This is Lush on a programme called Up The Junction (broadcast in the first week of February 1992, recorded in November 1991), The Junction being the venue for the show in Cambridge.
They perform For Love 0:03 which was their current single from their new album Spooky plus the brilliant Sweetness And Light 3:19.
Could Miki be anymore beautiful at this time. She was literally the hottest woman in the world to me.
My Lord, Miki was hot. More importantly, Lush was great, and still holds up in 2023!
Great composer but not lie yourself she´s not a great live singer.
Always thought she was a better singer than the critics gave her credit for. Her voice is a bit distant, but ethereal, which is perfect for this kind of music!
Wow, Miki so pretty back in the day!
I met Chris once in a club and he was a great bloke so friendly.
The Jesus & Mary Chain's loud guitars and buried vocals inspired so many bands but Lush were one of the few to capitalise on harmonies.
you could listen to lush then ride then my blood valentine for afternoon
Mikki is so beautiful singing
Miki so beautiful!!! But Lush is Awesome!! I Miss Bands like them!!! Shoegaze Live Forever!!!
Wonderful drumming. RIP Chris.
I saw this show. Steve still on bass before his departure...couldn't get enough of Lush. Chris looking good on the drum kit...the memories.
Props to Emma's songwriting and playing
This is a Miki song
Sweetness and light written by Emma
@@KevinRobertsPhotographyBoise for.love is Mikis composition
I only saw them once and never heard any of their records but they left a huge impression on me . Power and beauty ; such a tragedy about their drummer .
I seen this band in the 90s mikki is stunning to look at beautiful
Emma was also easy on the eyes!
Still crazy for you Lush, just LOVE IT !
Great band, timeless music…like all great bands.
i fall in love her since my young years of teenagers and i missed something in my french life ,maybe my passionnate kiss!!!
This band was so underrated.. love Lush.. todays music stinks..
Miki has a band today Piroshka. And she tours a trio
I love that there's mini moshing going on at a Lush show!
Mikki had to have been getting a kick out of that random energy in the crowd.
More lush!!!😊❤
the dream footage that I hoped existed - thank you
OmG Miki... I was so in love with her as a teen.
Kickass!
MIKI I WILL LOVE YOU ALL MY LIFE!!!!
This is a really good live version. Impressive.
to hear this live omg
So underrated. In the 90’s
I would give anything to be Mikki 's guitar!!
God, I love them.
Me too. 94/95/96 I listened to Lush all the time. They were a perfect pairing with a blunt and 3 chicks on a night cruise down the highway. Then I’d put on Undertow from Tool and the night was over.
Miki is great, Emma insisted on writing most of the songs by herself with no input from the band, and did very well, but Miki carries the band when performing live,
I always liked Miki's songs more. They translated better live and had a pop charm /appeal that Emma's more "atmospheric" songs lacked imo.
@@shadowplay5363I agree, Miki has more of a pop sensibility (hope that’s the right word) with her writing. Emma is a huuuuuge fan of Cocteau twins and it obviously shows in her songs. They both do their own thing very well.
@@SweetnessAndLight1738I love both their songs, but imo if I am thinking of top 10 lush songs for me Emma writes more of them , I think not caring about “pop sensibility” allowed her to make more interesting and prettier songs, on the other hand I think Mikis song have that “radio” element to them that Emma’s lack, so the albums end up having a good mix of both which is great
Lush was great!
❤️Lush
Again...thank you. Those were the days...
This is a great live, thank you for sharing.
@AgentKLF
its also still my favorite band, great music ever...
Amazing
Thank you
Fuck it’s 2022 and I’ve just discovered miki in 2010…! ❤
Thats okay, enjoy enjoy enjoy!!!
yeah this is 92 -93? We Old Now
I could watch Miki make out with the microphone all night. God I miss this band.
Thank you so very much for this!
Can't believe how hot miki is
her little movement at 00:19 is so cute haha
MIKI 90’s Crush …
wish that mic was me 😩😩
help 😭
So underrated
that's why i have to listen to the live bootlegs only (no videos)
No ink, no weird piercings. Lush…
And Super Hot.
It is a real shame Miki retired from the music industry. They are missing a great talent.
She is in a band, Piroshka
You should check out her book, giving her account of her time.
She does go out and play guitar in a band....
@@andrewphippsphillips1455 Book is brilliant isn't it.
Bro the tuning of the instruments live are sex 😂🎉
Better on the cd.
its so weired....if you see the interviews with her telling about her low self confidence .....and then imagine how many guys adored her....if she ever knew at that time. And Emma was such a pretty back then
You think that was important to either of them????????
Somebody get the girl a right angled guitar cable.
Where is the VOICE ? oh my gosh 😮
The studio recordings use a lot of echo & reverb, on voice & instruments alike. It's a part of the atmosphere of their music. This bone-dry direct sound is like Metallica switching off their distortion - not really supporting their sound.
A fantastic song, written by Miki.. but very much like those written by Emma.. I guess they were influencing each other a bit!
Hello😄
She can sing, its her style. Sorry it is not stamped out studio music from hollywood. Hey, wait, are YOU a lead singer in a band? Thought not!!.
Miki girl …
Senseual soft middle class waterproof rainmack wearing social worker Woman vibe look
Adorable voice
wft what u mean
She grew up harder than you did guaranteed.
I wish Miki would stop looking so beautiful... she's distracting me from the music! Lol
miki doesn't seem very enthused at 3:49
its that shoegaze vibe. expect the disinterest. we were all gen x'ers after all.
Stupid crowd, headbanging to "sweetness and light"
I dig the headbanging, it's very 1991 😊
Your opinion explains why you never get invited to parties....or have friends....or married. Just sayin' homie.
They're feelin it so what?
back then none of us had any sense. you seriously faulting teenagers for being teenagers?
@@robmac6508 I'm embarrassed to admit but you're so true.
Perhaps they should have got a singer ?
it can't be easy for them to sing and play guitar like they did. controlling one's lungs whilst strumming a guitar doesn't lend one's self to finesse vocal control. that's why they're recorded music sounds so much better. They don't have to sing whilst playing guitar in the studio.
its more like tripping, go watch hippies at woodstock, same shit
