None of the three bolts adjacent to the switch on my January 2020 Model 3 went to ground. The solution was to join the ground wire to the Tesla's black wire that went to the existing light.
I've purchased multiple frunk light strips that do not end up turning on at all. 2023 model. Do you have any idea why that might be and why your product might work when others don't?
I think almost certainly because you're not finding a good ground. It should be the bold shown, but this was posted a few days ago in a review from a customer, so you might need to try one of the other bolts. "Product did not work initially, OR SO I THOUGHT. The grounding wire needs to be connected under an existing bolt and there are two to choose from. You need to install the grounding wire under the other bolt for it to work if it is a Model 3."
Yes. You should see small, black marks on the rear of the strip, that's where you can cut. I've added a picture to our helpdesk guide here: help.abstractocean.com/en-US/flexible-led-frunk-light-275183
Be careful, if i was you i would put a phone inside and record the light to cut off, i notice the light dont turn off until a long time..... check this!
I just installed this unit into my 2023 M3. I was also curious to see how long it took for the light inside to turn off. I got my older iphone and video the whole process from closing and opening. I let the video go for about 20min. When I re-opened the frunk, I stopped the video. Review the video and the light turns off at exacly 10min. Hope this helps.
Great video, thanks!!! Would have been nice to see it actually working at the end though, ie, close then open the frunk in the dark.

Can you cut the light strip if it is a little long?
