Never let a shipper dictate how you secure your load. Just agree while you're there, then when you leave, stop and do what's required by DOT and make you feel comfortable. If DOT sees that you only have one piece of securement on each piece, you're screwed. Not to mention if that one strap breaks, you're career is in jeopardy. Be safe my friend
The ductwork was twisting on the trailer due to only one strap. Each stack should have two straps. Remember, you are in charge of that truck, not the shipper. if they don't want to do it as you know it needs to be done, refuse the load. When something happens on the highway and DOT is there with their ticket book, the shipper is not going to run out and say, "We told her to do it that way."
CYA
@@scottycollins1829 Agreed.
Another load delivered. You handle your trailer very well when backing. Better than some seasoned drivers I’ve seen. Take care of those sweet dogs!
Some of these shippers have no idea how to haul those materials behind a desk but did an amazing job with it Becca thanks for the videos ❤
How did I rush securement? I secured it how they demanded. Or else I was damaging the load. Yall are easy to say what to do when you aren’t in others shoes. I should’ve had it offloaded there was no other way. And no I couldn’t strap it from the middle bars either. I would’ve just lost a week of work and costed the company. But I made it. Move on.
You should have your merch team create a shower bag, flip flops and towel. UA-cam truckers be missing what truckers use out here! Along with tools we use for the truck, tire thumper, flashlight, air gauge, gloves, etc.
My two cents:
I have an idea for strapping that ductwork if you ever have to do another load of them.
Hook the strap on the side of your trailer as normal and throw the strap up over the first side/wall. Bring the thrown end diagonally down through the ductwork to the other side of the trailer attachment point. Only take up the slack on the first one. Repeat the same thing from the other side of the trailer. Alternately tighten each one until they're tight. You need to alternate a couple of times to insure that you don't shift the load off center. The diagonal strapping technique will cancel the shifting each way. I realize you'll need twice as many straps but it will be worth the peace of mind.
Another two cents:
Get yourself a length of light rope that will reach over the top of your load to the ground on the other side. Somehow attach something akin to a softball to the end of the rope. Now you can throw the ball (or whatever) over your load with the light rope trailing behind. Now tie-off the light rope to the end of your strap and pull it up over your load from the other side. Should work in theory.
Now if I can just figure out how to change my smartphone ringtone to you saying, "You Ate My Chicken", that would make my day!
I admire your work ethic Becca. You stay safe out there little one.
All the best from Massachusetts!
☮️ on 🌎
Correctly
that is great advice well said. like that you Ate my🐓 Chicken chicken 🐔licking🤣🤣
That was a good idea an could have used plenty of straps to RIGHT ON!
Wow, every time I see a flat bed on the interstate I look at the straps i am not a truck driver. And the shipper new what they were doing was wrong. This load made your hay bales look like a cake walk. You kept it all together.
Nice camera angles when you're doing the yard moves!
“You ate my chicken!” We’ve gotta have this on some merch! Lol 😂
Great idea!!
Ringtone.
🤣
Wanna see a big rig Becca woot woot on a shirt lol 😂
Yeah they did not put the proper dunnage on there at all. You needed to have 2 pieces of 10 foot long wood on the top and bottom so you could put 2 straps on each stack.
@@chadpflanz8745 I don’t think regular dunnage would have cut it. Looking at the load, you’d need 10 ft wide pieces, which I’ve never seen anybody carrying around on the back of their truck. Looks like the shipper tried using regular 8 foot wide pieces in conjunction with smaller pieces because they didn’t have anything wide enough. Which was why they kept falling off like she was saying.
@@chadpflanz8745 it wasn’t regular dunnage ppl carry lmao. My dunnage is like 60 pounds no way I was getting them on top of the load. Was a skinny piece of wood just to throw a strap over.
When you said “I got a strap on” I was dying lol
BDB instead of BRB.
I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN HAPPY TO GET ANY LOAD DELIVERED AND OFF MY TRUCK.
