I grew up on gta3, and spent hours stating at my physical map pullout and exploring everywhere, but i never got the chance to play vice city or san andreas. This trilogy release is like rockstar knew exactly what i needed.
Year is 2003, you come home from school, you fire your jet of a 100kg magic dust collector, you grab some snacks and drink while pc's booting up, you slide in the CD and hear the ROM spinning madly, vice city menu pops up, you press play and watch a woman in bikinis and think to yourself, damn what a fine lady and when the game's done loading, you play and you're a happy boy without any single problem in the world. I really hope to enjoy at least the fraction on that happiness when i boot up Vice City DE. I'm long overdue for some good happiness.
I was way too young to be playing the original when it came out and I wasn't one of those kids that could just get hold of it anyway. I set out to beat the 3D trilogy (working through the definitive editions) and the two HD games back-to-back before GTA6 comes out when the trailer was announced. Just beat VC last night and I honestly had *the* best time playing it. They captured the vibe so well and there's just so much interesting stuff to see and do. Felt like an enormous upgrade on GTA III. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who would be picking it up for the first time like I was.
I remember the game files in GTA Vice City had a custom folder where you could add music files that you had back in the day and it would all be played in a dedicated radio station in game. Not sure if this was a thing in the other GTA games but i sure remember Vice City had this. Good times good times.
@@mosesdevadass6056 true, I already tried a few hours of playthroughs back in ps2 days in the rentals, but not really went into the story, same goes with gta 3, but as for gta san andreas, that game is like a big part of my childhood
I loved to play GTA vice City, which is my second GTA, when after playing San Andreas (the first GTA), I thought of playing demolition man again and again, and complete it everytime, as it was as easy as piece of cake. Also it's was much different from San Andreas, in VC we take over the whole city, but in SA we take over only Los Santos.
I preordered the trilogy as soon as I could and I am MAKING my friends who have only played 5 at least try San Andreas lmao definitely most psyched for vice city
I was looking for reasons to replay vice city and San Andreas and now I have them. GTA III never really captured my attention in the same way,but I might give it another chance.
I'm not sure how Rockstar managed to cobble together the cast for this game but it's incredible - Ray Liotta, Burt Reynolds, Robert Davi, Luis Guzman, Dennis Hopper, Tom Sizemore, Bill Fichtner, Gary Busey, Philip Michael Thomas, Danny Trejo, Debbie Harry, Lee Majors and Jenna Jameson (as a pornstar, shocker). This will always be my GTA. I just wish you could buy the titles separately. i can't be arsed pissing around with mods on the PC version.
Hope they've extended the maps a bit to explore something new, opened more building, more purchasable properties, new businesses etc, otherwise I don't really see why I should buy these games again as I've already bought them multiple times.
I'm a little disappointed it wasn't a remake like Mafia. Vice City is such a good game, voice acting, story and plot was incredible for its time, it could have easily been remade. Although, with a remake they probably wouldn't bring back the iconic voice actors, would be lucky to get Ray Liotta who was exceptional. Either way, I'm excited to play Vice City and San Andreas in a more refined version. I have Vice City on PC and Playstation 4 but the old controls and clunkiness is hard to get passed nowadays. I don't know how I finished both games back in the day! lol XD.
It's nice that this game has made many younger players realize how shitty modern pop has become-and those of us old enough to experience the 80's firsthand have the music to back it up that our time was much better. They even had Lee Majors voice the biker in the 'Messin' With The Man' mission-every 80's kid knew him as 'The Fall Guy'.
Vice City was my first GTA game on the Original Xbox and even up until a few years ago i still went back and played it, its graphics still hold up today and the sound track was amazing, unlike most of my generation i really dig 80s music but This Remaster was needed. The controls of the old games don't hold up well especially the missions where you needed to fly anything.
I still remembered my way around. The map is small yet balanced. I also remembered the GTA 3 map. Vice City though is more polished. Obviously San Andreas is on a much higher level but you have to appreciate the evolution.
I think people are underestimating how many improvements have been made. The improved lighting and textures make the games look way more polished and lifelike. The environments appear to have the biggest advantage.
I can’t wait to jump on the scooter and hear Michael Jackson playing at the start goosebumps
I hope so , hopefully they still have the license for all the music. The music is what really made the game .

my favorite missions for vice city will always be the rc ones. i love controlling that small chopper, especially the RC plane that drop bombs. so goooood
I was in my early 20’s when this came out. Going back to Vice City is gonna be a f*cking blast. Cannot wait to grab a physical copy for the Switch.
Same. Same age when this came out. Child of the 80s.
I was 7 when these games came out lol. Currently 26 years old going on 27. GETTING OLD MAN!
@@MackDaddyVic lol in the same boat as you
Just a bunch a memories
Same. My best friend first got diagnosed with brain cancer around when this game came out. Nostalgia overload.
@@JayRacer holy crap. Sorry to hear that, must've been scary
Falcon you've totally convinced me start Vice City on the Definitive Edition
That cheat sheet is coming out of its nostalgia box to assist me in doing the more complicated cheats I still have the weapon cheats in my head.
...Lame
@@Thunder_unit00 I’m sorry you didn’t have a good childhood.
