With most people, I feel like they've already said everything and are constantly repeating themselves. With you, I have the feeling that you will still find something new and exciting in Blender in three hundred years. Simply fantastic. 💥💥💥
@juliaalder2007 haha. Thanks so much. I think that's down to just how much Blender has to offer but I'm glad the content keeps fresh 😁 I just wanted to say thanks again for always taking the time to comment on the videos you wantch Julia, it's really appreciated.
@@ArtisansofVaul That's so nice of you. I always can't wait for a new video to come out. It's very atypical for me, but I don't want to give you any suggestions at all, because the choice of topics is part of the whole joy. I know that you always hit the full. 😊😎
I really appreciate that you magnify/enlarge the options boxes that you are using - please keep doing this! It's very helpful and makes following what you're doing so much easier, especially since I watch most of this stuff on my 8" tablet. Without the magnification of detail, it's just impossible to see exactly what people are clicking on. This is all good mesh modelling stuff. Thanks!! 🚀🚀
Cheers. I didn't really consider it a lot before but I was thinking its likely people watch a lot on their phone so it seemed a wise idea. Glad it's helped out.
Very cool. Another tool I always spend five minutes looking for is face->Weld Edges Into Faces. Handy if you want to (say) put a circle of edges in the middle of a face.
I've been using Blender for several years now. At first, I was fascinated by various addons and their possibilities. But as time goes on, I increasingly realize that the native Blender, or Vanilla Blender as some call it, has so many useful options that need to be explored. Lately, I’ve been realizing more and more that Blender already has a lot of functionality, and addons should be added to that arsenal only when they’re truly necessary or when you really understand the essentials and see that an addon can ease or speed up your workflow. Thanks for the helpful advice, and cheers.
Agree. It's a user interface issue, I think. It's definitely very capable software, but with that comes the need for a very well thought out UI, otherwise it's not accessible and difficult to learn.
@richardconway6425 I think Blender suffers from having so much that it can do it's almost impossible to compact down to a UI that is going to be completely neat and obvious where everything is without using menu systems as it does. I think it does a really good job considering (though as always there is room.for improvement)
This is really handy, especially wrt cleaning up meshes after having done booleans or extrudes, where you may be left with not-quite-connected geometry. Being able to move a vertex and having it auto merge with a target vertex is much better than moving + merge-vertices + by-distance each and every time.
This is going to save me a lot of tedious work. Especially when you apply a complicated boolean, blender often does split edges in a wonky way that messes up the mesh. I'm pretty sure a G-enter with split edges turned on will fix many of those issues. A big thank you to you and Met
For some reason I cannot get it to snap to the surface as shown in your video. I extruded, tapped CNTRL, left-click near the other surface, and NADA. Not sure why.
@23lkjdfjsdlfj 😅😅😅 I think it could also cause issues. It would be nice to be able to set it as a default but I guess it can be set and then it will be on if you save the startup file. 👍🏻😁

@vrharh definetly agree. Sometimes things are a bit hidden but there is a LOT there in the program itself.

Been using Blender for years but had no idea about this. Thankyou
I was totally the same! Always great to have someone tell me something new so massive thanks to Met!
Holy moly, this is a godsend! This should be enabled by default! I never knew about this feature in blender! This is amazing . 🎉
My thoughts exactly. Thats why I was so keen to share.
!! This is VERY USEFULL! I've been painfully doing this manually for a while now... Great NEWs!
@@P134-i3p I was the same previously. Totally a game changer!
Woah! This is such a timesaver and better option than manually doing these things! You rock!

reminding me to continue reading the manual xD mega helpful

That is why I like your channel! You always share new approaches that others seem to miss or just fail to explain!

thank you for giving these practical tool usage examples, that's exactly why I love your channel

Very useful, after 2 years of using the program I learned about such features
Thank you!

@@imonseii good call on the boolean issue. It will be interesting to see how this helps out. 👍🏻
This looks super useful, especially with those last couple of examples you showed. Thanks for this.

@@s.patterson5698 It may be something in your settings? I'm not sure as it should work.
@ArtisansofVaul I think so. I just have to spend some time figuring it out because what you introduced was good.
If Blender had this enabled as default it would end so much pain and suffering in the World.