One strap on each bundle was just an accident waiting to happen. You got lucky with that load, BRB. But then that’s all ya need sometimes is a little luck. I bet you learned a few things on that load. You know your in trouble when an office worker is trying to tell you how to do your job. It’s a bit different rolling down the highway at 65 at 40 ton than sitting in front of a key board and you just broke your nail, poor thing. Been there done that and got the T-Shirt. Some loads just can’t get off quick enough. Great video, shows how shippers put drivers lives in harms way. If that would have fallen off, guess who’s at fault. Anywho BRB, have a great and a safe day, happy trails to you, D..
Two straps per 'box,' common sense.
Yea that’s what I was thinking yea there light but you have to consider the length
I thought that but I ain't a trucker. She's a great girl though. Hard working.
You can only put a strap where the dunnage is or you'll crush them
@@Nolefan1966 tell dot that one and they will give you the ticket
@@Nolefan1966you can add as many straps as there are rollers, they don’t gotta be super tight, but if Becca doesn’t have enough straps then that’s an issue unto itself.i’ve had similar loads, absolutely a pain in ass because everything bends and flexes, then you gotta deal with the customer, but I’d rather do that then have the load shift. Its six of one, half dozen of the other.
It is impossible to not just LOVE BRB!!
your dogs are the most cutest and happiest ever 🤍
Hell yea BRB! Back to back! Posts keep em coming
Haha im trying!! :)
@Bigrigbecca you did great Becca. I take my test for pilot on Wednesday. I’m nervous. I’ve never driven the pilot car. Once I get it all done, I’ll be fine. They are looking for one more person out of a Joplin to take the test.
@bigrigbecca yes queen u doin well with them pretty feet 😍
Yep keep em coming only bright spot of the day
The shipper/manufacture needs to have their contract canceled! They had an estimator that didn't now how to bid the job.....but thinks he/she knew everything.
Been there, had those kind of loads delivered to me and as soon as I saw the load arrive I knew the shipping department and the estimator were not "on the same page!"
I'm glad you arrived safely with no accidents. Keep on trucking!
Great job Becca!!! You got er dun!!
WOOT WOOT!!!
1200 miles by tomorrow morning? Sounds like those DAWGS are going to help you drive on through the night
Hi Becca. Found your videos a couple of weeks ago. They showed up in the recommended section for some reason even though I've never watched a truck video but I'm glad they did because I watched one and have been hooked since. Now I'm catching up and watching all your vids! Your personality is great and you are hilarious. You're awesome. Take Care. Woop Woop!
They knew you would like me. LMAO jk but that’s so awesome I’m glad you enjoyed and decided to keep watching!! 🤘🏼❤️
Love the exterior shots in this video! Especially the headache rack shots. Very creative!
22:30 _"BTW It’s a ticket for leaving oversize load signs on when no longer having permitted load!!!"_
Many years ago I was about half way through a multi-day, multi-stop delivery. I had just started climbing a mountain in SC toward the NC lane. I’m in about the highest gear I can run and still navigate the winding two-lane road pulling a 48’ box. The line of cars behind me was getting longer. Then I met an oversize escort coming down the mountain with a banner on his front bumper. I slowed down all the way down to second gear in anticipation of meeting a bigger truck. Now the line of cars following behind me was rapidly growing.
After driving about a mile in second gear without meeting a truck, I got on the radio and asked “Is there an oversize load coming down the mountain?” No reply, and I never met a truck. The escort was just driving off-duty still displaying his oversize banner.
After slowing down, I’m stuck in 2nd gear for the rest of the climb. There wasn’t anywhere to pull over until beyond the summit. When I finally was able to pull over, about thirty cars drove past and several displayed their displeasure with my slow driving.
To that escort driver still displaying his banner, thanks a lot buddy! You caused frustration for a lot of other drivers, and made me look like the idiot.
23:44 Nooooooo, I want more! 😅 Well done managing a shit situation, though.
