Of course; far from being just functional, modern designs are just as luxurious as their motor powered counterparts, and are arguably far more beautiful to look at. "Shenandoah of Sark" surely the epitome of what a true sailing yacht should be..? Grace, Pace,Comfort and Sublime elegance, whether at sea or at anchor and now over 120 years old..!! Pity that many of the shots you included were not the actual vessel herself..!

I reckon that all of these yacht-like super-vessels, with their vast saloons and cabins, with no handholds, would become mighty 'interesting' in heavy seas or sailing hard to windward in a 40 knot blow with a 30 degree heel angle LOL

These guys travel generally with delivery crews who are experienced in these style vessels and cherry-picking weather for moving but you don’t usually see them away from the Med-Caribbean routine, they don’t often do the pacific or SE Asia … there’s no one to show off to.
@@cemasti4524 In thisntype of yetchs, it is common that the ship crosses oceans with only the professional crew, and the owner & family/friends fly to the destination and boatd the yatch there for the navigation in the cruising area.
Nevertheless, there are some big dailing yatchs that are sailed bluewater with the owner

Nice video and topic, but at least the clip at 13:58 shouldn´t be right, it has 2 masts and diffrent sails than in the first picture.

@@simonjackson7269 there are still many historic ships that lack an auxiliary engine, not to mention smaller racing yachts and all sailing dinghies...
I live in Monaco in the south of france and I always see Sailing yacht A and Motor yacht A it looks like a submarine 😂

Sailing Yacht A is amazingly ugly. I'm sure it is a really bad sailor, as well. No doubt the owner overrode the advice of the NA many times.
@@timdunn2257 I have to agree with your opinion Sir. To me the most ungainly looking vessel afloat, but she should not really qualify for listing here as it is at best a "Sail Assisted Motor Yacht". Either way a perfect example of

@@peterlbaldwin511 Hello, friend! I'm an old yachtie. In 1971 I made my first voyage from the US to Hawaii, some 2300 nautical miles in my 35 foot sloop. She was lovely, but a bad design in big waves. I made other sea crossings later.
Looks like a former battleship.

Thirty four years back, I joined a Swiss eighty foot steel ketch in Australia's bicentenary celebration. We sailed from Brisbane to Hobart. I was mocked, bring aboard my equipment. To my astonishment, I was the only one aboard commpetant to sail it. 70 knot winds and forty foot waves were about to destroy it when at 9am, I excused myself and seized the wheel, amid general panic. I sailed a comfortable yacht, a true course for nine hours receiving course changes from the owner but, when I looked about I found we were in the wrong bay and we were about to be knocked down by the stronger upper hurricane force winds, being drawn down to the surface behind a five hundred foot tall headland. We lived but the owner was angry I had showed up his deadly incompetence.

He should have been grateful to you for saving his life, his crew, his guests, and his yacht. There is a story abut the owner of Oracle, a huge American company that makes database management systems for huge companies. It sounds a lot like his story. I'm an old yachie, a Yank, that sailed my own boat from Seattle to Auckland via Tahiti, and then on to Hong Kong. I've sailed across the equator four times.

Shenandoah,,Shamrock, and Marie have the most beautiful lines, although probably require a tremendous amount of maintenance. The interiors sort of suck.

The Black Pearl is a weird boat for me. One one hand parts of it are beautiful but the bow shape is really strange to me and bothers the hell out of me every time I look at it.

You are mixing images from various different yatchs when talking about one
If you use B-role to pack out your videos, make sure it is the same vessel and not some strange yacht. A very poor rookie mistake.

So completely missing some of the worlds actual most beautiful sailing ships, (most of them Training Ships), in favor of simple oligarch owned luxury yachts that might be expensive but has only few or even absolutely none of the aesthetics of original sailing ships

The Real Game here is to guess what is the real boat and what is just a picture or footage of random boats. It's so annoying and makes the difference between a good content and a clickbite content, made just to get the "numbers" to earn money. Good for you.
