Quick update on 2 points of misinformation in this video (HUGE thanks to Sekiro Dubi for pointing these out to me):
    1. Rico's questline was supposed to end in Mohgwyn Palace, not the Haligtree
    2. Using Kalé's voice line about Dream Mist is a little misleading, since that was originally used for a quest entirely separate from Rico's
Luckily I don't think this invalidates any major conclusions, but that's still 100% my mistake for making those assumptions.
If you want to learn more about Kalé's cut questline, you should definitely watch Sekiro Dubi's video on St. Trina's Lullaby and the Red Eyed Merchants here: ua-cam.com/video/LK_8F_XwLaE/v-deo.html

A big problem in this video and part of your bloom theory: Malenia never stabbed herself. What she's actually doing in the trailer is bracing the blade against her shoulder so she can use her bodyweight to drive it further into Radahn; she succeeds in this attempt and that's why Radahn is paralyzed and kneeling in the next shot. This does cause the tang of the blade to go a few inches into her shoulder because the blade doesn't have a handle (being built directly into her prosthetic arm), but this is both a minor penetration and completely incidental to the action she was taking, which was to stab Radahn in the neck. This is even explicitly stated on the storyboards of CGWorld 286:
      i.imgur.com/jRCA7if.png
      i.imgur.com/sReKau1.png
What she's doing is pretty obviously visible even in the trailer (the sword is nine feet long yet the entire thing below Malenia's hand just disappears in Radahn's body, and the last frame before the cut even shows it start to slide into his shoulder/neck), but the animatics we get of the event (also in CGWorld), on top of the storyboard, just make it undeniable. The hand-drawn notes on the third image from the left even say in Japanese:
“Further using her entire body/the sword deeper and deeper/twisting and driving in” (+down arrow pointing at Radahn's neck wound)
Whereas the fifth panel of the first image says:
      "full-body blade"
You'd think if self-harm was even part of the plan rather than just something she did incidentally in the process of stabbing him, her intent would be noted on the storyboard notes that are specifically there for direction, but they're not. Also while not directly related that article also has an interesting tidbit from From's cinematic director where he notes that Malenia was already wounded before she found Radahn (presumably from cutting through his army) and then he talks about her state of mind going in to the fight.

My biggest hope is that Miquella’s story gets fleshed out and expanded upon in DLC. And if Miquella gets his own ending like the cut content suggests, then I hope we don’t have to fight him. Unless, that is, he has various forms and one of them is the monstrosity that’s sleeping in Mohgwyn Palace. I’d take a guess and say he has an ethereal form like Ranni and the “burned and bodiless” form of Melina.

It seems that Miquella (out of all the Demi-gods) was the closest to becoming at the very least equal to Marika if not outright surpassing her. Out of the 3 Empyreans (Ranni and Malenia being the other 2) Miquella seems to have an alter ego of the opposite sex as St. Trina, the same way that Marika has Radagon. There seems to be an idea that being able to do that is a sign of true Godhood.
Miquella seemed to be well loved and loved in return, and there’s ton of evidence that his ambition was to fix ALL the problems in the Lands Between. He provided sanctuary for the ostracized, he wanted to sever the influence of the Outer Gods be it the Greater Will, the Scarlet Rot, and cut content implies he had plans for the Flame of Frenzy as well, he may have even have wanted to somehow bring Godwyn back to life. Miquella seems like a stand up guy. If his story is expanded in DLC I hope he adds an additional Ending to the game, maybe some kind of Golden Ending where everything is fixed. Unlikely given the history of FrontSoftware games but we’ll see.

@@dylanfallin2637 It’s possible. The only shadows we’ve seen in game (so far) were Maliketh and Blaidd, Marika and Ranni’s shadows. Theoretically, Miquella and Malenia should have their own as well. However, according to the lore, Shadows have lupine or wolf-like features. We don’t have a perfect idea of what St. Trina looks like. There’s some iconography on St. Trina’s torch that looks relatively humanoid, quite a few theorist (including myself) speculate that’s meant to represent St. Trina. Interestingly enough, some theories have connected St. Trina (Miquella) to the Godskins, who are extremely vulnerable to Sleep.

