THE CORRECT WAY TO UNDERSTAND JOHN 1:1. JOHN 1:1 SHOULD SAY "IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, and THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, AND THE WORD WAS DIVINE (GODLY). NOT BEING GOD. YOU CANT "BE WITH" AND BE SOMETHING. ITS EITHER OR.
In mathew 26;39 Jesus says not as I will but as thou wilt. Since each have separate wills, doesn't that make them two separate persons?

The Word is associated with the Spirit for breath of God. All of the Word inspired by the Holy Spirit. Not sure how that fits in if we use that in place of Word. I know right now God is on the throne and Jesus is at His right hand interceding for us. They are in separate places with different functions as our concern.
Was not God always wise, since YHWH had no beginning, his wisdom likewise was without beginning, but rather it says regarding his first creation, “YHWH possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old. This is the puzzle Christians have to solve. What is the "word was God" ????? I too cannot understand.

The right thing to do with regards to understanding the relationship between God and His Son, is to consider the entire scope of scripture in order to establish the precise meaning.
The word of God, or utterances of God, or commands of God, were expressed as a force in the creation of the universe. The origins of everything that has ever existed, have been in the mind of God from before the beginning of creation. Jesus Christ was at the centre of God's plans from before the beginning of the universe, where the word (thoughts and intentions) would manifest itself as Jesus at the appointed time.

wow, that sparkled in me the hope that this weird doctrine of the trinity may really be false. But I still need the refutation for all verses that seem to teach something like the trinity. I'll keep watching your content.

I interpret John 1:1c the same way you do. After independent study.
Two things I'm having problems with that I could use clarity on: Saying "God was" puts God in the past tense and it seems hard to except that John intended to refer to God as someone in the past. Secondly, however we translate things today, the early church understood a trinity. I'd assume their understand of the Greek was more accurate than any translation we have today. If I'm missing something I'd love to hear.
only to say that not only now, but it "was" also in the beginning. not a new thing. All things were created for the purpose of the manifestation of the Son of God. in other words all things were and are and will be created because God wanted to have a Son. A son who would be a King and have a Kingdom to rule over. Therefore, in the beginning God created the heaven and earth...all things were created for the purpose of the Son of God. we make up that Kingdom for his dear Son.
He is not contradicting himself. He is using 2 different arguments to debunk 2 different arguments.

Mt 28:18 Jesus said "all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth". No Trinity here.
But in Mt 28:19 ... baptise in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
That makes it sound like there could be a Trinity. This is one of the verses pointed out to me often in church (Bapitst) to show that there is a Trinity.

God asked us to study in 2 Tim 2:15. Study takes effort and reasoning. You can tell a lot by the conclusions one gives from their studying.
Example: If someone claims to be great at math, and their conclusion is, 1 + 1 = 5, then it is obvious they don't care about being rational and honest about their study in math.
The same is true with the Trinity. If a person says they know scripture and their conclusion is there is one 100% God, and yet they believe Jesus Christ is 100% God and the Holy Spirit is 100% God, then it is clear they don't care about study in the sense of being rational and honest. Three 100% Gods do not equal one 100% God. So they go and make excuses for their poor study results as if they are so holier than thou for their 3 in 1 God..
If God asks us to study and rightly divide His word, then it is shameful to come to an illogical conclusion. If a conclusion comes out to be illogical, then something went wrong in their study.

I have tried to say the same things in my three books, but this world, which is under the control of Satan (1 John 5:19) will not be liberated from all of its biblical distortions until the return of the Great Liberator to this darkened world. I believe that Jesus is created, and just as the sciptures plainly say he is God's son. But that he also did have a pre-human existence. The problem with your line of argument for John 1:1 regarding the word not = Jesus is that that the Revelations was written before John 1:1, and there it says at Rev 19:13: “He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.”

No Rasmus, he is not eternal. he has a beginning. John is the only one of the 4 in the gospels who wrote from a proleptic view, that is to say that john wrote as if these things have already come to pass.

The term "him" should properly be "It," but the translators changed it to Him as a personification technique. They did this to reinforce their trinitartian views.`
Thank you David J I have just watched a sir Buzzard video on John 1 and he explained what you just said. I have just come across the whole biblical unitarian position and i must say i find it fascinating and has turned my belief on its head in the space of a few days.

I think you are slightly right and slightly wrong. The way I understand it is that" the Word" in the first verse should be a lower case g and that the word "him" in verse 3 and 4 should have been it. Apparently this was it was used in all 8 of the greek translations of the bible up to the king James bible in the early 17thc and these new changes in the wording in the King James were taken from roman catholic texts. I like the King James but in light of what i have learned from the last week or so study i now have a better and fuller understanding of it and provided I am aware where the "frauds" are being committed I will not throw the baby out with the bath water.
I feel like this is a contradiction. You said that "the word was with god" (last video). Yet here you say that, " Jesus is the unique expression of god" but really it should be worded, the unique "everything" of god. Because the Greek means anything and everything pretty much. I like how you used a Trinitarian's word "expression". All he was trying to say is that when we express love or happiness it's indescribable, all these amazing..indescribable everythings....lol excuse my spelling.

This is an example of God sending his word into a Thing, You shall call that Holy Thing which shall be born” THE SON of God” NOT call the Word THE SON OF GOD” The Word isn’t that Holy Thing, The Body was The Holy Thing and The Word Dwelt in it” So The WORD begot The SON- therefore The word is part of the Father (GOD) there was no preexisting Son because he’s called begotten of The Father, that’s proof A spirit Son didn’t beget a physical Son, otherwise he would be called begotten of The Son, furthermore The Son doesn’t bear witness himself or his witness isn’t true he said John 5:31-32, but we see The Father, The Word and The Holy Spirit bearing witness of the Son 1st John 5:7, trinitarians like to quote this as proof of Trinity but they never quote 1 John 5:6 which tells you it’s one spirit bearing witness of the Son and That spirit is described in 3 titles - The Father, The Word and The Holy Spirit” those aren’t persons, those are titles” we see THE before it, THE FATHER- someone is that, The Word Someone is That, The Holy Spirit someone is that” WHO? The Son said there’s only one who bears witness of him” The Father” and his functions are THE Word and The Holy Spirit” God isn’t a Trinity, God creating the world through The word is simply God speaking, we have an example of it, let there be and it was so, we don’t see another person helping make it happen, it’s like me using my hands to tie my shoes, I’m using a function of myself” The Same thing God Said let us make man but wee see how man was made in Genesis 2” God alone he breathed his spirit and that’s all not 3 persons, God said in Isaiah 45:12 he alone stretched out heaven and created man on it, I even my hands” so we see God talking about parts of himself helping him create, my hands” that’s not another person
