James sent me a couple of these rods to test and I am truly impressed, this particular rod is the 7'6" Medium heavy carolina rod. 14-30lb class. Chris and I spent no less than three hours trying to break the rod with conventional measures. We gave it all we could with what we had and it didn't break. We dead lifted 7lbs, then 15lbs and finally we hooked it to a 60lb bucket of concrete and we couldn't lift the bucket but we also couldn't break the rod. We finally put the rod in a fence pole and attached the line to the hitch, surely 5000lbs can snap the sucker? Well, it did finally break but at the point of contact on the fence, so it wasn't a very fair final test. I only recommend gear to you all if they are worthy and I can tell you that this might be the best $60 bucks spent on a rod. I have to get another rod from James to continue my testing but WOW, it really did shock me. Nice work fellas. Also, what did you all think about the Star Wars effects? Did you like them?

I have another rod breaking story that goes back to when I was 11 or 12 again. I was fishing the same spot as my other story. This time we were at our fishing spot which was on the Nipigon River in Northwestern Ontario Canada at a place called pancake island! It's a bunch of big rocks that act as a breakwal. We put our rods down on the rocks together in the same spot as we were looking for crawfish! My buddy was borrowing his uncles nice rod that day! I happen to lose my balance and step square down on both rods! My buddy yells my uncle is going to kill me for breaking his rod. I'm thinking my dad is going to kill me for breaking his rod and my buddy's uncle's rod. We heard a big snap so we knew something was broken. When I picked myself up off of the rocks we inspected the rods to find out only my rod was broken. Then once again my buddy started laughing once he realized that his uncles rod was fine!

DUDE !! AMAZING ( my story ) didn't break any rods BUT ..Out fishing at Lake Tulloch in California 8/22/22 i had 6 rods on the deck (4 casting & 2 spinning) while changing spots not a far run ( like a dummy i didn't put the rod strap on) just pulled up the trolling & cable motor over the top of the rods like always ( 2021 Bass Tracker Classic XL) a wake boat went by close in opposite direction and caused YUGE wakes so I had to Slow and turn into the YUGE WAKE try an stop ended up riding off the top of the wakes boat slams down hard twice before i could stop / avoid this ,,, trolling motor bounced up about 2' in the air a couple times ( i didn't see what happened next ) because i was trying to control the boat and not get swamped.... 2 BPS Rod/Reel combos got knocked overboard in about 35' of water.... After recomposing my self and changing my under ware I carried on to my next spot ....I seen a fish blow up ON top so I went to grab my Top water rod and WTH its gone !! ( light bulb goes off SON-ofa-***** (nothing i could do now it was gone) ...fished for the rest of the day .. got home and while unloading and putting on my Rod socks WTH..I have 1 extra rod socks...I'm thinking well maybe I put it in the rog storage tubes with the others ... NOPE !! it was then that I realized a second BPS rod/reel combo had gone overboard MAN I WAS PISSED !! SO I started looking on Amazon to replacement I stumbled upon this Piscifun Torrent rod on Amazon on 8/23/22 Rod Looked kewl matched my Boat colors & reel Ilke HAD read the reviews and pulled the trigger and purchased a 7' M fast that just arrived in perfect shape ordered a new real same time ....... today at work watching UA-cam I decided to look up the rod and see what people think about ,,,,,after watching this I'M SO PLEASED I BOUGHT ONE !!! My Torrent finally arrived today...it's BEAUTIFUL...and it was packaged well, Foam cups on each end of the box, and the tip wrapped in cardboard..... I would have never bought this rod without seeing this Video. You guys came through again......

Piscifun is far superior overall. Gx2 simply lacks the sensitivity and action the piscifun has. Better build quality and materials on the piscifun as well. Both super tough though, obviously.

U should push the rod up and a little close to your body with short line in the front of the weight , its like you are trying to connect the tip and the butt of the rod motion and not to pull...

Well the water balloon was blue you casted but red that hit him. The out of place thing. That is crazy rod.
I don't break my rods, but my friend breaks mine for me. He's broke 4 of mine so far, in 1 year. 2 never even hit the water, other 2 had only been used once each.
I think we all have that clumsy friend but four? My goodness, you might need a new friend lol.