Ranni and Malenia both stop trying to become that. For Ranni she wanted to deny fate etc and Malenia wanted to prop up her brother, So that basically just makes him the closest automatically. Not to mention Malenia having some bias towards her brother. Be a bit more objective.

I wonder why no one seems to analyse that both Malenia and Miquella are the answer to one another curse. Malenia's rot could be used to mature Miquella into adulthood. And Miquella's time stopping eternal curse, unaltered flesh is the exact opposite of Malenia's curse.
    I don't know how to tie St trina to this or if it should be tied but I think the parallel is quite interesting;

But then Mogh said "I like ya and I want ya" and Malenia spilled all the spagetti sauce to the floor. I am sure the DLC will be called "Miqellas worst day in landsbetween yet"

Depending if you help or challenge Millicent she either blooms or just simply dies (though I might not remember that correctly). That would leave us with Malenia's phase transition as second or third bloom respectively so I think that makes the theory a bit unlikely.

When I found Millicent my main theory was that she actually was Milenia. It seemed to fit so perfectly, so in retrospect, it would make sense that this was the original story they planned, although I am unsure why they decided to change it, since I feel like this could have been a very cool questline.
Although, to be fair, her being carried home by a knight of hers is badass too, and Millicent now mirroring the journey, with us now being her knight could be an interesting idea to explore, but unfortunately the game doesn't really.
That being said, this video re-ignited my fascination with Elden Ring lore. I kind of felt like, unlike with the other games, Elden Ring was a little to confusing to be interesting since there are a few too many question-marks and I would have loved to get more of a taste of the complicated and deep story-beats and characters Martin probably came up with, but this video kind of gave me that taste. Really loved it :) I also think you struck a great balance between Vaati-esk epic-ness and memes. Keep it up, I'll look forward to your next vid :)

What if Melina is actually Miquella? He’s known to be feminine and passes as St. Trina as well. He made a cocoon and rested in it to grow himself, but unlike normal mortals, his method of growth resulted in moulting. His shed skin is held by Mohg in the cocoon, but it doesn’t seem to be alive and doesn’t respond. Because it’s simply an empty skin. Melina says she remembers her mother in a tree, but doesn’t specify Marika. In the Haligtree, where the space for the cocoon is, is the image of a woman. This is Melina’s “mother” she met inside the Haligtree, not the Erdtree. Mohg wasn’t in Miquella’s blood, he was trying to fill the empty skin with the Formless Mother so she could take physical form in the world. The pool he emerges from is the Formless Mother inhabiting the shed skin of Miquella. We know that Empyrean flesh, even without a soul (like Godwyn) is incredibly powerful.