Great great video Becca. You did a great job.❤😊
hi big rig becca i hope you are doing ok i saw your over size load video you did good 😊 ❤ very proud of you doing good look up trucking with Schmidt he has red kw truck he has a dog to but he has 5 step hook on drivers door this could help with your dogs ok. be safe and keep on trucking by for now
Glad you made it safely!❤
Great video Becca 😊
Hey brb, love ur content ,u have such determination no matter how difficult the job u always get it done, just wanna put this out there as the driver of that truck u are in charge you tell them how it should b loaded onto ur trailer cause u have to haul it down the highways don’t let a loader tell u how to b a truck driver
Love your videos, safe travels, thanks for sharing .
Your the best to get that load there. Prayers for better days ahead. Stay safe pups & mom.
You got it done Becca! Keep up the awesome work! Back to back videos can I get uhh whoop whoop!
I hope you had a great week, love the videos!
Thanks! I hope you did too :)
I love your spirit. Let’s get her done.
Afternoon Becca Drive Safe and Stay Safe
Safe travels trucking Becca
Love your work ethic and get it done tenacity! Impressive
I'm sure you did the best your best with what you had. Thanks for taking us along for this less than desirable load. Be safe Becca!!!
Good job on getting it done.
Dang Becca!! That was great job!!
Man and ART just wanted you to pull a reefer lol! You're definitely putting in the work!
She doesn’t pull reefer??
When i hear its the second load in this new position, its still experimental. The shipper receiver maximize there load all they can, up to driver to do the rest. I've pulled 18ft wide with restricted speeds, i rather pull those boxes . Keep on oversize trucking and making videos Becca
It's a miracle that load was still on your trailer on reaching your destination WELL done Becca on getting it there I don't expect to see you rushing back to Nebraska for a 2nd helping ..Cheers and best wishes from Sydney Australia
Becca you are good at what you do. You was able to get the job done and take the extra time to check on your load.
Hi Becca!
Glad you show the ins, and outs, of flatbed trucking. Is there anyway you could stash an 8 foot stepladder?
Your brother getting his tractor put back together?
Be safe out there! 👍🚛
You handled that so much better than I would have, great job BRB
Yes I’m wearing flip flops and I don’t give a
f**k 😂😂😂😎Dave H
🤣🤣🤣
you are forever slanging these jokes 🤣 2:50 hilarious ‼️
Very interesting. It appears that the boards on the floor should have been to nailed to the nailer board on each side of the bed. It definitely looks like a load that is definitely difficult to secure.
Wowzer what a tough load. But you handled it like a pro. Job well done Becca
Thanks for another fun video
Loads like that are a pain because they’re hollow and the wind moves them but you got this Becs. That’s what she said
Congrats on delivery
Great 👍 job and you secure the load that you feel comfortable. These shippers never drove trucks in there life. I know what you mean. I had that same problem before. You should invest v-bords. V-bords helps.
Safe travels Cali
You are soooooo damn funny. Love your personality. Keep on truckin!!!!!!!!!!
Should have just tossed the straps straight up and down on either side, to pull straight down to eliminate the shifting of the load
You handle business. Good shit!
Those are some big ass shiny metal members on your gorgeous step deck Big Rig Bec. Oh yeah!!
Happy Sunday Becca
happy Sunday!!
@@bigrigbecca Your birthday is exactly 1 week before mine. We are Leo Queens
Love your videos Becca, be safe on your trip back to Ohio
U can always say what's on ur mind love 💞
Safety first. Just because something is possible, does make it advisable. It's your call, but it's also your life and career --not to mention the safety of others on the road. Lawyers love the word forseeable.
Yay Becca!!! 🌹
Always looking good my beautiful queen
Hi Becca, I know for a fact that data centers and a computer chip factory are currently under construction right now around the Johnstown area in Licking County, Ohio. Have a great week and safe journeys on the roadways. 😀
Double straps on each unit all the time love
You should never risk your safety over their profit. Knowledge takes experience, so you were a trooper, even with a dirky load.
