The movie was based on a book by Karl Alexander by the same title. There was a sequel volume as well. They can be found in Kindle format at Amazon.

The book was actually being written at the same time as the script for the film. The writer gave the director a sample of what he was writing and he loved it and started developing the script. The book came out right around the time the film did
