I'm not an expert by a long shot, but the Vikings converted quite early to Christianity (compared to German tribes, for example). There could be a logical relation with Rollo's settling in Normandy (acculturation, you know...) However, the Vikings were extremely cunning politicians, so I doubt the power of a monotheistic religion evaded them. I even believe this is why they embraced so eagerly such a foreign religion.