Dirka dirka, was there turbans? 😅
Chur all the way from New Zealand🤟 love ya vids, your almost motivating me to start trucking in the US😅
You should see about getting custom fit oversized load banners for the front and rear for install and securement.
Me encantan tus videos, admiro tu valentía y determinación en todo lo que haces, hermosos acompañantes,un abrazo y saludos de un español en México.
I'll see you when you get home Becca Ilove you
You got er done!
Hey Big Becca,Clean your window,Dame girl.🤣
Becca it's not problem put 2 straps on cross them through the center like an X through center that way you have 2 straps over each bundle
Good job
What a headache of a load!! But you got it there! Becca be safe out there. Next time you'll have it down pat!
Dam becca that allmost looks like an equivilent load to those dam rolls of hay!! Glad you made it ok!❤❤
Its only 900 miles there and 900 miles back so who gives a turkey 🦃🦃🦃🦃 keep up the great work Becca blessings from Martinsville Indiana Jesus saves
Take the time to take care of yourself on the road BRB!
I Just Love Your Videos
I've moved those a few times, I screwed boards into my deck in the corners of them, and you need two straps over and then use use ratchets to choke them.
Trucks for different jobs and the HD is really good at handling the heavy stuff!
Another lesson learned, another experience to better prepare you for the next challenge. You did good! Be well.

Was that parking lot really uneven?
The cab of your truck was really rocking.
Inspect your shocks and cab airbags.
Wow that load was sketchy, I was worried just watching, cant even imqagine how you were sweatuing it out. Cowboy'd up and got-r-done wow. Be safe Driver and have a good one.
What a kick in the Duct!! Keep on trucking BRB!!🇺🇸
Right on LOL 😆

Tellihandler - Telescoping forklift
That was funny sweetheart that first throw.
Becca you got very lucky on that one. DOT requirements are 1 strap 5ft or less and 2 straps for 10 ft. On a full load you would need 5 straps for 40 ft. Definitely needed two 2 three straps on each unit. Dont let shipper tell you otherwise. They said one strap because the are worried about bending the units. Would recommned corner protectors also. Here is a little trick to help you. I will try to explain but sometimes you have to see too understand. Maybe ill make a video. LOL. Pull out as much strap as you think youll need. Roll the strap just like you were doing. About 6 ft from trailer take the roll in your hand and fold it forward over your extra strap. Grab the extra strap and let it and the strap you rolled up and let it fall back. You want to make large loop with the rolled up strap at the bottom. This will create a sling. Now you can really get some momentum with the strap and it takes all the stress off your shoulders. Also works great when it is very w indy. Stay safe.
PS there are several videos on you tube to help ya.
it just reminded me of that load with hay that it was falling apart. I salute and knew how u felt. but I'm glad u were brave and. handle it
Another way of strapping down since your straps are short
Hooked your strap to the trailer go inside the load, straight up and down the outside to your winch do the same on the other side of the trailer and you’re strapped down both sides that way
I would've strapped the inside support bars so it couldn't move.
They were weak asf they would’ve broke
Need get a mini crank for that situation!😂❤
Great Job Becca. Talk about a nightmare
You need to install some strobe lights on the rear of the trailer and on the truck I would also add quick connect flag mounts on the rear of the trailer and front of the truck
Cross strapping, up one side and through the middle, mirror on other side, to keep from shifting (just like cross chaining a container on a flatbed). Also if you got flat hook straps, use your straps to shift the load. Put the hook on the edge and slowly winch it in, it'll pull the load over
Omg 🤦♀️ what a job! You go tell them! 😂 you are the Boss! That’s tough!
U need that Kareem sky hook! Nice wind up tho...
Never damaging the load is good either. Never let anybody dictate how you strap your load because you're the one that pays the cost to be the boss. It may be your brother's company but you both will take the hit. If it's not strapped down properly.
Becca as long as u are comfortable
