PerformanceCars very easy to follow! I guess if I was to give constructive criticism maybe you could include some more basic instruction such as what points to jack up the car on, or maybe links in the description for the best place to buy the oil/suction pump etc.. but those are only small things :)
Thanks for that. I kind of expect viewers who will attempt a gearbox oil change to be able to jack up their cars. Otherwise failing to do that, they will most probably get the next bit wrong. I did mention the jacking points etc in previous how to's but the amount of time I did it, people starting complaining I mention it everytime, can't please everyone lol. Good idea on the best place to buy stuff 👍👍
Yeah man I get you - personally I knew how to jack up a car but have only just got the DC5 so didn't know the official jacking points. And on the buying stuff point, you could try and get a partnership with H-Tune or other online car parts store with a 10% discount code like what other UA-camrs do for watches/protein powder etc... worth a try and you could get some commission ;)
hey just wanted to ask what is your personal race car and how many integras do you own? btw your videos are gret been watching them now and subscribed because content like this became rare! keep up the good work
+Leon Clark Rola Hey Leon, I use a JDM S2000 as my track car. I only have one Integra. How about yourself? What do you drive buddy? Many thanks for the comment and support 👍
Not having the car level can significantly throw off how much fluid you put in depending on how high you lift the front of the car. It's a good idea to try to keep it as level as possible when you're filling. You can see towards the end of the video where he had the jack lifting the rear of the car to level it.
Hi, make sure you have the car level otherwise the reading will be incorrect. Drive your FN2 onto the two front ramps then use a jack to raise the rear 👍
Aatrox it says only if gearbox oil is not available you can use motor oil in an emergency but must immediately replace with gearbox oil at first opportunity. It is not the same viscosity. Gear box oil is thicker just like oil in a differential. Has different additives
Part numbers for the washers have been added to the description.
PerformanceCars what’s the part number for the oil filter?
The fluid that came out the gear box looked pretty good I've seen a hell of a lot worse! Thanks for uploading, class as always 👍🏼
I found the tip on writing down the miles on the oil filter very clever or useful. keep up the good work.
Very helpful, also have a DC5.
Hey man, this video inspired me to change my dc5 gearbox oil myself, just saved myself an hours labour :) love the vids keep it up
Thanks for letting me know buddy and I am glad it helped. Was it easy to follow or do you think I could be more informative or anything else?

Great video mate I will attempt this on my fn2 soon. I love all your Honda videos cheers 👍
great video. but in all honesty that rusted subframe had me concerned the whole time. Really should get that sand it down and paint it out
Thanks man...Got my FD2 to do, i'm guessing this is similar ??
Great video. Wondering does the FD2 as the same as this?

Nice video m8!
I now own this very car!!!
When you changed the gear box oil was the car level? Reading/watching several guides, some say the car needs to be level and some don't. Thanks.

As inspyral02 has mentioned, yes we had the car level, we had axel stands at the front and then the jack at the back to level it.
What washers do you need to replace for the gearbox fill and drain bolts? What sizes are they?
Is there a bolt towards the front of it you can top it up aswell from that
just a question about filling the gear box oil. can the oil be filled when car is at a recline (i just have 2 front ramps).

How much oil does a K20a gearbox oil take?
do you have an instruction to change transmission Solenoid ?
Is there any other gearoil I can use instead of the Honda MTF?
is transmission flud & gearbox fluid the same?
The gear box fluid is actually brownish rather than pink. Is this always the case for Honda?
It’s really just 10w-30, you’re probably thinking of ATF (auto trans fluid)
Gearbox oil is not 10w 30. It is 75w 90 or 75w 140 usually.
@@harrymajarian9680 it has same viscosity as 5w30 engine oil. Even old Honda manuals suggested using 5w30 oil if you have no MTF.

How many quarts of mtf did you put mate
How much oil did it take in?
What is the drain plug size?
how much oil should be applied?
how many quarts do you need??
Hey buddy, I'm not too sure on quarts but I think I bought 3 bottles and used 2 and a half.
thanks, im gonna do the gear oil change next week.
do a dc5 type r engine oil change
How do you dispose of the used oil?
+css172 I take it to my local recycling centre that accepts used motor oil. I hope no one dares try to put this stuff down the drain!!
PerformanceCars Ahh thanks for quick reply.
