I love the way ubbe just controlls Bjorn when he's about to kill Rollo only brothers manage to find such a strength to hold them back when it comes to it
I once held my dad from stabbing a guy. He almost managed to not be held but I held him. In hindsight, I should have taken the knife and then murdered the guy, one of the things I regret the most
A nice little detail here is the fact that when Bjorn starts moving agressively towards Rollo you will see Heahmund putting his hands in his sword and he actually even had his sword half-drawn, the fact thet Bjorn would attack a fellow christian drove him mad even when the person in subject is Lagerthas son
For people saying this doesn't make sense... Bjorn is an impulsive person but deep down he never wanted to really kill him. Just like when they went to Paris and he first seen Rollo on their side. He was all like "I want to kill my uncle" and then you see him shoot the arrow as if he could of killed him right then but missed intentionally. Thats been his whole relationship with Rollo since he betrayed them. He wanna kill him one minute and then he spares him. Just like when he had him under the water. He literally does this like 3 times throughout the series, where he gets impulsive and want to kill him and then spare him because deep down he doesn't and he still care for him on some level. IMO he should of just killed the bastard. The fact that he went to Ivar's and Hvitserk aid OVER Lagertha and Bjorn's would of been the absolute last straw for me far as sparing him.
Bjorn had a solid point here guys, lets not forget he lived though both of his betrayals, felt them, he saw his father forgive him and getting betrayed again, I gotta say, Im with Ironside on this one.
So many Bjørn haters in here lol, but I do agree Ubbe is most like ragnar, but he is a bit quiet, I think Bjorn is smarter than people think of him and I don’t think the actor is trying to act like Ragnar too much
In the contrary, he is the only the son that adapted Ragnar's behaviour. Biologically, sometimes sons do. The only reason people say that Ubbe is mostly like Ragnar is because he looks like Ragnar, take off the look, he won't. Ubbe possesses all the good qualities of Ragnar and Ivar possess most of the vicious ones, it's two sides of the same coin but Bjorn is the coin. I think Bjorn is mostly like Ragnar.
@@perce1veALL no that's not the only reason I say he's like Ragnar 😂 He's like Ragnar because he seemed peace with people. He didn't want to just fight. He managed to make Ragnars dream come true. Alberto Melo yea but let’s be real I’m a 19 year old guy and idk how old you are but guys freak the fuck out sometimes lol when I get mad and rage if it was recorded people would prob think I’m over acting too
I just can't believe the fact that most of the characters in this show are so blinded and prejudiced by Ragnar's profile , not to have seen for like 5 seasons Rollo's emotional struggles.Rollo did not want to kill his brother no matter how many times they fought. He only wanted to live and be recognized as a human being , let alone an amazing warrior by his people. It's no wonder he grasped with no remorse the opportunity to change his life to the best , by marrying the French Princess and be recognized and loved as a savior of thousands of people.
Going back and seeing some of these scenes where Bjorn talks about Ragnar u can kind of see he never fully accepted Ubbe, Hvitserk, Siggurd and Ivar as his brothers. Anytime he talks about Ragnar its always "MY Father" never Our Father" even when Odin told them Ragnar was dead and Hvitserk was standing right next to him🤣
Rollo is a very selfish person (at least in this show). He deliberately aided Ivar, knowing it would give him victory over Bjorn. He wanted Bjorn/Lagertha to be in a vulnerable position, so he could take advantage of their weakness for his own selfish desire, not considering the effect it had on them (e.g. losing Kattagat, losing all those soldiers and being forced out from their own homes/communities).
Can’t blame Bjorn, I mean, he’s dads downward spiral that lead to his death was cause of his selfish uncle Rollo. And this is basically his 4th time saying my bad after betraying them 3 times. Ragnar would do the same if Bjorn died in battle and he did try killing rollo at the end at France. The only thing that sucks is I think Rollo is legit actually sorry this time haha
It's really hard to pick a side because Rollo did betray his people and his family multiple times despite Ragnar giving him multiple chances and then Bjorn gets told that Rollo is now supposedly his real father, Bjorn has every right to be pissed but at the same time Rollo really regretted betraying his people and wanted forgiveness and was even willing to give his own life to Bjorn's axe.
@@SmokeyGames420 so? mistakes can be forgiven once. not again and again. honestly, they should have ended his role in the show with bjorn whispering into rollo's ear, "odin himself came to tell me that my father was dead, so i guess that answers one of your questions" and then chopped his head off and walked away.
Plus for those who say that it doesn't make sense that he would try to kill rollo then dont kill him. You guys have to understand he is confused. He has such a good relationship with rollo as well as his father not to mention he heard the whole drama of rollo being his true father and he has to focus on fighting against ivar which is stressful for any man.

