pro tip: try to lift the badge a bit and use olive oil. it kills almost everything thats glue :)
I found strong fishing line dipped in rubbing alcohol works best for badge removal.

I have some emblems coming Saturday. KDM Warehouse. Actual emblem, not overlays, which I had. I’m very much looking toward replacing the oem emblem (w vintage K overlays) with vintage K legit emblems. I have been watching this over and over learning how to properly swap emblems. I have a heat gun. Micro fiber towels. Turtle wax adhesive remover. I should have this in the bag

Thanks for the video. I see a lot of Kia owners using this logo. Is it Kia ? I have the Kia cee’d GT line 2016 and I’m thinking of getting one too. Also could you recommend a website where I could get some good quality stickers for the rims as I changed them recently

I think a good way to add is to spray that goo gone when you have spread the badge open abit from the body so it can soak into the centre more

Dental floss doesn't work well. I just used my old scene points card (which worked
great), some rubbing alcohol to substitute the goo gone and a blow dryer. No pry tools or goo gone needed. Changed the emblems and and removed the "forte" branding in under 15 mins.

how you been doin? my lxs has been nothing but trouble. Done a few things like exhaust, nitrous and racing springs. Seems like Kia does everything in their power to make it very difficult to work on their cars. Like they're trying to go the Mercedes and BMW route where they only want you to bring it in to them to do anything to it. Think im fineally ganna de badge it today

That tapered white nylon tool is called a window stick. I have one for the past 53 years that I used in windshield replacement on trucks back then.

I got one for front and back. Got the front on. I cannot do the back one, too scared. One thing I know about Kia’s paint, and this is for every single Kia made is that the paint is not the strongest.

I bought a couple of hard plastic bondo putty blades - worked perfectly combined with a heat gun. I cringed when I saw him use the metal putty knife.
So the Kia logo with just the K what’s the origin behind it I seen it in a ladies car and I was like is her logo broken then I seen that it was just different

I feel really weird about ripping oem badges off the car especially since my cadenza is a 40,000 dollar car… I’ll just stick them over the old badges
they're 3d... you wont be able to unless you get a vinyl sticker lol. you have to remove a badge to place another in its spot

It won’t void your warranty. I asked my local dealership before changing mine and they said it’s not a problem.
What is that logo with only the K, was it an old Kia logo or a similar brand?
the K logo is what they use for Kia vehicles in Korea :)

Its sad so many people are ashamed of the manufacturer of thier car. I have a K5 GT LINE and proud to show that Kia made this awesome vehicle.
He replaced it with the Korean Kia Badge.. So no shame for the Manufacturer...
@@aaronestano5117 I never knew that, and thats the reason it was changed. I doubt many people do. There's no reason to change it, unless you dont want KIA , to be prominently displayed. But thanks for the info about the alternative badge.
@@johnfranklin5277 my 2013 Kia Optima is extremely faded from sun exposure. Hence the need for my replacement.. and it’s not a Lexus symbol 🤦🏽♂️

@@johnfranklin5277 I replaced all the KIA badging on my StingerGT because I like the stylized logo aesthetics of the 'K' - not to hide the fact it's a KIA. I still tell everyone it's a KIA. Just because you think there's "no reason to change it" - doesn't mean others have no reason.
too bad some scratching was done in this process. KIA's are the most difficult badges to remove based on any vehicles I work with. Not really something I recommend for a first-timer/DIYer. The scratches are subtle (in the video), but would not be so subtle in person. The double sided tape KIA uses is the strongest of any other vehicles. It is seriously industrial strength! Likely most car owners who attempt this themselves would be satisfied with the results, but doing it professionally requires perfection. Thanks for the video nonetheless and I give it a thumbs up. One thing to watch something in a vid; very differnt when it comes to actually doing it.

@@KiaForteMods hi! I bought mines from there too but my emblem on the back refuses to stick well on the sides. It's like the back of the forte is a bit curvy but the emblem is flat. Have you had this problem and what did you chose exactly on the website (I chose my model wich is 2021 and the forte GT line but mine is an LX but it says that it fits for all 2021 forte models)?

i dont know how great the badge is holdiong up but you should have cleaned the area with rubbing alcohol before you put the new badge
