Looks like a fun tool. I am surprised the focussing probe attaches magnetically instead of some stronger fastener, but maybe that is intentional so that it can give way. Maybe it prevents the machine from accidentally pressing a hole through a part (as might’ve happened on the tumbler at the 11:19 mark), or from damaging the laser if it was more rigidly attached.
Yes the probe does come away easily but it stops it getting damaged if it fouls on something
you could put a usb extension cable that you bring round to the front for better access, same for switch I guess :)
