At the beginning of the campaign around 1070, only the north of England was controlled by Saxons, so if you wanna be historically accurate just have them in control of York.

But i have some questions man. 1) How you make a back up (if you want to play as vanilla traditional england)? 2) Ive seen other videos where they say that the Saxons can't build a Navy, nor Churches, Chapel, Cathedrals nor recruit Priests, is this the same case here? 3) Does the saxons have similar troops than the original england?(i didn't have time to view the whole video but good work) Also im afraid of loosing my english campaign because i was playing as england and got the brilliant idea of restoring a Saxon Dynasty, so i selected a captain with a Saxon name, i killed all the male royal family, made the captain Aelfgar a general (General Godwine!) , which at the death of the Prince Rufus became Prince,after the Death of William the Conqueror he became King Aelfgar Godwine, and i had to find him a wife, so with cheats and all i find him a Spanish wife. So thats why i want to know if its possible to make a back up, i don't know how to do that, i suck at informatics so by the mean time you reply i will continue to play as Godwine england
Well I'm glad to hear you enjoyed my video, and thanks for the support. Now to address your questions. 1) To make a "backup" what you need to do is create 2 descr_strat files, 1 with the Saxons, the other with the base game vanilla files. To put it simpler copy the descr_strat folder before doing the tutorial and store it somewhere, and then copy one after the tutorial and store it somewhere. Whenever you want to switch you can copy the files back into the Medieval 2 files and then switch back later. 2) Yes unfortunately that is the case, I tried for many hours to make is possible to recruit units and build other structures for the Saxons but all of my attempts ended in failure. You can buy mercenary ships, cavalry, and archers. 3) No the Saxons have their very own troop roster, however it is extremely limited and consists of a few custom units such as Huscarls and Theigns. Hope this helped you out and if your England campaign is broken i'm truly sorry about that. Also for a personal question of mine, can you got into more detail about how you reinstated the Saxon dynasty? It sounds really cool and I personally didn't know it was possible so if you could explain how I would be grateful. :)

Well its complicated but all you need is pure cheats (im cheatmaster) here are the steps for going my way: 1) Add_money 90000 then ctlrl V (repeat it until you have a lot of money) 2) Click on any army or city that have an army (from 1 to 20) 3) make them leave the general army they are in, after you do that select the captain with the most saxon style name (i had the choices of Aelfgar, Leofwine, Godwine, (don't try if they name more modern names as Paul, Symon or Francis or norman french names) then make them fight with impossible odds, make them win by making the cheat "auto_win attacker" until there is the triggers "Man of the hour" remember that is what makes them pass from puty captain to general, and even to adoption, for that its tricky because you have to wait that your King or Prince makes an adoption (that means they need generals) its then by cancel it and using your Captain (with anglo-saxon name) that you will make them fight a rebel army, stronger or weaker but the stronger the enemy is the more chance there is to have the man of the hour trigger) Once your Saxon Captain is a general he will have a great chance to have a Saxon last name (I was very lucky to have Aelfgar having the last name Godwine and his son was named Davy Godwinson) then once that is done, get rid of all males of the Royal family by sending them into a very weak cog, then use the cheats "show_cursorstat" and " move_character "Admiral..." with the location that gives you the "show_cursorstat" and engaging the enemy, look for rebels with "toggle_fow" around the baltic sea. Once the King, the Prince and the "lord, duke, general" are dead by getting drowned, your Saxon general will be promotted to Prince and immeditaely after to KING!!!!!! Muahahahahaha (remember put them all into the ship except your Saxon General of course and keep loosing naval battles to enemies, you might also engage with other Catholic nations but hey you have the money to pay for peace after all and buy the Pope his friendship ;) If you have any other questions or doubt don't hesitate and restore a Saxon dynasty, it might not be thee Godwines/Godwinsons but that will allow you to give another Saxon Noble its chance

So its quite unworthy to sacrifice england for the Saxon-Normans? Even considering the fact that with the cheat "create_unit" London Huscarls 9 9 9 9 can make you a giant army if done many times and the teleport cheat doesn't need you the need to build a fleet and the money to pay the Pope for his blessings (like William the bastard did)???

Thats why i can't play the mod DLV (Deus lo Vult) or "Stainless Steel" its weird other mods works fine for Rome total war 1 but never with Medieval 2
Question, see i have a red zone, thing outside settlements [the red circles that appear around things you can attack] so i have to wait a turn before i can move from them, and im not sure how to fix that

Can you create the Theigns and Huscarls in the "create_unit" cheat? It would be cool if i can add real saxon troops for my late REVOLT OF THE EARLS (historical saxon revolt)
@@mithyc4123 forget it i tried and they look like a crystal unit (they are like a diamond skin) and the huscarls (the game thinks its the danish ones) but still thx to reply.
@@mithyc4123 yes you can. But you have to add cheats "create_unit London mailed knights 9 9 9 9. And you will have the numbers you want. Don't forget to add the cheat for the expensive upkeep add_money 900000 many times also until you consider to have enough (i put 90000 but in fact it is limited to 4000 each time you make the cheat
You could very easily. Just don't do the copy and paste the cities in the tutorial folder and then in descr_strat go to rebels copy york's details and paste it under saxons. Then delete york from rebels, check spacing and it should work. However, my tutorial was set up as an alternate history which is why i didn't put the saxons in york.
I pasted all of it in the script but when I load up the game it shows only a norman faction when I click on it it brings me back to the menu. Could somebody give me the Entire game script I can just copy & paste into?
So if i were you I would start by getting a fresh and new descr_strat folder. Then you can put the saxons in Arhus. When it comes to their armies. It will show the armies and at at the bottom of that you can find x and y coordinates. Move your mouse over the location in Arhus you want to put your army and use the show_cursorstat command to see the x and y coords. In the descr_strat folder type in those new coordinates. Repeat until you are finished. Hope this helps.

I am not aware of how to do it myself but if you find where the files with the family trees are you should be able to tweak it a little for the rebels.
Mithyc I have a rebel family tree because a Sicilian noble defected to my said and became the first rebel family member, he preceded to adopt many people to the family.

You would be able to but need to make sure there are no overlapping armies or cities

I'm not sure about that actually, I've never tried spawning the units in later.
