- This Bible study brings clarification to the translation of the Greek word kurios in scripture. It is a cultural term used to show respect when addressing an official who has authority and can be translated as “sir”, “master”, or “lord.”

Hi, I finally understood a number of verses that I were struggling with, such as John 10:34. Thank you.
Thank you sir.
You are so right even in 1 Peter 3:6 it says like sarah, who obeyed Abraham as called him lord. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear. So as you said it translated in different way
Great message. Isn't it amazing that main stream chruches aren't teaching this basic fundemental truth.
Jeremiah 23:27
With their dreams that they keep telling each other, they hope to cause my people to forget my name, just as their ancestors forgot my name when they worshipped Ba‘al.
Alhamdulillah...thanks for your explanation regarding Lord term.
My friend ..christian....so believe that Jesus was a god based on Roman 10:9 .
TANK YOU A LOT
Surely it would be better to refer to the original Hebrew words? Greek was only another translation of the original text.
I'm pleased you are using the correct pronunciation and aren't saying, "Kourios" but "Kyrios" though you are wrong about the feminine form. You said "kyrie" which is the vocative form of the masculine "kyrios". The feminine is "kyria".
See 2John 1:1,5.
To ShuttergirlUK, the OT was written in Hebrew but the NT was written in Greek, so Greek is very important. It is true that the OT was translated in Greek and that is known as the Septuagint or LXX for short.
Psalms 110 most Bibles read Lord will sit at the Lord's right-hand which doesn't make any sense but if you look at the original Hebrew text from the Scrolls the first word is Yahweh in Hebrew Jehovah in English the second Lord refers to his son because he's going to put the stool underneath his feet Paul enemies underneath his feet so we're talking about a real father and a real son here so the second Lord and Psalms 110 refers to Jesus Christ so now you have Jehovah be in the almighty God and his son Jesus Christ scriptures don't lie
The original NT is in greek... Jew/Hebrew reject christ and don't honor the NT
