve closed out of. Thanks Pat!

Why
The most dangerous game was written in 1924 and inspired countless films and stories. If you haven’t read it , it’s great. It stills maintains the same dread after almost 100 years.
Was Jim Hopper from Stranger Things named after Jim Hopper in this?
I think it possible since the director love 80-90's stuff
I love hearing you guys talk about these movies. Good stuff!!
I love how James pronounces Pwrrdrrrdrrrr
James compared Predator to the Most Dangerous Game. The Pest was like a spin on the Most Dangerous Game. So you could say Predator and The Pest are basically the same kind of movie 😂
One of my favourite of all time.
AWESOME! Finally you review Predator. I saw this in the theater as a kid, I remember it. I've seen it like 50 times. I believe it to be the best action movie of all time.
I've met exactly one man named Dutch in my life, and he's the complete opposite of Arnold.
does he have a plan?
me too, i knew one man called dutch and he is a librarian
Can Kieran ever, like, finish a sentence, like, without saying like?
Each time I've introduced my elder sons to Predator I've skipped the opening scene of the ship arriving.
My youngest son turns 13 in January, so the tradition will continue then as we watch this and the Terminator series.
Why do you skip the scene? I've never seen this so I don't necessarily get why you would
Nevermind I see why I wasn't far enough into the review
What weird is I never noticed the ship (or missed it) until 15 years later. I love it but I already know what's about to go down
Predator 2 is great also. I loved both as a kid.
That laugh he does at the end of the movie still creeps me out
It's creepy for what it signifies, but it sounded way too human to me.
@@lotus-prince I think that's what is so unsettling about it to me. I believe he was mimicking Billy's laugh and did it so well just to screw with Dutch which is pretty messed up
@@turnerlarson12 Oh, I hadn't considered that. That's a whole other dynamic. :-D
It's too bad Arnold never reprised his role as Dutch in any of the sequels.
A timeless classic with a fantastic Soundtrack
Also used in Mac n Me
The slow pace at the beginning.
Thanks for the vid Guys!
You should also review Predator 2 and The Relic.
Such an awesome conversation about my favorite Arnold movie.. Thanks, guys!
James get cool points for referencing The Most Dangerous Game.
but yet seems they fail to realize its based on a classic story from 1924, which has had more versions of it made than almost any other story. well worth the read, and once you do, you'll see how so many modern movies reference it
Thanks for the time travel of the day bro. I needed to go back to my childhood today
Hey Pat The NES Punk! We have NOT forgotten Diablo Immortal!
I never saw the predator without the mask for a long time and figured he was just a guy under it. Then I finally saw that scene in middle school and freaked out.
Still waiting for a review of one of them movies for mom and dad.
Look for Margaret Cho's monologue titled "Beaver Fever".
I read once that the whole idea for this movie came from a running joke in Hollywood at the time about the Rocky movies. After beating Drago in Rocky IV, the joke was, "alright, who can top Drago? An alien, obviously."
