What I love about Trinny’s closet confessions is that she champions the high street just as much as her designer pieces. It makes getting that designer look achievable,
100% it’s truly about styling and not an emphasis on brands.

This is the second time one of Trinny's videos has been useful to me - no-one else's ever has. The first resulted in my buying a dark green velvet Zara trouser suit she had rejected as miles too short everywhere for her, but was just right for me, and proved useful through the coldest days this winter; the second is this one. I'd been looking for a long, relaxed, fluid but stylish and smart cream summer coat to wear over two rag and Bone sleeveless frocks if the evening grew chilly, but having bought a grey Givenchy bag and some grey suede Manolo mules, was not willing to spend a lot. At the end of this video, Trinny wafted about wearing such a coat over her shoulders, it turned out to be from H&M and cheap, arrived creased into a rag, but emerged today after pressing at the cleaner's, looking spectacular, and a size XS is exactly what I needed. Hooray!

My favorite video in a long time. As usual, your bigger risks pay off the best. The nightie outfits look great on you. They're not that far from old fashioned slips or slip dresses from a couple decades ago. I just tucked a sheer top and camisole into my luggage for a trip to Italy next week. Trinny is authentic and entertaining. Her pick and mix dressing is pure art. Sometimes I got the feeling that she is a bit the "smiling depressed" girl who tries to make us feel good. Silly but I got the feeling that her aim is to encourge artistic pursuits that we can all afford and thst make us feel good. She comes across as humble, self depreciating and kind....thank you Trinny.....
Loved this video! I have a few lace & sheer pieces that I’ve not worn & this video was inspirational. My drawback is always that having a larger chest, it’s hard to find ways to wear sheer & be comfortable. I will be by ting a mesh or cotten slip in my skin tone. Thank you!

I agree re the nude coloured mesh underlay..I would do the same with the H&M embroidery anglais ensemble..don't like the white inlay on the skirt..detracts from it in my opinion.😊
I love pearls, but every outfit would have looked better without them. They are too literal with satin and sheer in my mind. I’m inspired to get a sheet skirt now! ❤

Trinny pulls off sheer because she has such a lithe, elegant body. I don’t think the sheer look is for me. I particularly liked the sheer skirt over the silk nightgown.
I started doing a long sleeve neon green mock neck mesh top under a casual elbow sleeve blouse and it’s a fun layer. Maybe you can find ways you like despite feeling insecure about your body. (I get it!!!)
🤔 Think out of the box 📦. Sheer can add such an unexpected touch of glamour, esp. to a high crew neck top (which is what I prefer for my 🚫cleavage rule).
⏳️As an hourglass w/extreme proportions, I live for body-con tops of all types to reduce excess fabric volume around my middle. The girls & extra wide hips have a tendency to make me feel fat😂〰️ excess fabric around my middle only makes it 💯 times worse🤣. However, when actually worn they can also be a little too pin-up or va-va-voom on my shape. An attitude or feeling as a more modest person, I don't wish to promote.
My main trick has always been to add a variety of tonal toppers (coats, blazers, gilets, waistcoats, etc.) as Trinny models here. These key pieces will only allow a hint at the voluptuousness below😊. They worked great in my more formal corporate days.
😎Also when having a lazy, super casual day, wearing a sheer LS top body UNDER a short or long loose denim overall, a utility type jump suit, or jumper/pinafore style dress will make you feel sexy w/o going over the top. The contrast of high drama w/these more casual low key pieces can feel edgy & playful.
😉 I also was gifted these colorful light cotton gauzy tops. They're somewhat blousy w/¾ sleeves. Very comfy in the heat, but sheer. Also need to balance the top's volume w/slimmer base layers. I can manage two wearing a nude skim underneath w/a color coordinated pencil skirt to slim & lengthen. The third, that's pink & white, I wear it w/a body-con white tank tucked into cuffed white denim shorts. Both of those additions follow my figure closely, while the top offers only a 👀peek-a-boo glimpse of shape below. Wear w/slim slip-on sneakers to match for a more fun casual feel.

I was hating the powder blue set. It looked ridiculous with the green sequin skirt/bandeau/belt!? I couldn’t tell what that was supposed to be. BUT, then u put the blue mesh over the nightie and….. it looked fab!! Shows why trying an outfit in so many ways, as u always do, is such a good idea!!❤😂

I am late 50's ...... I have always loved sheer but I am cautious now because of age. I aikido a pretty sheer blouse or top of an evening but have some silk camisoles that save my decency.

I'm a big fan of Friday Twinning. What has happened?
The green sequin belt is too short and better if left out altogether. The nightie would look allright if the lace around the V-neck was removed to make it sleeker and less like a nightie.
Regarding the sheer set w/your nightgown underneath: Pull a Courtney Love and throw on your combat boots. Then smoke out your eyes to complete the grunge look.
I can’t find that sheer blue set on Zara and I’m obsessed !! It looks stunning the way you styled it! Is it from this season?

I think wearing the sheer lilac two piece with a one piece underneath is the only way to go although I disagree in that i think that the sheer lilac top could be worn with the right bra to make it a rock chick look.
You could take the chest piece out of the Prada piece, turn it back to front and wear it over something as a gilet!

What a stunning collection. Love everything. I will never, for the life of me, understand why white lining (especially half lining) is sewn into any broderie anglaise or sheer piece. It just ruins the entire open-work effect. Let us line our own broderie anglaise with camis and slips in our own skin tones, pleeeease, designers and retailers!

Tinny can you pls pls do one for hot humid weather work wear. I have lots of jackets but in the heat of Indian summers even with Air-conditioning it feels ridiculous wearing jackets (even if it's Ralf Lauren / Balmain etc). So how do you look expensive/structured/professional yet cool and comfortable outside of a white shirt and linen trouser
I live in shirtdresses & silk blouses in the summer months (I'm also in a humid subtropical climate).
A gilet is also useful for layering without getting too hot (so long as you wear it open & in a natural fibre). It looks especially professional with a structured shoulder - waistcoats too. If it's belted then I just tie the belt in the back instead of the front.
Even if Trinny wore a Bin liner it would look great.

The back of the Prada dress that you tried on first, is stunning on you. I think exposing one’s back is sexy without revealing too much of more obvious ‘sexy parts’ especially with that waist slip under it. You should even try that with your beautiful nightgown under it, but then you’ll hide your back, and honestly it looks gorgeous and not too revealing even at our age. I’m the same age as you.
