Yeah i dont know for sure but my understanding is everything is compatible except the awd in the CRV. Hmm they did go to newer style gearboxes which may be different but i'm pretty sure 07 will still be ok.
From my understanding the type S box is better ratios. Turbo guys really love the base box because it has wider gears and its better suited to boost. I believe they are much of a muchness for reliability and having the 6th gear on the shafts doesnt impact the reiability. If i had to choose between the two I'd choose the type S. I'm only running this one (base)because i got it for $140 and the type S would be at least 10 times as much here in aus.
@@teamaxlestands ahhh makes sense. I have a k24a3 with a cl9 box on it. I was thinking of getting type r gearsets for it. What do you think? Better off getting a type s box, ep3, fn2 type r box or ?
I actually have a CL9 box too which i'll prep to go in. I think i'll put a gearx 1st/2nd in which makes the ratios much better. If i had to pick one of the 3 you listed - id go an EP3. Pretty sure they are DC5 type R box which is the bees knees. Oh i should say i dont know too much about the fn2 box so that might be good too.
I’ve been wondering if that LSD could be installed on the DC5 for North America known as Acura RSX as a direct fitment.
Yeah this will work in your DC5 box. JDM EP3/DC5 LSDs will fit any of the 5 or 6 speed RSX boxes
I was going to ask if the 2007 accord gearbox can take the civic si lsd but as I can tell they all line up.

Would you consider the base dc5 5 speed box a good budget option compared to a dc5 type s box ? e.g gear ratios, reliability, etc
