- In this week's Closet Confessions, our mission is to breathe new life into old favourites. After culling, donating, and hours of deliberating, the next step in my wardrobe revival journey is to take the clothes that still deserve a place in my closet and work with an open mind (or perhaps a pair of scissors) to style them up and transform them into something that feels fresh.

Yes, Molly’s look is clever - it’s stylish , comfortable and unexpected. Boots are fabulous, and we can appreciate the drape and swing of the maroon fabric.

I like both, I will say the only thing I didn’t like about Trinny’s look was the boots.
I LOVE Molly’s version of the kimonoesque dress! The neon underneath with the grey trousers and heeled boots….genius! Very chic, and totally modern.

Thought Trinny SLAYED👩🎤 them each. It's just that in RECREATING these outfits in my own wardrobe I'm much more likely to have the "Molly finds".
¹Have a handful of joyful bright tops that I love, but am clueless😔 how to style w/all my dark neutrals. ²Utility &/or combat military-esque cropped trousers are a staple in my closet.
🤍Love their elegant masculine simplicity & lightweight breathabilty of those cropped fabrics in my extreme climate🥵. (🚫👖 or thick classic chinos for me〰️as an hourglass⏳️ I dislike their heavier weight & structure😂.) ³My metallic bling extends to bags, sandals, & some sneakers.
🤩Trinny's stash of shimmery sparkly style pieces is mind🤯blowing. As a magpie, I delight in it. I am a c-o-n-s-e-r-v-a-t-i-v-e classic & glamour leaning ultra feminine gal w/a bold bit of anti-establishment.
😊Could 100% rock that two-tone dress as a topper layer.
😈Trinny's tempting me to branch out into some UNDERSTATED ✨️shine✨️. 🤔Could picture myself in that turtleneck & pleated skirt as a BASE layer. Believe it or not, that graphic dress dials down ⬇️ the glitzy Vegas 🎰 vibe to something I could tolerate👍.

😊Trinny rocks gray! Used to dislike the color on myself😖. Once thought it was rather lack luster & insipid, but I've come to appreciate it's elegance, tradition, & power.
She helped me finally figure out that it was gray w/WARM undertones that turn my complexion sickly🤢. ✨️Cool grays make my complexion pop✨️.
🥰Adore gray tonal looks now too. Nothing pleases me more than that continuous column of monochromatic color. It's so slimming & elongating↕️.
😉Just choose to wear any neutral or warm gray undertones on a base layer or bottom piece⬇️ . Also add a red lip💄 & slighter darker blush if one of those grays is toward the top half.
🤫That's what I love about Fashion Rules. There are always work arounds when you want to break one of them.

Oh my… your closest confessions inspire me… as a women of a certain age it’s so good to challenge ourselves in what we wear. Love, love the tulle skirt… not sure I’d take the lining out though! The last outfit I preferred Molly’s creation too the best.

😎In warm weather🌡, wear w/black bike shorts underneath. ¹For quirky casual: go black Converse hightops & black shimmery mini-backpack. ²For more formality: swap sneakers for black ballet shoes, & the 🎒tote for a pretty 👛clutch or petite handbag👜 also in black.
🌬For chilly weather🌡, wear black leggings in block heeled combat boots & either a black cropped moto jacket or black duster trench. And, choose a black or silver metallic crossbody.

Oh that “Cor” jacket with casuals is SO striking (without collar).
Keep the collar on the Courreges, with the collar it has a cool 1960s vibe, without the collar it looks like a Star Trek villain costume.
😊Agree. It does give 60s Sci-Fi👽Evil Villain vibes w/o it. Keep the collar. It's more versatile. Easy enough to have a friend help tuck it out of the way...if the mood strikes her.
🤔Would also keep the collar on the button up shirt w/the striking statement cuffs. 🪄 The houndstooth print clash was superb✨️. 🖤Also adored the collar & hem peeking out of the sparkly black textured cropped Antwerp sweater vest too🖤.

I think the Courrèges is such a special and rare piece I would not remove the collar. I actually think the difference between the collar tucked in / collar on show, in this case, is very minimal.

😊Yes, it probably would be rather striking over an all navy base. That purply pink & navy seem super compatible.
🤔Had my doubts about the silver metallic w/the dress turned topper, but on my cell📲 it also made the beige read as more gray which I liked👍. If so, it seems like an even darker navy base would similarly transform that lighter color...🎉
😉Thought both looks were attractive. 💜Love the versatility of turning a silky soft centered button dress into a colorful lightweight topper. 😎Once it heats up here🌡, blazers & even some gilets become impossible to wear in LA🥵.

😊Yes, loved it. That light nylon fabric is actually one of my favorites. Usually it's quite lightweight, comfy, & breathable here to wear in🌡LA😎.
The dark, moody color subdued the girly ruffles. Thought the puffy diagonal tiers were interesting & leaned grunge. The LS shirt underneath the bodice brought in an elegant vintage 50s vibe, & it reinforced a corset impression.
The waistcoat on top w/the longer bubble skirt underneath struck me as steampunk. All Edgy Glam at it's finest...🖤Yes!

Molly’s version is on point, the dress works better as a flowy "coat", the look is very modern.
Oooh Trinny if that is a genuine 60’s courreges silver coat just respect it, wear it with its barely there collar! Let that stunning piece of fashion history do the talking, it is still relevant today & it is all about the styling… in my very humble opinion! Channel Carla Rockmore, she would never commit the sacrilege of de-collaring a vintage courreges piece!
I couldn't agree more. Tampering with a vintage piece is sacrilege! It would be the same as painting over part of a masterpiece. This courreges silver coat is a museum heirloom that needs to be honored and respected for it's artistic vision. Because it's not is the custody of a professional textile/fashion curator is no reason that it should be violated in any way. This piece deserves to be exhibited "as is" as a milestone in the evolution of 20th century fashion.

This is absolutely fantastic. I don’t have any idea how to style my clothes. Especially the last few years was the pandemic and then I got ill for months and now I spend all of my time in pyjama pants at home if you could do another one of these was a model who is shorter. Very different needsthan you lovely gals, and I definitely don’t have any bling in my closet but wow, this was fun to watch!
I think the space jacket silver could be worn with a mock neck or turtleneck black . So very sleek on top. Then with a wide high low skirt on bottom. Then have high very chunky boots on bottom maybe lace up boots. Kind of give it a cool current yet flash back punk look. Just a suggestion. Embrace the weird puffiness of the jacket give it a hard edge instead of trying to make it soft.
I bet this jacket with higher back that you put together with the Zara pants and vest, would look awesome with that sheer organza skirt!
