My family had a '75 Cherokee--our first Jeep of many. 360 3-speed manual with an 8-track tape deck. Served us well until 1987. She was darn near unstoppable in any kind of weather. I can still see my dad getting out to lock the hubs to put it into four-wheel. 🚙
My first Jeep was a 1979 Cherokee Chief Wide Trac. It was a great hunting and fishing rig and was a beast off road. When I sold it, the buyer was using it for mud bog racing. Yours brings back some great memories!
If only auto manufacturers made SUV's like this timeless example. Great video, this Rig takes you back to childhood memories. What a fantastic surviver.

Cherokee S " Station Wagon " That's what I have been told as the S Meaning. I have the same Pie Plate Indians on my 1975 Cherokee S. Also a Small Indian S on the Passenger side of the Dash. Thanks for the Video.
Yes n no…..wouldn’t be a DIRECT BOLT UP. But Atlas makes adapter for a few hundred. And I’m talking bout the 93-94.5 first year grand Cherokee. The 2nd gen Quadra-trac would need even more. Or so I’m told by the “Jeeps Only” off-road shop in my town.
I’m looking at buying a 77 4 door wagoneer and it’s a Quadra trac also…I’m familiar with my 93 grand Cherokee Quadra trac but it has a shifter from 4hi,N,4lo….anyway this 77 I’m wanting to buy has hubs as well but no floor shifter except the 4lo lever under driver seat, YET IT HAS HUBS! So someone that knows…..PLEASE ANSWER THIS ? Thank you
I found one yesterday, 79, 4 door, slant 6, out of 10, body is a solid 6, frame and different, 8 This nuthead has like 205, car tires, This is a burnt out electrician that spent toooooo much in works bunks. 800$

The '77 is the best looking Cherokee ever. The extra low gear on that truck was fun to burn all four tires on.

I averaged about 9-10 mpg in my 1977 cherokee chief 2dr 3604bbl 4spd manual. Was my first vehicle. Wish I didn't sell it back in 1993 - doh!!