      @dyppityjoop5912 Рік тому +39

Coulda been, but a couple issues with that:
Melina is housing a fragment of the destined death within her left eye, as shown in the Chaos Flame ending, and Miquella has no relation to destined death
She is a fire maiden and Miquella is associated with trees, mind magic (bewitching branches, and the whole beloved by all thing) and if Trina is Miquella maybe sleep.
Melina is a adult, while Miquella is cursed to forever be a child. I know he put himself into the cocoon to get rid of the curse, but the metamorphosis never finished so I think he is still probably cursed.
However I do think Melina and Miquella do have a relationship together. I think their siblings, and that the twins were actually triplets. As each lineage of demigod children have a naming scheme. Twins Mohg and Morgott start with Mo. 3 children between Renalla and Radagkn start with R. The children of the Godfrey start with G, Godwyn, Godrick etc. I Think Melina plays into this name thing, as Miquella and Malenia start with M. But that's circumstantial at best, whats better evidence is the existence of the Aeonian, Nascent and Smouldering butterflies. In the description of the Aeonian and Nascent butterflies it relates to Malenia and Miquella respectively, Aeonian talks aboug a Goddess of Rot and Nascent says it looks like it just emerged from a cocoon for its entire life, aka it looks just born for its entire life which is a similar situation with Miquellas whole forever a child curse, also Miquella created a cocoon himself, so the relation is pretty obvious. As for the Smouldering butterfly there is no demigod to relate it to, unless you include Melina, aka the kindling maiden, as it states on the Blade of Calling, Melina's own dagger. Smoldering 's description states its an eternally burning butterfly used as kindling, which is similar to Melinas situation, as she is used as kindling for the flame to burn the Erdtree. Additionally her daggers weapon art 'Blade of Gold' is said to 'charge the armament with golden flames'.
Also in her dialogue she constantly talks about her mother and Marika, and she literally says 'I'm searching for my purpose given to me by my mother inside the Erdtree', the only woman inside the Erdtree is Marika, and since she knows so much about Marika, it's pretty safe to say she is a demigod child of Marika. Another thing is that when you finish Boc the seamsters questline she speaks this line 'Your seamster, Boc... I see him crying, from time to time. I think he misses his mother. He wants someone to tell him he's beautiful. Does being born of a mother... Mean one behaves in such a manner?', despite earlier talking about a mother, she now questions what being born of mother does to a person. This is because she was not born of a mother, but of a father and mother in one single entity, aka the Marika/Radigon complex, just like Miquella and Malenia.
As for the curse part of her heritage, Melina's curse is pretty obvious, she is a spirit, she is and i quote 'burnt and bodyless'. She, just like the Smouldering butterfly is eternally burning, and was probably born set aflame, and I believe she died from this curse, turning into a 'eternal' spirit, who would burn once again for another Elden Lord.
To add onto this, Melina has destined death in her eye, her single right eye. And destined death is often delivered through black *flames*, additionally her daggers weapon art uses the exact same animation as the weapon arts of the Black Knife assassins, whose own weapons are imbued with destined death. And a woman with death in one eye who used flames and destined death fits perfectly with the character of the Gloam-Eyed Queen, another woman with a single signifcant eye associated with destined death. It is also said that the Gloam-Eyed Queen was an empyrean, similar to Malenia and Miquella. So if Melina was the Gloam-Eyed Queen she also shares this feature with her siblings.
Also in the Haligtree, that staue with the 3 figures with that one mystery figure would now make sense, as the figure would not be the out of place Godwyn, but the third triplet Melina. As for whythere is no following around Melina unlike her siblings, well there is, or atleast was a cult around her. The godskin apostles, also deliverers of destined death to gods were said to follow the Gloam-Eyed Queen, and it makes somesense as to why they would skin gods, as Melina is a spirit, a corporeal one that can still influence the living world, but a spirit nontheless, perhaps when she was the Gloam-Eyed Queen she skinned gods in hope of making herself a new godly body, similar to how Ranni made herself a new body, though hers was made of straw and wood. As for why none of her half-siblings mention her, I think the reason is that Marika eventually rejected destined death, outcasting Melina, and eventually Marika made Maliketh defeat the Gloam-Eyed Queen and eventually imprison destined death within himself. Forever closing Melinas left eye. Making Melina obsolete, atleast until we came around and she kindled the fire and helped us release destined death. As for why she regains her left eye in the chaos ending, in that ending she never dies before we kill Maliketh, meaning that in that ending destined death is given back to her.
One minor discrepancy is the colour of Melinas flames if she is the Gloam-Eyed Queen, as she wields both golden fire of the Erdtree and pure-black godkilling fire. Aswell as being related to the red-black fire of the rune of death. So idk whats up there, maybe as the kindling maiden and Empyrean of Fire she can just use all the fires. Also her relation to fire explains how she survives the chaos flame ending and even knows what the three-fingers and chaos flames even are, as aside from her very few are aware of the true nature of the chaos flame.
So yeah, I personally buy into the thoery of Melina being the third sibling of Miquella and Malenia and them being triplet empyreans born of a single entity. And I have a smaller theory that they each have curses from a outer-god, like Malenia is cursed by the Scarlet Rot and will become the host to it aka become the Goddess of Rot, Miquella is cursed by the Formless Mother, since he is associated with Mohg, is forever a child, relating to the Mother part of the Formless Mothers name, he can go into dreams as St Trina and bewitch peoples minds/aka mind control, just like the Formless Mother corrupted Mohg into becoming a insane blood goat, and Miquella also watered the Haligtree with his own blood, relating back to the Formless Mothers blood magic, also Mohg is trying to raise Miquella to godhood through his own blood and other peoples blood sacrifices, so maybe the Formless Mother is trying to turn Miquella into a god for him to become a host, just like how Malenia became the goddess of rot and hosted the Scarlet Rot, and how Marika/Radagon became a god and hosted the Greater Will/Elden Beast/Elden Ring and how Ranni became a goddess and hosted the Dark Moon in her ending, And Melina's curse would probable be associated with the Outer-God of the Deathbirds, the Twinbird God, since the Deathbirds spells and weapons are called Ghostflames, so also fire in nature and also deal with death, just like the pure-black and red-black flames of death (there are alot of death fire types, the cold-black, red-black and pure-black flames, all have to do with death) and since she died and is just a floating spirit going around, it also makes thematic sense for her to be the empyrean of a Outer-god of death and fire. Although the deathbirds are more closely associated with Godwyn then they are Melina, since those-who-live-in-death and all the death sorceries have ghostflames (aka flames of the deathbirds/Twinbird God) and colours (pale blue-white) that are related to the Twinbird God and also Godwyn. So if it's not the Twinbird God, then Melina's Outer-God would probably be the Fell Flame God of the giants, but the Fell Gods flames are bright red and are called 'ruinous', instead of anything relating to death, and have little to do with death in general, having more to do with destruction than death. But the Fell God is one eyed, and Radagon was cursed by the giants to have red hair, maybe that curse extended to Melina, and burned her. But that connection is not that stable, similar to the Twinbird God, maybe Melina's Outer-God is yet to be mentioned, but that also seems unlikely, since all the 4 other empyreans already got their Outer Gods mentioned. Idk, but its just a theory after all.