@@Raven_Noire pathetic response and you know it

P.S I’m sorry for any of the other people/content creator that’s seeing this pathetic back and forth arguing I should have been the better human and let it slide.
Vice city was so nostalgic to play through now as an adult, it brought back so many memories of being 8 years old allaying these games, the other 2 just don’t have that same feel
No way to control it! Its totally automatic! Whenever your around! 😂 I still randomly sing this song! The music is 90% of the nostalgia... rockstar has to know this
This game was my childhood, cant wait to play it!
People seem to forget but you can now crouch and walk while aiming
Driving an Infernus, stormy weather, Ocean beach, "Self Control" playing on flash fm radio.... Damn the feeling is amazing !
12 year old me singing 80s with all my heart: "YOU'RE OUT OF TOUCH IM OUT OF TIME!!"
Can’t wait to get my hands on this trilogy! Big throwback from playing this on my PSP years ago
That's vice city stories not vice city
3:28 brings back so many memories!! I struggled so much at that race I don't think I ever beat it on ps2
I hope all the songs on the radio will remain. This game has one of the best soundtracks of any game
Phew. This game is gonna produce some of the best mods we've seen in years. Let's be honest.
the best mod is going to be restoring the great music that will probably be cut from this release :(.
Lol not likely since they nuked the mod community again just so the old games wouldnt compete against the remaster
@@Matt-zl1by I thought it was included?
@@andrewz6986 one way or another modders will find a way
@@Matt-zl1by Exactly.
R1, R2, L1, R2, UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT... I had that down better than my home address.
GTA VC was the first game I ever played when I was 4 in 2011, now 10 years later, I am waiting to play it again ... in 4K
Vice city was the best gta hands down… game was made to be hard in some parts. Not like games now where they’re designed to be completed in 6 hours
I lost so many hours to these games as a kid, now I get to lose my wife and kids to them.
Wished they put the Everglades in like they originally intended …
I remember the game files in GTA Vice City had a custom folder where you could add music files that you had back in the day and it would all be played in a dedicated radio station in game. Not sure if this was a thing in the other GTA games but i sure remember Vice City had this. Good times good times.
This is gonna be my first ever Vice City experience! can't wait to play it soon!!!
Well I can tell you already nothing beats the PS2 version but you’ll definitely enjoy the story.
@@mosesdevadass6056 true, I already tried a few hours of playthroughs back in ps2 days in the rentals, but not really went into the story, same goes with gta 3, but as for gta san andreas, that game is like a big part of my childhood
To me it is the sound effects of vehicles and gun shot, so nostalgic hope they keep it
I loved to play GTA vice City, which is my second GTA, when after playing San Andreas (the first GTA), I thought of playing demolition man again and again, and complete it everytime, as it was as easy as piece of cake.
GTA3 and Vice City are my fav
I'm not sure how Rockstar managed to cobble together the cast for this game but it's incredible - Ray Liotta, Burt Reynolds, Robert Davi, Luis Guzman, Dennis Hopper, Tom Sizemore, Bill Fichtner, Gary Busey, Philip Michael Thomas, Danny Trejo, Debbie Harry, Lee Majors and Jenna Jameson (as a pornstar, shocker). This will always be my GTA. I just wish you could buy the titles separately. i can't be arsed pissing around with mods on the PC version.
Hope they've extended the maps a bit to explore something new, opened more building, more purchasable properties, new businesses etc, otherwise I don't really see why I should buy these games again as I've already bought them multiple times.
can't wait to play GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition Mod for original games
Before watching this I forgot how much I enjoyed this game when it came out. It actually is the main reason I’m going to get the trilogy
I don't know how I finished both games back in the day! lol XD.
I loved that mafia remake, damn that game was pretty
The controls suck
I’ve never played a GTA where I can listen to almost every station, except Vice City.
I still remembered my way around. The map is small yet balanced. I also remembered the GTA 3 map. Vice City though is more polished. Obviously San Andreas is on a much higher level but you have to appreciate the evolution.
honestly this is the one am mostly exited for between the three coz this is the first gta i started with
We've been waiting forever to play a remaster of the GTA classics. It brings back so much memories, especially the music.
My first GTA was San Andreas and I've actually never played GTA III and Vice City so I'm very excited for the remastered editions!
As soon as I hear, "it's Falcon", I'm nearly sure I'll enjoy the video. Keep up the good work!
I think people are underestimating how many improvements have been made. The improved lighting and textures make the games look way more polished and lifelike. The environments appear to have the biggest advantage.
Same game though. Sure, people will buy it, play it for a few hours and move on to a modern game. Rockstar hitting folks with those Member-berries.
Vice city was the bomb back in the day. Doesn't hold up to todays games but it was a masterpiece back then
Cant wait to see big smoke eat his order in 4k
I’m excited for Vice city and Liberty city!! Pre ordering for a birthday gift too myself 🥳🥳🥳
👍
I remember playing Vice City on my kindle cause it was free and I was a bored 13 year old. Good times
congrats for 6.66m subs :))))
speaking about hardest mission. @3.28 , remote chopper is a piece of cake even with mouse/keyboard.
“Some* people think the new Tommy looks fat” nah he is certifiably thicc, put some respect on my boi
Even tho i did not did not play vice city first, but when i finished it i felt like you just became the king of vice city and worth my time.
