- Lush's first show in 20 years! A composite I put together by syncing up the excellent audio recording by chatts99 with various audience shot videos from UA-cam, chiefly by Andunemir, who did us a great favor by shooting the whole show.

The drummer did a fantastic job of stepping in for the late, great Chris Ackland.
Justin Welch was the drummer. He plays in Piroshka with Miki now.
And a huge friend of Chris, also. That's why he agreed to do this. Indeed, he plays with Miki in Piroshka now.

His vibe is very similar to Chris as well

I have listened to Lush for 25 years, always thinking it was the biggest loss in the history of music. I was out walking this morning and listened to them as I have done 100s of times before and decided to look them up online again. I had no clue about this. This makes so incredibly happy!!
Same story for Curve (same kind of music).
Slowdive's together again, too.

AT least they managed to release more than one album, there are far worse stories like Slowdive which was bashed by the critics, Swallow which could release one album and a EP before disbanding or more recently Her's where the duo died in an accident after just two albums.
Emma still keeps hypnotizing us with her composition (Thoughtforms is still dreamy) and her backing voices. Phil's bass is just fine, like old times. The drummer is doing an awesome job, just as when Chris was on the band. And Miki, you don't have your flaming red hair as it was usual, but you still have that sweet voice of yours.
Yep, even though I'll never see them live, I'm completely happy they are back.
'De-luxe' captures the period, for me, more than any other song. Absolutely magnificent song.
They kept the sound and all the details from their original recordings, even the singing. Brilliant!
Missed this tour in the states, one of my top all-time life bummers. Found out they came through a couple weeks after. Devastated.
I missed them in Chicago. They played the same night as the Misfits, and I decided to see the Misfits. Tough choice, but I had seen Lush before and thought they might come back. It's a bummer that it probably won't happen again.
@@davidstaudacher7718I live in Nashville but had to fly up to Chicago to see the Lush show. It blew my doors off. I only became a fan after they'd broken up so there was simply no way I could miss this.

So great seeing Miki and Emma on stage again, saw them in 1996, shortly before the break up. I was blessed to have the opportunity to meet Miki after the show and have been waiting anxiously for this reunion since then! Miki and the band still has it!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

I saw them on this tour and they sounded amazing. I think it was about 25 years between concerts for me.
I had no idea they reunited, and they sound absolutely amazing still! Loved them when I was a teenager.

First time I saw them I was quite young and just out of jail for part of the summer, in high school and about to graduate in San Francisco at the Fillmore in 1993. Couldn't have been better.

Being one of my favorites, I would be out of control for sure watching this concert. An amazing band that had some misfortune yet they have left us with a body of work that is incredible.
I discovered them when I heard Etheriel for the first time in the early 90's..since that day I knew that I would listen to this band for years

4:43 Is it just me,or does their Gala era songs just sound better?Maybe it was more effortless for them for some reason.Even though i like Split,its like they where trying to hard or something.Phil sounds great on the older songs too,maybe thats the reason,even though he wasn't the bassist at that time.

I'm new to Lush but love the sound - underrated band
I was never a fan of them in the 90's, because there was so much stuff going on, musically. But I'm certainly a fan now. Amazing shoegazing! :)

Saw Lush twice in Tokyo including the last gig before Chris passed... Love their whole sound and Miki is unreal.
I've been a deejay for many years here in Udine in Radio Onde Furlane. And I remember as today when a new Lush song was available was on air. No internet so our beloved record store knew.. Thank you very much for this video

Still sound amazing!! God, I pray they reform again! I learned of their reunion like 3 days after they played in Chicago. Was so upset I missed them.
Miss the band so much. This band is magic. I have listened to Light from a Dead Star thousands of times and is one of the best songs ever. Became friends with them in San Diego at 91XSunfest and even joked how STP stole the lick from For Love for Big Bang Baby. Saw them soon after at the Stone Palo Alto and then the Fillmore and met up in London. So terribly sad when Chris passed away. This reunion was amazing and hope it will happen again. I was so incredibly disappointed to not be able to see them in 2016 when they came through. Thank you for posting this. One of my favorite bands of the late '80s / early '90s. I caught the Lush bug in '89 but had to wait until "90 for them to come to Los Angeles with the incredible Cocteau Twins. Saw them again the next year with Ride, another of my favorite bands. I think my ears are still ringing from that concert. Bravo for this posting. Great sound.

Uh Oh. Light From A Dead Star, Emma. It's the lyric on the Split cover I bought in 1996. I also discovered Everything But The Girl at that time. Bought the two latest by them in 96 at the Virgin music store in NYC Including Missing and the Terry Todd remix. This was same timeframe and better. I mean Let Me Try To Pull You Free. ❤

I wish Lush would have released a live CD and DVD so this way we could always have something with them remember them by I know everybody says all he could use your your computer or iPhone but at the same time it's not the same as a big TV screen

It sucks getting old. And how could they not include "Nothing Natural" in their set? I miss seeing them young and vibrant-looking. Time flies so quickly

My friends and I adored Lush growing up. Bought tickets to both NY shows even though I now live half way across the country. We followed them around like puppies whenever they played and I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks! Side note, named my daughter Emma!

Thanks to everyone for this video and superb audio. I have just purchased the new Blind Spot EP and it stands up to the classics of theirs although Desire Lines will never be bettered. So glad they have re-emerged...Bliss.
I wish I’d known about this tour at the time. It was such a good setlist too. I can only hope they’ll eventually play again.
