Thanks man. This really helped. I was able to find the leak and repair it.
Thanks again. I was on my way out to work today and smelled gas and sure enough, a leaking fuel injector. Thanks for the video, it helped me out ✌
Had to replace oil scraper rings, and headgasket, finally got the motor put back together and I smelled the gas. Sure enough my injector had spit an ungodly amount of fuel all over the engine. Luckily It was just a upper o ring not seating correctly. Bought a new one just to be safe. So happy that somehow that was the only issue that I had!
Good job Dale . At least you found it at home instead of on the road when your jeep was on fire . Looking forward to your next video . Until next time take care ,
But man a jeep fire would have been good footage! Haha 😂
Glad you got the problem fixed, I ran into the same thing with my Honda Motorcycle, I thought it was also leaking from the air box side but it was actually leaking from the fuel rail side running down, Haven't fixed it or been riding yet but for a $1.45 fix I will certainly try this. Thank you for the video excellent content 👍
Buy two sets of "O" rings. It's very easy to damage/twist them during installation and so have dangerous fuel leaks. Two sets. No leaks.
lol...2 sets is always a good call but the whole Hellfire explosion thing is a bit of a 2022 thing. Snowflakes can figure it out but 2 drops of gas aint gonna do a thing
You mean 2 rings per injector ?
ty experiencing something with injectors stopped by now I have more of an understanding after watching, calling a trusted shop tomorrow. thanks!!
Thanks for your video, it’s been over a year now, did you notice any difference with the 4 port? Thanks again.
Im now getting on the odometer a p1292 fuel relay after i did a fuel pressure test with a jumper on the fuse fuel pump relay. No engine codes. I had just replaced injectors and regulator. Im getting a little murmur at idle when cold @ 700 rpm but running great on acceleration. Do you think i need to run more miles on it for the ecm to learn as i only have less than 40 miles on new injectors.
Did you notice a fuel smell and idling roughly wen starting up the car and did that leak get into the spark plugs holes wen gas smell is on top of the engine or should I just replace the o rings
Dale, what would you estimate was your elapsed time for this task?
Excellent video sir, I'm glad I came across this video because I'm working on my Volkswagen VR6 Corrado and I just did a fuel injector swap and unfortunately one of my fuel injectors are leaking. I spent about 6 hours doing the job and I'm so ticked off right now. I like how you said don't put those o-rings in dry or else they can leak. I think that was my problem I put most of them in dry without using any dialectic grease or whatever it is and perhaps that's why it's leaking have a blessed day sir thank God for this video.👍
What's the best type of lubricant to use for these fuel injector rings?
I did some injectors clean up and l put them back dry, now I'm having a leak, I hope it gets fixed after I try that
@@akmr789 Make sure the chamber walls are clean with no dirt or grease in them before you put the fuel injectors back in and most importantly make sure you use dialectic Grease all around. Whatever you do don't force them in just rock them back and forth like a seesaw until you hear or feel a slight pop, that's when you know they're secured.
I made the mistake of pushing one of mine too far in so definitely use a magic marker and mark the height of the fuel injector before and after that way you won't have any more leaks it's so important!
Great video!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!!
How long do you have to wait to remove the fuel injector to clear out from gas before starting to remove them after the car was running?
I have had a leak ever since installing a crown automotive rail last summer, is it possible that the aftermarket rail isnt allowing it to seat proper? Its number 4 like yours did..went through 2 sets of injectors and numerous o-rings.. still leaking
I have a whistling sound coming from my jeep do you have any answers
Good video Dale! This is a major help.. I started having a hard start issue. I'm hoping this is the problem..
Love your channel look forward to seeing your videos thank you
Great! Thank you
What problem did you feel when driving the car?
Mine looked just like this, the same leak on the top of the engine bay but its black and not yellow.. the colour is black like oil
Was that oil mixed with gasoline
I smelt gas and puddle of Diesle all over engine on my VW golf last night. Gonna be a crazy day looking for a Mechanic.
great job, you saved my day😉😉😉👍👍👍👍👌👌👌
Got a 96 Laredo 4.0 was my stepdads work car hes maintained it well but had enough this time when it started missing i bought it been trying to get it going replaced the distributor noticed 1or2 plugs fowed bad soaked with gas the mis is still there and then noticed the oil smelled of gas finally would u say there's definitely a leaky injector iam running out of ideas anyone able to help me with some ideas?
Great job Dale....I’m curious to know if you have ever had an issue with the fuel pressure regulator O rings? Mine has gotten torn more than once and man can that make the engine run bad! Btw good luck with the radiator.
Mine is ok so far
Wish I knew about the jelly before. My fuel shot out 😮
my kind of guy DIY not those rip off dealers
Nice work! Also, I just love the sound of the Jeep's straight 6. After re-assembling my YJ's engine, a god awful squeak reared its head. Not sure yet if it's a bad alignment of the belt pulleys or a bad new part (I've replaced all accessories and idlers with new parts when I rebuilt it).
And new belt?
@@JeepSolid Yep!
Automotive stethoscope time
@@BroncoSolid Right? Funny enough, I actually have one. Once it gets warmer out I plan on clearing off the Jeep and trying to do something about that squeal! lol
Also, when are we going to see more JP Jeep vids? 😉
Polish the inside of the rail where the fuel injector goes in with a fiber brush (very lightly). Aluminum does oxidize. A little spit on the o-ring, yea spit, it works. Lol. And the injector will slide right in.
Good idea. Man it sure was a tight fit! But got it in, and so far so good.
Still think about that red Jeep you had, sorry to say but you should of kept it.
Yeah! It was a good one. But I have new plans.. 😁
There is a specific o-ring lube that helps... It's a pink paste
Good to know 👍🏽
Go Hawks!
So if one leaky injector, off with the entire fuel rail? Daaamnit ☹☹
a bad fuel injector can leak coolant also?
No. That would most likely be a headgasket leak, or if lits leaking coolant on the outside it it most likely a water pump gasket, or the pump itself or just a hose somewhere.
And you still haven't replaced the belt. 😂
Just put 4-hole injectors in my WJ's 4.0 motor, and the goddamn FPD (fuel pulsation damper/dampener) is leaking gasoline onto the hot intake manifold now.
Use a lubricant called "P-80" on fuel injector O-rings. You'll thank me for it.
