Important: you need to update your addon to the 1.5 version, and activate the spin tool correction on the addon’s preferences in order to use this tool. Happy modeling!
@@yunikorn386 The standard cursor spin (shown in the first half of the video) is not an addon, it is just in the T tools bar on the left hand side. You can see it highlighted in blue on the video. The second half of the video using an addon called Machine Tools (as said in the video and there is a link in the description to where you can get it).
Love this, really useful! The more efficient way to solve this for subd modelling or production modelling is to create the corner at the angle and then bevel the edge accordingly with the segments with chamfer(I can't spell) turned on, not quite sure what the specific workflow for Blender on that technique is though!
👍🏻I can see thay for sub d modelling for sure. Generally I find as Blender gets more powerful/I find the right addons I'm using SubD less and less and personally that's a much nicer workflow with more control. But it hugely depends what you're creating 👍🏻
@@ArtisansofVaul it really does, I think with a greater understanding of Subd comes less destructive workflows, in the VFX and Anim industry we tend to use subd because it allows for better LOD. But for environments I'll always go to Houdini (or sometimes blender but don't tell my boss) for a more procedural and controlled feel!
I always forget alt+E, it’s the one shortcut I forget all the time
If you're only forgetting on shortcut you're doing vastly better than I am so good on you :p
@@ArtisansofVaul I’ve got an uncanny ability to remember shortcuts apparently, only in blender tho 😅
@homborgor I mean if there's going to be one place to remember addons that well, Blender would be the place to have that talent!
Didn't know that one
I’m commenting here so I don’t forget what it is
This blew my mind. The fact that this addon is free is just ridiculous
Yeah, its one of the best out there!
Not free anymore unfortunately
Thank you youtube algorithm. Definitely gonna check out your patreon.
Thanks man 😁😁👌🏼
Thanks, this actually looks pretty useful 😊
I think it is. Especially in terms of speed of use.
Fantastic tips
Thanks so much 😁
Tutorials like this are needed as that software is DEEP!@@ArtisansofVaul
Didn't know machinetools did this, had it installed for ages
Glad I can't introduce you to something new 😁
Wish I knew this sooner
Hopefully it can now help in the future.

Aways a pleasure 😁
I can neither find the Cursor Spin, nor the Spin Tool Correction under Preferences > Addons… Where do I find this tool?

Thank you!
Wow usefull information, can't wait for my brain to forget it and only remember what it do, i'll be back when i forget again!!
🤣 That's the best comment I've seen in a while because it's just SO true.

@@jackgilltaylor Great summary 👌🏼
Amazing tutorial!
Thanks so much 😁 Cheers for taking the time to comment, it's really appreciated.
Thank you 😊
😁👌🏼 No problem.
Thanks!
My pleasure.
This might bring me back to blender😅
😅 👌🏼
We can hear the pc dying in the background 😭
🤣 That's me working on a rather old laptop 😅
That one I realy need to try I use spin tool very rare, and I truly hate it cause I always need to relearn it again.
It does depend a lot on your workflow/projects. Sometimes I don't use it for months and then it comes up a lot all in one go.
How to give it that texture?
You can find how to do that here. It's actually quite simple when you know how 😁 ua-cam.com/video/GcNHZILKl3I/v-deo.html
I don't know what this is but it looks so satisfying
😅 Oh it really is. Its something about the UI that just makes it look cool and technical. Its Blender by the way (a 3D modelling software)
is machinetools still free
i can only find versions where you need to pay
Yep. Check gumroad, you can put in $0 as the cost. But I'd suggest putting in something as it gives you a huge amount of tools.
So should i just forget the spin tool and use the machine tools addon?
I mean it's the same but better and free, so I would.
awesome.
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you so much. This is 110٪ times better. The native blender spin tool is pretty ass
😅🤣 Yeah, I have to agree. I like what it can do and the UI is quite nice but it gets a bit limited and slower to use than you want.
Is that paid tool ? Or free ?
Machin3 tools needs to be downloaded but it's free. And I'm constantly shocked that it's free as its such a powerful tool-set
@@ArtisansofVaul aww thank you, I always wanted have tools like this. Much love.
Lovely lip smack at the beginning there
🤣 Yep
rammstein
😅
Bruh what
😅
@@ArtisansofVaul could've been doing this THE WHOLE TIME
@shan4364 Yeah it's one of those sorts of discoveries.... Frustrating as hell but also a relief to know you can now save a lot of time.
@ArtisansofVaul man, I appreciate this content fr. Where was this when I needed it raaaaah!
Blender is just better
I do love Blender