@@Syndor12 Ragnar was much much better a fighter than Ubbe. Bjorn is Ironside anyway so I don't think it would be even close. I was also going to refer to that fight as well, Ubbe won that but nearly died in the process. Bjorn is also more skilled and you can say more powerful as well.
@@MuhammadAli-qu1ot Frodo was a King, you only become a King if you kill your way up there, so he must have fought a lot of men before losing to Ubbe. Ironside is a nickname, it doesn't mean much, Gunhild was able to cut Bjorn. I'm not saying Ubbe is as good as Ragnar, but in terms of fighting he's very similar, and Bjorn is similar to Rollo. Ubbe is one of the best fighters on the show, so there's no way Bjorn would easily beat him, it would still be a tough fight. We saw Bjorn get knocked down by Ivar's men in episode 20 of season 5, and Harald had to save him, so he isn't unbeatable.
@@Syndor12 by Ivar's men*! Not by a single person. Gunhild cutting Bjorn is one thing as for Ironside, yes it's a nickname. He was also struck by arrows in Paris. Still I don't see Ubbe giving a tough time to Bjorn. Even he too is a good fighter.
It's funny how Headmund and Rollo get along fine despite Headmund knowing that he was a Viking to begin with. I guess because Rollo has been a Christian King for quite a while now that he's able to act like he had always been a Christian. And the fact that Headmund was getting ready to defend him as Bjorn came to attempt to murder him. It's so good. And we need to see at least one more scene with Rollo in season 6.
Erik was right when he said dying is not easy for Rollo you can see the depression and tiresome and old life that make him beg Bjorn to end him.And i'm glad Bjorn didn't do it BC he realized It would be mercy

Duke Rollo gets a lot of hate, but his last confessions to Bjorn and Heahmund are pretty powerful. I think that this scene and the plot could have been handled better. Considering that Bjorn's paternity has been alluded to throughout the show, it was not the best use of a scene.
bjorn's paternity was confirmed when odin visited all of ragnar's sons in the season 5 to tell them about ragnar's death and bjorn heard and saw him. but if you're too stupid to understand that, i guess we can understand that.

The Norsemen were actually much more hygienic than most Europeans of that time. They usually bathed at least once a week, much more frequently than Brits and Francs. They also washed their hair with a special soap that had a really high lye content; it would bleach their hair blonde, and kill and prevent the spread of lice among them. I’m not familiar with what dental hygiene was like in any part of Europe during medieval times. I just know that, despite the demeanor of the Vikings, they came from a much more hygienic and aesthetically conscious background. Just look at the difference. Brits and Francs hardly ever styled or braided their hair, unless they were rich. Norsemen did it all the time (evidenced by many archaeological finds revealing the presence of many hand mirrors and razors even on Viking war ships.) Brits and Franks never actively grew out and styled, braided, and/or bejeweled their beards. Vikings and Norsemen did it all the time. Shit, the Norsemen and Vikings were probably actually the world’s first aesthetically obsessed metrosexuals - they were just also a very hyper-masculine and warlike people if we’re talking strictly about the Vikings and not the rest of the Norsemen.
I'm pretty sure that the actors that play Ragnar and his sons all have the same acting coach and were made to act in similar ways to make them seem familiar.
To me it is understandable that Björn doesn't kill Rollo. Yeah it can looks stupid and predictible, but Rollo is almost begging Björn to kill him, and he probably already know that he can be his father. If you think it would be an easy fight for Bjorn Vs bishop heahmund then I don't think youve watched the show , he is one of the greatest fighters on the show.
I love the way ubbe just controlls Bjorn when he's about to kill Rollo only brothers manage to find such a strength to hold them back when it comes to it
I once held my dad from stabbing a guy. He almost managed to not be held but I held him. In hindsight, I should have taken the knife and then murdered the guy, one of the things I regret the most
umm, u don't think bjorn helped ubbe a bit through bjorn back back
A nice little detail here is the fact that when Bjorn starts moving agressively towards Rollo you will see Heahmund putting his hands in his sword and he actually even had his sword half-drawn, the fact thet Bjorn would attack a fellow christian drove him mad even when the person in subject is Lagerthas son
ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmg me too :)