There also might be a chance that Malenia waged war after Mogh kidnapped her brother, and tracked him down to Moghwyn Palace (Which is adjacent to Nokron/Nokstella, which is right under Caelid and Liurnia) but had no idea how to get there, and made a big deal out of it with Radhaan not revealing where he is (most likely because he didn't know either) under the assumption that the two were in cahoots with each other, or that Radhaan war playing a gamble to remove a dangerous opponent from the board. -Tis my personal theory.

Maybe St. Trina is the Miquella of the dream world, and Miquella is the person in the waking world. I don't think Radagon was always the same person as Marika because there's item descriptions that indicate Radagon was descended from the fire giants and thus resented his red hair and there's also a suspicious bit a red hair in one of the description of a jar item (can't remember which one exactly, but it was definitely there). I think Radagon came from the North then marched south where he met Rennala in battle. There's a stone sword shine confirming this in Liurnia. Then there's also the Church in Liurnia (the turtle pope church) specifically built to reconcile the glintstone academy/carian royals with the royalty of Lyndell.
It just doesn't make sense that Radagon was Marika pumping out children from Godfrey while he simultaneously marched down from the north to meet Rennala and then marry her. It makes far more sense if Radagon was his own person, and then met Marika and founded that church with her to reconcile Liurnia and Lyndell. There's also talisman descriptions that indicate Radagon left Rennala after learning everything about sorcery to be with Marika and learn everything about incantations. I think around the time that church was built was when Radagon truly left Rennala and then underwent some kind of alchemy to fuse with Marika, yet they could still switch both body and minds at will as proven in the final battle in the game.
Now, taking that idea into account. What if St. Trina is actually her own person in a 'dream world' which originated at Elphael and in the dream world Miquella fused with her in the same way his father fused with his mother? If this actually turns out to be the case in the DLC, then I think I deserve a cookie lol

Miquella’s story seems one to be doomed to fail unless his curse could be lifted. It is not surprising that the Haligtree failed to grow and thrive - it had been nourished with the blood of a being cursed with the inability to grow or thrive. Anything using his blood (including in my speculation that his blood was used in part to create the Albinaurics) would also be stunted in its growth - even the powerful Bewitching Branch dies off, a fleeting burst of power that all too quickly dims.