Tried to hurry and pack up quick during a Texas storm, knocked off a piece of the butt section with the vehicle tail gate. Rod breaking story, I was coming home from a long skunked day of fishing, it sucked, to top it I was riding a really bad bike. And I would jump up curbs on it. I tried and my front tire popped off and I did a front flip, breaking both rods in my backpack
You casted down the hill and Chris is standing by the table and got hit by the red balloon instead of the blue

Joshua Taylor Red tide is worse.. Went out 10 miles with a friend to a spot we fish.. He didn't like the color of the water, so he drove to look around.. Came up and said the water was black for 50 feet..ugh. They are even finding birds dead now.. They found a 33in. Red fish yesterday..

Very nice video. That is an amazing rod for sure. So there are these ponds pretty close to my house that I will sometimes go to. I usually ride my bike as it is just about 5 or so minutes away. Well I ride of course with my backpack of gear and rod in one hand. On a pretty sharp turn that I nearly did not make on the trail well my rod slipped down and got caught in my wheel spoke and snapped the rod in many pieces. Well it cut that fishing trip short that evening.

My best rod breaking story goes back to when I was 11 or 12 years old. I was with my buddy riding our bikes back from our fishing spot. We were kind of racing home down this old dirt road, I was in the lead. I had my rod in my back pack. It was a rod that broke down in two pieces. When my zipper opened up and the rod slid out of my back pack and into the spokes of my bike! I did and endo over the handles bars as my bike came to a screeching halt. I did a face plant on the dirt road. I was picking gravel out of my face for a week. My buddy I think pissed his pants from laughing so hard. And my rod wasn't just broken it was completely shattered!

I vol flipped a 3 llb bass and jt broke. I was pissed.
High sticking is the quickest way to break a rod.
@@Saltyscales it wasn't this rod, a Berkley Shock rod. If flipped larger and smaller hundreds of times here, too far down to lip so had to flip. This Piscifun is what I just ordered because I'm pretty sure I can do with this rod what I cannot with my last Shock. This Piscifun is well made. And unlike other rods ive snapped, this one had NO fraying.not even a bend. It was a perfect round snap about 1 foot from top of 7ft rod.
And I'm sure yours wouldn't have broken if the weight wasnt focussed on that handle. Ive seen a lot of these rods stand up to a lot of stress and hold up. But is it sensitive too? How is it other than the toughness?

OK Josh, you talked about this video in the live cast and I saved watching just in case you did not have a live cast tonight. I was not disappointed. My guess for the first thing out of place is a pic-nic table suddenly appeared after you spoke to Yoda. He can move heavy things with little force...lol This rod is a brute! I am surprised in the live cast there was not a piece of plastic sticking out of your cheek the way it broke. I was glad you had glasses on. I do like the "sucker" you hooked! ~ (Hey Chris, whats happening?) hehe The one question I have for you Josh is when you had the line tied to your truck (and I would have rofl if the bumper fell off) is What KNOT did you use? The only time I've broken a rod is when I was pier fishing and I was bent over on it trying to untangle the line and i snapped the tip off from the second guide. Oh well.
Accidental high sticks are probably the main cause of breaks and we often times do it and not even realize it.

What makes a rod a flipping rod?
Typically a flipping rod is longer and heavy action. Has tremendous back bone for pitching and flipping into cover.
Piscifun now makes a frogging/flipping torrent series at 7’6 heavy fast actions. They’re probably the best rod for the money by far

Right on brother, every time I buy a rod it’s not a matter of if I break it but when. Just bought the lady a new rod for fishing calico bass over here on the west coast, wish I got her this one. I think at this price point I can get away with buying one more rod with out her losing it lol

Well I need a piscifun rod to pair with the caster reel I'll be getting
I put my poles in the back seat on the passenger side. I started around the car (67 Impala SS) to set the poles up. Before I could get around the car, my ex husband slammed the drivers door and broke the ends on 2 poles. Didn't stop me cause I cut down the end and went fishing anyway!!! I'm sure you can understand why he is an ex husband!!!!