Ubbe absolutely held Bjorn back singlehandedly way before Lagertha got there. Guy's strong.
Of course he is, Ubbe pretty same size and strength us Bjorn
1:54 that roar is just amazing idk why
It was lol
He does sound like a bear since some characters mention he fights like a bear 👀
Exatamente. se ele quisesse mesmo matar, ninguém ali conseguiria segurar ele.
i love how everyone still hated Rollo till the end
loved how he moves and his ponytail swaying :) lovely dancing, Bjorn :)
Just like Ragnar done 💙
Bjorn had a solid point here guys, lets not forget he lived though both of his betrayals, felt them, he saw his father forgive him and getting betrayed again, I gotta say, Im with Ironside on this one.
No one gonna comment about how our boy Heahmund half unsheathed his sword on Bjorn in Rollo’s defence? True gangster till the end
he thinks Bjorn is a joke and dying is fainting.
Loved the bishop
@@perce1veALL Ubbe looks alot more like Ragnar than Bjorn, Bjorn looks exactly like Rollo with the face shape ect.
You lose 1-3 Paris SG
@@perce1veALL no that's not the only reason I say he's like Ragnar 😂
He's like Ragnar because he seemed peace with people. He didn't want to just fight. He managed to make Ragnars dream come true. He risked his life to secure the safety of his people and Wessex. For the future generations of his people. Ubbe looks like Ragnar is over said, but it's not the only reason he is like Ragnar.

Crazy to think that in real life, Rollo is the great x32 grandfather of the current Queen Elizabeth II
What ? You serious?
@@Thorfinn47. Yeah, he was the first Duke of Normandy. His great great great grandson was William the conqueror, who would invade Britain and establish the monarchy that is still around today.
“He betrayed my father.” His voice, tone, mannerism, and every way he said that was an exact splitting copy of Ragnar. A mirror image.

According to psychology, children adapt traits that could save their parents. How could Bjorn not be Ragnars son?
Cause even if Rollo is his father, he sure wasnt his daddy

Bjorn’s character did quite well in this scene. “NOT ME!!” Not bad, not bad
Headmund was one of the harshest characters they braught to the show after the death of ragnar, should never of killed him of

@@bensul9979 well he is angry, and full of hate becouse if it wasnt for rollo ragnar would have stayed with his sons and would not be dead, ivar would not try to kill his mom, if u think about it, its natural for him to be sooo mad and dramatic, it all started with rollo and paris
Alberto Melo yea but let’s be real I’m a 19 year old guy and idk how old you are but guys freak the fuck out sometimes lol when I get mad and rage if it was recorded people would prob think I’m over acting too
I think Bjorn emulated Ragnar’s acting style
Anytime he talks about Ragnar its always "MY Father" never Our Father" even when Odin told them Ragnar was dead and Hvitserk was standing right next to him🤣
He just said “father is dead” I believe.
He says “Revenge for our father” so he acknowledged them as brothers. But in the general sense he says “my father” when talking to a crowd
The fact that Bjorn is Rollo's child always in my mind.
How though? ur saying it was Rollo that knocked up Lagertha and Ragnar just never knew? Is it like a Dale and John Redcorn situation
lmao its not rollos child he said that because he wanted lagertha to come with him
Bishop Heahmund and rollo two bad assess
I love Bjorn’s mannerisms like his father!
I think he merely picked the side that would be more beneficial to Frankia. Ivar was the better bet.
So no one makes a decision, it was ALL fault of Rollo?
Plus for those who say that it doesn't make sense that he would try to kill rollo then dont kill him. You guys have to understand he is confused. He has such a good relationship with rollo as well as his father not to mention he heard the whole drama of rollo being his true father and he has to focus on fighting against ivar which is stressful for any man.

This is the closest we'll get to a 1v1 between Ubbe and Bjorn. I'd love to see them actually fight, it would be one hell of a battle.
Ubbe would die in 3 secs 😂
@@MuhammadAli-qu1ot Nah definitely not. Ultimately I do think Bjorn would win, but it would be close, like Ragnar vs Rollo. Ubbe being Ragnar in this scenario. His fight against Frodo proves that he's one of the best fighters on the show.
We will never meet again- that was foreshadowing if you have seen season 6 you will know my meaning
so sad, i would have been happy to see him again...
All bark and no bite... what a weak man.
Your words cut deeper, deeper than any blade or axe lel
Most emotional scene in vikings on my opinion bjorn is so strong
No one will ever forget the name of bjorn ironside, greater than Ragnar!

@@kabirsardana1282 interesting response, and interesting that you first resort to ad hominem, which is the first sign of a losing argument, but with your oh so superior intellect, maybe you noticed that divine signs are consistently kept very ambiguous in the show? I can't even begin to imagine how bad their breath must've smelled like.
Shit, the Norsemen and Vikings were probably actually the world’s first aesthetically obsessed metrosexuals - they were just also a very hyper-masculine and warlike people if we’re talking strictly about the Vikings and not the rest of the Norsemen.
wtf why are you worried about their breath. yours probably smell like shit

Damn, Rollo was kidding when he said that we'd never meet again...
To me it is understandable that Björn doesn't kill Rollo. Yeah it can looks stupid and predictible, but Rollo is almost begging Björn to kill him, and he probably already know that he can be his father. Björn has not hate for Rollo, he's just disapointed and disgusted to see him being someone so far from the Viking he used to be.
Rollo is the one that went farther in life