@5:05 When I saw that statue at the Haligtree, my first thought was also Marika, but I later ran into a post that had pretty compelling evidence it is in fact a masculine figure, and thus likely Godwyn the Golden, and that is my head canon now. 😁
I like it cuz it makes sense, as first of all, Marika is a lot of things, but overly maternal is not one of them, and it makes so much sense that Godwyn would love the twins very much, cuz remember, they are his only actual (half)siblings among the demigods, others being step-siblings. ( Radahn, Rykard, Ranni) And moreover, he did have a pair of twin siblings that were taken away right after birth and locked far from the public and the light of the Erdtree, presumably never to be seen again. (Omen brothers, Morgott and Mohg)
I like to imagine that he poured his love and compensated his loss with the second pair. Which is the reason Miquella is so devoted to him, and tried multiple ways to reverse his gruesome fate.
I cant wait for that DLC, whether its Miquella and his Dreamworld, or something regarding Godwyns undeath, its going to be awesome! I am pretty sure we will get the confirmation that Trina is Miquella, or rather his dream consciousness manifestation. I think their Lilies hold a clue. Miquellas Lilly is said to be "starting to fade and wilt", appropriate as his physical form and thus his essence in the physical world is all but gone, he is close to death. Trinas Lilly is rather described as "on the edge of wilting", since he is still active, but in his dream, as St. Trina !

Watching this, I'm starting to understand and think Millicent's story is meant to parallel Malenia's, in some literal ways as we've seen, and also give some insight into what is happening to Malenia.
I personally think it is in fact Malenia's third bloom in the fight we see with her and she does in fact become a goddess. However in becoming a Goddess she is no longer Malenia, but has become something else. I say this because of Millicent's dialogue if you side with her. She chooses to let herself die having been able to live as her own, and in doing so dies as Millicent. Whereas, at this is what seems to be the implication, had she bloomed she'd become something other than herself.
I think if you look at this way, it really gives insight into Malenia's struggle with the rot. She's not just struggling to keep the rot at bay, but also the influence of an outer god. A god that seemingly will manifest if it's allowed to overtake her.
Anyway, I'm very excited to see more of Miquella's story unfold and learn more about him. Of all the demi-gods he strikes me as the most benevolent and had genuinely good intentions. I would honestly hate to have to fight him based off what little we know, but I feel like that's inevitable given ER's track record. What I hope if we go that route, is we end up fighting the thing that was in Mogh's cocoon in order to save him.

Millicent and Malenia being one and the same makes sense in keeping with some of George RR Martin's recurring themes, as he helped laid groundwork for Elden Ring's lore. He's obsessed with Odin imagery, and Odin would disguise himself as a wanderer and travel alongside others, like Millicent does (inspiring Gandalf), and Millicent and Malenia are referred to as Valkyries, the Daughters of Odin. There's also Martin's love of mystery knights or disguised nobles, best evidenced in his short story, The Mystery Knight, where several very important figures are disguised as others, like a prince as a squire, to name one of several (the particular disguised figures of The Mystery Knight have very heavy iconography of gold and red, just like Malenia and her twin brother do, and color iconography is very important in Martin's stories). The Mystery Knight has a hedge knight, or knight errant, Ser Dunk, much like the Tarnished protagonist, who aids in toppling nobles or aid in their ascension. Ser Dunk even has to serve as a champion, or the blade of, for his prince squire, Egg, like Malenia served as a blade/champion for Miquella. Millicent being someone to aid the antagonist and then use them in a conflict as part of an ascension feels keeping with Martin's themes as well.

The way that I see cut content's possible continuity, as long as it doesn't directly conflict with stuff that made it into the game it could possibly be cannon in some way (possibly for a DLC). To my knowledge nothing about the cut content that says that St. Trina and Miquella are the same person is contradicted by anything actually in-game, the Abundance rune is likely gone and no longer cannon as well as that last ending.
Also it's very much possible that it was cut so that there would be some mystery at to who St. Trina was instead of giving an explicit answer, not removing that it's Miquella, but also making it not so cut-and-dry as that quest would have done.
There are two things that are in-game that make connections between the two:
    1. The fact that Cleanrot Knights drop BOTH Trina and Miquella Lillies
    2. The fact that the Fervor's Cookbooks (which are stated to be by a follower of St. Trina) also contains the only crafting recipe that requires Miquella's Lilly (Bewitching Branch)
Also an interesting thing to note, the Sword of St. Trina requires Intelligence to use while St. Trina's Torch requires Faith to use. This seems random, but remember that Miquella was a part of Golden Order Fundamentalism before abandoning that, a school of magic that combines Faith and Intelligence.
