I had one and DC2. DC2 was the best front drivers car you mention as hailed by Evo Magazine. The DC5 was good but not as raw and engaging as the DC2. That said, it's a type of car you'll never see again and should be celebrated

The words “underrated” and “icon” are not synonymous in the slightest. The very reason the DC2 / DC5 are iconic is because they are RATED as the best if not one the best pound for pound FF cars ever made. Really odd choice of words. They’re very well celebrated and quite rightly so.

DC2 is hailed as number 1 fwd handling car thanks to marketing, anime, and movies. Lets not forget the massive production/sales and Hondas push to actually sell the car. Unlike the DC5 which was the final release of Hondas phase out of the Integra. They were never aiming for massive numbers with this car. The dc5 has double wishbone and mcpherson suspension the same suspension that beat the dc2 with double wishbone front and rear by 7 seconds at the Nürburgring STOCK! They "claim" the dc2 is the best fwd car ever... Honda didnt drop it and adopt the same suspension the dc5 has with the latest NSX for no reason! This is an incredibly special car.
Loved this review. Had me smiling BIG TIME. That exhaust note... 😍 Always wanted a DC5. Looked at a number of examples but was always put off by high mileages. Maybe I shouldn't have been. Anyhoo, I'll just have to 'rough it' in my i20N

I love my dc5 acura rsx but it has a ton of type r components and a k24a now 5 speed gearbox as well

I think you've got this wrong mate...the DC2 was hailed the best handling fwd car and is favoured over the DC5. The DC5 is still a lovely thing though, I'm not sure if it had double wishbones though 🤔

Drove both, had a dc5 for 2 years, the dc5 feels well better on the country roads and round bends.
I built the replica facelift from stupid AUDM to JDM the one and the only so far as my knowledge
defect description is cannot set the car too lower and this best friend will pulling one side during vtec kicks in.

Honda’s in general are underrated by the masses. Many car enthusiasts are brand snobs nowadays and do turn their nose up at Honda’s
Stock wise.. garbage braking system all around. CAT converter problems. Garbage paint job. Oh i can list many more. Worked for Honda/ Acura for many years and i cant tell you for the life of me how many of these rolled in REGUARLY for service. Hard pass for me.

I owned one for 5 years and hardly had any issues, mine was a Type R too.
What utter nonsense. I can tell you’re from the US when you mentioned garbage braking system and the fact they came in for repairs regularly. You didn’t get the Type R. You got the far inferior Civic Si and Integra RSX sadly.
